I rarely write Unilocal reviews but just had to for Moorco. Willie moved my family from our condo and my mother from her apartment into our new house a week ago. I call him Willie because he made me feel like family and took care of my belongings with great care. It started with a phone call about 3 weeks before our move date and he came out within a couple days to give me a personal estimate and to get the «lay of the land». He has great rates, came in under the estimate and was such a pleasure to work with. He carefully wraps furniture, allows you to leave belongings in your dresser drawers, uses special floor runners to protect your home… I have moved many times in my life and have used friends to move me (don’t do that and listen to all the complaining) and have used other big name moving companies (don’t do that and pay more). I cannot recommend this company enough and will tell anyone who is considering moving to give them a call. I hate moving and hope to not have to do it any time soon, but if I do I will be calling Willie.

I was involved in a move this weekend and used this company. Willie was the main person
coordinating and moving the whole contents of their home, along with 2 other men. The owners had lived in the home 43 years and the amount of boxes and furniture was overwhelming. Though there were complications, they worked tirelessly and with positive attitudes throughout a very long day. I would recommend them to anyone.

Willie Moor at Moorco Moving is such a hard worker! We just had Willi move the contents of our condo into storage last weekend and we have never had such an easy, reasonably priced, no-​stress and professional move! Willie was careful with our belongings, very efficient, creative in packing items, and was very friendly. Since his worker was unable to help with our move as scheduled, Willie moved everything from our condo by himself, lifting heavy items without much effort. Willie ran everywhere, from the truck to the condo and back. He never complained about anything, and reduced the amount he charged to compensate for his helper not being able to help him. Willie’s wife was friendly and helpful on the phone, and Willie called us the day before to confirm our move. We have moved our daughters several times in California and wish we had known about Willie then. That afternoon we went back home to Arizona and Willie even called to make sure we got home safely. We would highly recommend Willie and Moorco. There’s not a better mover in San Diego.

Lets face it Moving is not fun. All the things that can go wrong. Hard work. Any service business should be hard, but moving and keeping people happy is not easy. We dont move a lot so i was concerned about working with the right moving company. I wanted to work with a company that was:
— professional
— reliable
— cared about what they did
— positive and do not complain
With Willie at Moor Co. we got that. He came with his long estimate sheet, carefully making suggestion and preparing his estimate. As a former fire fighter he was very careful and organized. You could tell he cared about what he did. Of course he was doing this for over 30 years.
But what amazed me the most is the day he showed up with his crew, how great the people that worked with him. They were hard working (i had to tell them to take break), always smiling and in good mood. They were professional and did this as living, not just a weekend job.
At the end our move was long, hard work but never frustrating or boring. I have to take WIllie and his crew for that…

In July of this year, I was referred to Moorco by a owner/​manager of a storage company here in San Diego. In all the years he recommended Moorco he says he never had 1 complaint. Willie, Lisa and Jim are very nice and courteous. I would add that they were professionally dressed and conducted themselves in the same manner. I was with them every minute of the move & found them to be fast, efficient, careful and fairly priced. Willie has been quite creative in making some unique «dolly equipment» that speeds up the physical moving. I have already contacted Moorco about moving many items from a 10′ x 10′ x 10′ storage unit next week. «The proof is in the pudding» as they say & I have no reservation about recommending Moorco.

On April 26, this company moved me from one condo to another 6 miles away. I had already moved my dishes, linens, clothes, kitchen items, art work and many knick-​knacks. It took them 7 hours to move me and cost me $ 679. While both movers were very nice and courteous, they did not put down any floor or stair protectors, resulting in scrapes and scratches. The worst part is when they moved my treadmill from upstairs, they tried to move it through the door way and down the stairs without disassembling it. Because it was too big to go through the doorway or the stairwell, they caused a great deal of damage to the door, the wall and doorframe. He finally disassembled it and moved it to his truck. When I pointed out the damage to the mover, he merely said he was sorry and that he should have disassembled it from the beginning. He said that he hoped I wouldn’t be in trouble with my landlord! I couldn’t believe, first of all how slow they worked and how much this move cost; secondly that as a professional he made not offer to pay for the damage but merely apolologized.
If you choose to use Moorco, I suggest you get an estimate in writing and watch closely to make sure they protect the walls, doors, and floors so you don’t end up in a similar situation. I would also suggest you get another estimate to be sure Moorco is not overcharging you.
Personally, if I were you, I’d join Angie’s List and choose one of the recommended movers there.
My landlord ended up deducting $ 350 from my deposit for the damage Moorco caused. I filed a complaint and eventually received a $ 200 refund.
