One to One Lasik

Dr. Sanford Feldman, an ophthalmologist at One to One Lasik, 3737 Moraga Ave., 92 117, (858) 272‑3456 is absolutely the best physician I have encountered in my 76 long years, during which I estimate I must have seen at least 100 physicians.
First, he is more careful about explaining the situation than almost any other physician I have encountered. Second, and most amazingly, he puts everything in very clear writing, which no other physician in my experience does. It is widely known that patients often don’t follow the physician’s instructions, often because the instructions aren’t written down in a way so the patient can follow them, and often the instructions aren’t written down at all, but delivered in quick speech. Dr. Feldman is so concerned about this that for crucial elements of his instructions he requires that the patient re-​write the element in the patient’s own handwriting. And just as an added bonus, his office works like clockwork, which I think may be indicative of other important attitudes.
Dr. Feldman recently replaced both of the cataract-​threatened lenses of my wife. She now sees better than she has for all of her life. Nobody wants to undergo surgery, but the whole experience has been excellent, largely because of Dr. Feldman’s practices.

Like most people these days, I began my search for a cataract surgeon online and like you, I came across the enthusiastic reviews found here. I consider myself very fortunate to have found «One to One» and to have had Doctor Zaveri perform cataract surgery on one of my eyes. The result is nothing less than phenomenal with essentially no pain, very little discomfort and perfect vision restored. I have already scheduled the other eye. I feel compelled to tell the public about my experience with the high standard of care at One to One Lasik and the professionalism, thoroughness, compassion and competence of Doctor Zaveri and the entire staff.
My career was in Quality Assurance Management as a Certified Quality Manager and QA Engineer having evaluated organizations for quality and effectiveness for more than 30 years. From the minute you step into the One to One facility, you will feel welcome and know you have gone to the right place. Then you will begin to experience their «One to One» approach to customer care and satisfaction. Lasik surgery is a scary thing to consider but any concerns I had were soon quelled as I found that my comfort and quality of care were in qualified and competent hands operating with state-​of-​the-​art eye care technology.

From the first visit I was impressed as soon as I walked in the door. I love the virtual fish tanks in their waiting room. Very calming. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, helpful and always had a smile on their faces. Trevi, who fitted me with contacts, was incredibly patient during the process, provided a ton of helpful information and put a lot of effort into getting my contacts as perfect as possible. The best decision of 2016 was to listen to my cousin – because she led me to Dr. Sanford Feldman, the best LASIK doctor and eye health advocate that I have had the pleasure of working with for the very first surgery of my life!
My vision changed 15 years ago in middle school. I’ve been wearing glasses for 10+ years and contacts for 5+ years. LASIK was something I had always heard about but didn’t give much consideration until recently: I was about to run out of contacts and my eyes were already feeling irritated from wearing them too much and I just pondered if I really wanted to order another year’s worth of lenses and multiple bottles of cleaning solution again.
«Timing is everything”– an adage that stands the test of time. My birthday was also around the corner and I was about to turn 26. A long time ago I remembered hearing that around 25 years old that the eyes should be done growing or stabilizing. Since I was already going on 26, I decided that perhaps my eyes could be better suited for LASIK this year and it would be a birthday gift to myself.
When I met Dr. Feldman, he was direct, informative, and thorough in his approach to my interest in LASIK. I thought this was the ‘classic’ consultation for LASIK and walked out feeling like I knew a lot about LASIK and it was up to me to consider cost as the only impedance to going through with the surgery. He had informed me that I was the ideal candidate considering my gender, age group, and eye measurements. He also informed me of the risks unique to my eyes as well as advise me to give my eyes a rest for 2 weeks from contacts in order for further pre-​op measurements to re-​confirm his medical assessment that I was the ideal candidate for LASIK.
I walked out of his office insisting on a second consultation with another doctor to make sure I was really an ideal candidate on LASIK and that the care that I would be receiving would be top notch. He modestly said to me, «My best sales strategy is to have you go to another office.»
Surely, his humble opinion was nothing short of accurate. I went to another LASIK center that a friend recommended in San Diego where she had her procedure. I felt like I was being pushed in an assembly line:
1)I spoke to a doctor who said little-​to-​none about my eyes or the procedure and sent me out of the patient room quickly saying I could have my surgery the very next day if I wanted to,
2)I was sent to a back-​office financial adviser who also acted as the LASIK marketer/​expert/​scheduler who was too much of a salesman,
3)Finally, I was told I would not meet my surgeon until the day of surgery. Although this may not be atypical in other surgery situations, I REALLY didn’t want to end up with dealing with the initial Doctor who initially rushed me out of the patient room for any future post-​op care because he was already so hasty and careless about my consultation: I couldn’t fathom putting my eye care with someone who gave me no reason to trust him with my concerns.
I called back Dr. Feldman’s office knowing two things: I was an ideal candidate for LASIK and that I had chosen a doctor who I knew would be the best doctor for me because he would be there from the beginning, middle, and end. He had already told me during the first consultation that I would be ‘stuck’ with him if I had chosen him as a my doctor and I could not be more grateful for his dedication to me and the health of my eyes.
The best thing about Dr. Feldman is that he is a man of his word: the morning after surgery (surgery was quick and painless btw)-only 12 hours later, I woke up with excessive tearing in my right eye. I work by 7am and had to call at 6am to his after-​hours call center to help me. The center connected me with the doctor and he told me to meet him at his office before work to help me with my eyes. What dedication!
I was elated to have my doctor agree to see me as quickly as he did as if it was a medical emergency by one of his own family members.
I met him, he helped me, and sent me on my way to work and I made it in to work by 7! It was a minor issue that he was able to resolve in minutes!
He sent me off with his cell phone number to let me know that he would be there for me if I needed him since weekends the office is closed.
I have been highly recommending him to all of my coworkers at work and I cannot be more satisfied with the service I’ve received. My vision is only 3 days in but already it is amazing and I am only waiting for more time to pass before it is ²⁰⁄₂₀! Please consider this office and Dr. Sanford Feldman for your LASIK needs. You do not need to look far to have someone who cares about you and your vision once you meet him.

Dr. Feldman my hero! I wanted to see if I was a candidate for LASIK. I had many issues when I walked through his doors years ago the staff was attentive and caring for my situation. Extreme dry eye, bad vision since I was a youngster and no insurance at the time I was a mess they took care of me when they really could have turned me away. It took me a year to really get dry eye, under control with his help. I was not an ideal candidate for lasik but another procedure PRK which I did. I had some other hurdles here and there cuz I am a problem child like that and was m luck that they always have been there to help in my times of need. I am eternally grateful for the entire staff. My vision is great did mono vision was ²⁰⁄₁₅ last visit. Amazing! I will never go anywhere else for my vision care. You want the very best care for your vision without a doubt they are the best!

This review is for Dr. Zaveri at One to One Lasik.
I am a physician and after much research I decided to have Dr. Zaveri perform my Lasik surgery. My eyesight is crucial for my profession and therefore I was very selective about whom I would let perform the procedure. Dr. Zaveri was a class act from the very first appointment and I quickly felt at ease. He has excellent bedside manner and spends a lot of one on one time getting to know you. He is extremely thorough in his examinations, checking and rechecking everything multiple times to ensure everything is correct. He spent a lot of time explaining the surgery in detail as well as the expectations pre– and postoperatively. Easily the best physician experience I have ever had.
During surgery, Dr. Zaveri verbally reassured me and updated me on his progress of the procedure. Throughout the process, I knew exactly what he was doing at any given time, what was coming next, and the timing of each step. Following the surgery, Dr. Zaveri went out of his way to be available at all times for any questions or concerns. He and his staff were very accommodating to my extremely hectic work schedule. Janice was extremely helpful in coordinating my appointments at the doctor’s office as well as at the Eye Bank.
Now I am several days post-​op and my vision is perfect. I could not be happier with my experience, both the results of the surgery and with Dr. Zaveri. I highly recommend Dr. Zaveri to anyone looking for the best possible Lasik experience.

My thanks go out from the bottom of my heart to Dr Zaveri at One To One LASIK. I have worn very thick glasses since 1^st grade. I am 51 now. To compound the problem I am a cancer survivor and underwent extensive radiation treatments on the left side of my head last year. The radiation caused a cataract in my left eye that rendered me blind in that eye. I could only perceive light no definition at all. Dr Zaveri implanted a lens in my left eye that not only restored my sight but I no longer require glasses. The surgery was December 2^nd. It was basically painless. Today is December 21^st and the vision on that eye without glasses is 20 – 25. I can’t wait to have the right eye done. If you are looking for a great practice and a great Dr, I promise you won’t be disappointed with Dr Zaveri at One To One LASIK.

I just had my lasik surgery done one week ago and everything turned out perfect. I was a little scared to have the procedure but I’ll have to say it was the fastest, most pain free, easiest surgery I have had. Dr. Feldman was excellent! I highly recommend him. He was so thorough. He knew I was very nervous and walked me through every second of the procedure, informing me of exactly what I would feel and experience as we went through each step. I am so happy I decided to use Dr. Feldman and his team/​staff, overall just a very good experience.

I had LASIK with Dr. Feldman about 3 weeks ago. I was operating on a tight schedule, and his entire staff went out of their ways to fit me in and make this procedure possible. Dr. Feldman explains every step of the process, and measures at every step of the way to guarantee that you will get the exact right settings for your procedure.
I woke up the morning after the surgery with no discomfort, seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀. Dr. Feldman’s expertise and professionalism, as well as that of his entire staff, cannot be matched, and I wouldn’t trust my sight to anyone else.

Dr. Feldman really spends the time and effort to consider and explain all options regarding vision surgery. My case was particularly difficult due to a previous eye trauma and Dr. Feldman was right on it regarding any possible complications during surgery. The results were fantastic.

Besides the rest of the courteous and caring staff at One to One, I just want to especially mention the great service I’ve had from Paula, the Optometrist in their practice. She is knowledgeable, caring and excellent at what she does. I have had several «glasses issues» in the past couple of years. All of them have been handled by Paula in a very positive way… adjustments, picking out new frames, loss of a pair of glasses, etc. She has great taste in helping to pick out the most attractive frames and the correct lenses to go in them. I very much appreciate Paula being right there with the rest of the team! Great!

I have been very happy with the treatment I’ve received from Drs Zavari, Samdani, Feldman and all the staff at this surgery. They have carefully taken the time to treat my eye condition with patience and kindness, and they are experienced and careful with their work.
I would mention that it is never a good idea to visit when you’re in a hurry, they treat every patient carefully and they sometimes end up taking a bit longer, so bring a great book and be ready to wait a while.

I’ve been going here ever since I moved to SD, for about 10 years. Dr Bainter is great, she spends time going over and explaining things, answering my silly questions and is very personable.

This review is long overdue as I had my LASIK procedure performed several years ago by Dr. Feldman, but I just want to add how great my experience with them has been. Dr. Feldman was extremely thorough with me and made sure I was comfortable with the procedure. He spent so much time with me and I didn’t feel any pressure whatsoever.
I did have a post op complication, dry eye, which is very common especially for women and unfortunately I had developed an allergy to the eye drop preservative I was prescribed. I had to go in for several visits and once Dr. Feldman saw that I was allergic to the preservative in eye drops, he switched me to preservative free drops and prescribed Restasis for me.
The front desk was always courteous. My wait times were typically long, so I always planned to keep myself busy while I waited. I understand that a wait time is to be expected because Dr. Feldman will spend SO much one in one time with YOU, you just have to be patient.
They have a busy practice because they are very good and they want to accommodate as many people as they can. So if you come in, expect to wait.
Recently I saw Dr. Zaveri for a recurrence in my dry eye. He was very kind and informative. I saw him twice, a few months apart and he remembered specific details of our first visit without even looking at my chart! I thought that was impressive.
Overall great office and I would highly recommend them!

I have been a patient of Dr. Feldman’s and One to One Lasik for many years. God has only given me one set of eyes, they weren’t perfect, but even so to have anyone surgically alter them is a scary thought! Dr. Feldman checked and rechecked to make sure exactly what was needed to have me seeing ²⁰⁄₂₀. With that kind of thoroughness I was very comfortable and confident that he cared and I was going to get the best treatment. It just doesn’t stop after the surgery. His post-​op follow ups also is just as thorough!
There are a lot of doctors and clinics performing lasik, but if you want someone who is not only a leader in cutting edge eye surgery, but also a doctor who cares I highly recommend Dr. Feldman and the staff of One to One Lasik! You only have one pair of eyes, use the best!

Decent doctor (Feldman). Terrible time/​scheduling practices — and no empathy for your time.
They make you wait and wait, and wait and wait. Very old school attitude of «our time is much more valuable then your’s». Typical appointment: sitting around waiting, get checked by a flunky, wait some more, maybe get some tests done, wait some more, then get re-​checked by the Doctor. REALLY?! An eye appointment should not take 2 hours. A follow-​up visit should not take 2 hours.

All of what you say may be true, but out of @6 visits, not one visit lasted less than one hour. Only two visits were less than 2 hours. That, sir, is absolutely and entirely unacceptable. In fact, one visit in particular, I came back 1.5 hours after her appointment time, for a follow-​up to a follow-​up, and she was still waiting to be seen. The receptionist even commented that she would be the first patient to be seen «when the Doctor arrives.» WHY in the world was her appointment scheduled for a time when you were not even in the office?! And if there was an emergency keeping you away, why wouldn’t this be explained in any way other than saying «when the Doctor arrives»? If there was such an emergency, it sure would have been nice to know when she first arrived.
Oh yeah. This is a second incident, following the other incident explained below. Which, incidentally, could have been avoided. Because this was the follow-​up, they KNEW the lady was sick, weak, needed extra attention, yet they didn’t bother to phone us and ask us to arrive later, or better yet, see us first since we arrived in the office first anyway. We were the second appointment of the day. The other lady was the first appointment of the day. Customer service common sense is a lovely skill, even in doctor offices. (BTW — I was ok with the two hour delay on the day of the surgery, I was not ok with another 2 hour delay the next day for the follow-​up, which as I said earlier could have been easily avoided.)
The timer thing mentioned by Dr Feldman obviously only measures the time spent in the waiting room. It stops as soon as the patient is escorted back to an examination room, where the waiting game really gets going. We all know that the appointment does not officially begin when we get to the room, that is only waiting part 2… It doesn’t begin until we get to speak with a knowledgeable person regarding the purpose of the visit.

It takes forever to get an appointment (if it’s an emergency they’ll try to squeeze you in). This is because Dr. Sanford Feldman is hands-​down the best eye Dr. in San Diego.

I had my laser eye surgery done with Dr. Feldman in mid April and literally the very next morning one of my eyes was already ²⁰⁄₁₅. It is really amazing how far this technology has come. Stories about halos at night and other horrors are not applicable anymore. The only thing that you should expect is some dry eyes for a month or two.
One thing that stands out is the attention to detail. Sometimes I wanted to say «ok, I get it, let’s move on,» because everything is explained so thoroughly, but I suppose you only have one set of eyes, so I was 100% assured that everything would go well. And of course it did.

FABULOUS DOCTOR!!! I RECOMMEND HIM WITHOUT RESERVATION:
After having an fluctuating vision issue since September, 2012, and having gone to many doctors to try to diagnosis the cause (neurologist, retina specialist, ophthalmologist, endocrinologist), my internist suggested that I go to see Dr. Feldman to get another opinion.
I have never met a more intelligent, caring, thorough doctor in my life.
At my first appointment, he reviewed an enormous file to get the background on my problem, ran a few more tests to confirm his diagnosis, and then determined the correct course of action. It ended up being a sugar related issue. He convinced my internist to have me try a course of metformin, which she and my endocrinologist had both been against previously. The eye fluctuation issue stopped almost immediately. I am now being treated by my endocrinologist for the problem because he had so much respect for Dr. Feldman’s opinion as a doctor.
Once the fluctuating vision issue was resolved, Dr. Feldman was able to prescribe glasses for me. I ordered the glasses at his office, which by the way was more economical than going to Lens Crafters. When I went to pick them up, I was walking outside using the distance glasses. Dr. Feldman happened to be outside. When he noticed that I was not seeing perfectly out of them, he asked me to come inside so he could check out whether the problem was due to fluctuation again or the glasses. He was able to adjust the glasses, so I now can see perfectly. I did not have an appointment, he did not charge me and he took a lot of time with me.
I recommended Dr. Feldman to a friend. Dr. Feldman did her cataract surgery, and she was absolutely as happy with her experience as I was.
If you need an ophthalmologist, this absolutely is the doctor you should see.

Cannot thank Dr. Feldman enough for digging into his personal time to help me out while I was on vacation in San Diego. I suffered a corneal abrasion on our trip and Dr. Feldman fit us in the schedule and got my eye right enough to enjoy a full vacation with almost no limitations despite the fact that before I saw him I could barely open my eye was was really feeling a lot of discomfort. He even came in early before a personal obligation on Saturday to conduct a followup. Quite honestly one of the best care providers I have ever dealt with. Trevy (a med tech I think?) was also incredibly helpful and friendly.
