Nature’s Ambrosia

Delicious mom and pop place run by the sweetest kids ever. Tip them please :) It always seems to be the same guy and girl team and they are awesome.
They use fresh (not frozen) fruit and real food! The desert taco is delicious, as is the pico de gallo. Oh, and wheatgrass is only $ 1 an oz! Awesome! No tax since it is all fresh fruit. If you mix your smoothie in the bike you get 50 cents off. Score!

I tried the Straw-​Nana Taco, which was absurdly tasty, but everything looked really good.
They only use fresh fruit so nothing frozen and no corn syrup. They don’t charge tax either because their food isn’t processed.
The owner was super nice, and I dig the pedal-​powered bike to blend your own smoothie.
I’ll be back for sure.

I had stupidly skipped food all day, waking up at six am to get the kids ready for school and off to work I went. By the time lunch rolled around, I was too busy to notice my tummy churnin and burnin. It was nearing the 330 hour, and I had to eat! I didn’t feel like a sandwich or a burrito, and my pal says, go get a monster taco! I said, «I don’t want Mxcn today…» He said, «I’m talking about fruit».
I walk to the food court, go around all the greasy places, and head in. Smells fresh! The wind passes through there naturally, and blows across fruits and juices so sweetly you think you are inside a fruit salad tornado, or something less severe. The people inside working were very nice, turns out they own the joint. So young! So ambitious! So tasty.
I did get the Monster Taco, made on a handmade tortilla from National City, spread with delicious creamy PB, and it was chock full of all kinds of berries, melons, and various other fruits. Topped with cottage cheese and almond flakes, sprinkled with cinnamon, and put through a baby toaster oven! I was surprised at how deliciously full I was, without feeling stuffed. I also got a shot of Wheatgrass (only $ 1!) and while I was eating, she brought me over a Strawberry Slushie, cuz she said she felt bad that I hadn’t eaten all day. Nice touch. There were several other guests coming in while I was there, and they all were treated like royalty. Lots of smiles abounded, and I was full all day/​night.
I am going to start going here to try the whole menu, I will feel like a super healthy health nut. A fruity fruit. A nutty nut. A sweet sweetie, with no added sugar or preservatives.

I am so sad you’ve closed. I hope they open up something else soon. The owners were such nice people and conscious, too! I will miss Natures Ambrosia

Regardless, we make the trip almost every week and that’s because this is as fresh as it gets. SO PURE and FRESH and GOOD, that it’s on the devil’s most wanted list.
I don’t want to wake up in fruit smoothy (Flight of the Conchords), but rather, swim in a tasty slushy. I’m not talking boba-​type slushies either, but 100% fruit ecstasy.

The owners are friendly and sassy. They have a bike outside that powers a blender — and if you use it you get 50 cents off your drink. I haven’t tried the bike but what can I say — I’m lazy.
I’m giving them 5 stars because they have a good sense of humor to boot.

Just an update on some recent renovations work being done here at Nature’s Ambrosia. Painting and refurbishing the store are underway. A brand new BIG menu board will soon go up
They are also now offering a cactus fruit salad for $ 5.00 and have added a wheatgrass juice press and sell 1 oz. of the juice for $ 1.00.
I have asked the owners for a carrot juicer so they can make that delicious fresh (and sweet) carrot juice, and they are considering it.
Some guy came in today when I was getting my Fruit Taco that was divine & ordered a Coconut Delight Shake that had my mouth watering. You can never go wrong with their perfect Smoothies and next-​I am to try a Fruit Bowl!
This is a great mom-​and-​pop local business that needs neighborhood support, so please-​if you’re at Von’s or the Chase Bank across the driveway-​just hop on in and check it out-​it hasn’t been getting 5 Star Reviews consistently for nothing! Nature’s Ambrosia IS as good as it gets!

Dang, I hate to say it, but I’m officially over Jamba Juice and all their ice-​filled smoothies! This place made up my mind for me. You can taste the difference! Their Pico-​de-​gallo transports me back to Mexican beaches and all the hangovers that were cured with this stuff! Excellent! Plus they had 2 cute painters redoing the walls recently, that always helps. Sometimes ma and pa shops are working harder and putting out a better product than the corporations. This is one of those cases. I love you Nature’s Ambrosia, I sing dirty rap songs in my head that rhyme with your name!

This place is great! Everything is fresh! Not frozen like just about every other smoothie shop. Frozen means not fresh and usually some sort of a preservative… read chemical.
The little food court is a bit off putting, but don’t let it stop you from enjoying what will probably be the best fruit drink of your life. They don’t use Sorbet’s so it may be a little different than what most people are used to. The fact is you will walk away with a delicious and nutritious drink (or fruit bowl, or taco) and you wont feel like you need to lie down afterward.
Oh yeah, if they make you something and you don’t like it, they’ll make you something else. That’s a pretty good deal!

I love –erias. Dulceria, zapateria, heladeria, whatever. I just seems like whatever you get there is better than anywhere else. The best tortillas I ever had were from, guess where? A tortilleria.
Anyhoo, Nature’s Ambrosia es una fruteria fabulosa! I work out in that center at least once a week, and had never noticed it. Honestly, that whole food court always looked a little sketchy, so I never paid much attention. But then Unilocal’s weekly newsletter turned me onto NA, so I thought I’d give it a try.
My first time, I had the classic fruit bowl, with cottage cheese, honey, the works. It was great! It takes a little while to make, but only because everything is prepared right in front of you while you wait. (Boris says you can call ahead, too, if you don’t want to wait.) He is super friendly, and seems to really enjoy his work. I went today to try the fruit taco. Seriously, how can you go wrong with fruit, a HANDMADE tortilla, and peanut butter all warmed to toasty perfection?
Now, the menu doesn’t say the strawberry-​banana taco comes with caramel sauce, so it was a surprise to me when he added it. I would have ordered it without, seeing as how I just came in from the gym, but I can’t in good conscience remove a star for anyone adding caramel to anything. Yum.

No preservatives, Gluten free, No Frozen Fruits, All Natural Ingredients. How often do you see these words at a «restaurant». Nature’s Ambrosia has smoothies, slushies, shakes, juices, fruit bowls, fruit tacos (fruit wrapped in a tortilla) and healthy dessert cups with your choices of strawberries, bananas, mangoes, pineapple, oranges, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, honeydew, cantaloupe, watermelon, peanut butter, chocolate, coconut. They also have milk, soy milk, ginger, protein (soy, rice and/​or whey/​wheat & egg) and toppings– almonds, raisins, peanuts, choc chips, coconut flakes and granola. I got the 16 oz. banana nut-​twist shake w/​soy milk and rice protein for lunch for $ 3.99 (they don’t charge any sales tax). It was tasty, gluten free and kept me full until dinner. They let you try it and if it’s not up to par they will fix it to your liking. Please support Nature’s Ambrosia! We need more all-​natural places like this in San Diego!

This place is great, good fresh fruit, friendly and helpful staff, and a great location since I live right around the corner. I had the «classic» which had all sorts of fruit topped with cottage cheese, raisens, and honey which was so delicious and large enough to split with a friend for $ 6.00. I love supporting good local business instead of heading to a Starbucks or Jamba Juice, and this place is definitely worth supporting! I don’t have the guts to ride the blender bike yet.

OMG! So I work in Point Loma and I drop off my Fedex over there… one day i look over and see a new smoothie place, and not just a smoothie place an all organic, all green all fresh smoothie palace! not only that, they have a «blend your own smoothy» device out front! dont ask just go see :) The girl that works there… damn cant remember her name but she was so amazing and nice! Answered all my questions. Cant wait to try the Fruit Tacos… yes i said fruit tacos! they look amazing!

Being a Jamba fanatic that I am I recently started wondering about how healthy the juicers really were. JJ doesn’t really use organics, nor do they use fresh produce. Just google JJ’s produce and the process they use in freezing the fruits used (sometimes up to a year old.)
So after seeing this family owned smoothie joint across the way from where I bank during lunch hour I decided to approach with an open mind. From the get go I was excited to see an encouraging green movement. They want you to blend your own smoothie with a stand still bike. HA! what fun! And if you can do it, you save 50¢ on your order, not bad.
The smoothie was amazing, fresh fruits, fresh juice, no additives, just what I had been looking for.

I noticed this place when they were still working on it during my trips to the WaMu across parking lot from this place (I still refuse to call it Chase!)
I wondered if they had the Mexican style fruit salad. You know, the kind with fruits like strawberry, cantaloupe, watermelon, oranges, etc. all chopped up, topped with cottage cheese… and maybe raisins/​granola/​bee pollen… and drizzled with honey. Yup that kind.
The kind I would beg my parents to buy me from some corner fruteria place in Tijuana growing up… back when (yah I said that and I am only 21) trips to Tijuana did not involve long border waits and you could just say, «U.S. citizen» and they would let you through– no need for a passport.
So when I found out this place in Point Loma (out of all places) had a Mexican fruit salad, escamocha and pico de gallo… I was thrilled. Although I think they are in the midst of changing the menu since the customers haven’t been wildly receptive to their fare :[
Either way, I happily ate my salad made by the guy with the prettiest eyes evarrrrr. I was jealous and enthralled by them at the same time… seriously they were like greenish-​grayish. Ok way off topic :/​
I will be back and I am crossing my fingers that they will keep the mexican fruit salad. If not I will start a petition!
