Chavo was excellent. I was a first time customer and being newly retired from the military, I am also new to the beard styling experience. From the second I walked through the door I felt comfortable and welcomed. Chavo helped me find the style that worked best for me. I will be returning here in the near future.

The ambiance of Mister Browns was inviting and relaxing, serving drinks and offering a pool table while you wait for your appointment.
Chavo gave me the best hair cut and beard trim I have ever received; his attention to detail and understanding of the human bone structure allowed him to shape my face and head better than anybody before. They’ve created a regular customer in me.

Phenomenal place! The people that work there were super friendly, helpful and really skilled at what they do! I will for sure come back! :)

My husband’s haircut looks AMAZING! I kept trying to convince him to get the hipster high fade and this barber shop nailed it! Thank you for giving him an amazing haircut and providing him with incredible customer service. He will definitely become a regular at Mister Brown’s from now on!

HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! Would highly recommend this place if you’re the type of person who appreciates having a proper haircut while enjoying a gentlemen vibe environment. My barber CHAVO made sure to get a full detail on how I wanted my hair to look. Twice, before getting anywhere near my hair. I never got a cut from the other barbers yet but CHAVO knows how to make you feel confident when making a decision. I showed up a bit early for my cut but waiting was no issue when it involved comfortable coaches, music to vibe to, and adult beverages. All in all great barber spot!

5 stars for lee (super chill and friendly guy), and 1 star for barber BB. Impatient, bad attitude, and the cut was shitty.

Luke hooked it up! I gave him very vague details of what I wanted and he pulled out an amazing haircut. This place is laid back and it brings you back to the old school barbers where everyone is sitting around talking shop.

One of the best haircuts I’ve ever gotten. Omar hooked me up really well. He spent a lot of time and detail on my hair, asking me a few times along the way if it was going the way I wanted. I really appreciated the personal service. Lee up front is super nice. Between everyone in the barber shop, I was offered a drink 4 times. The staff all around is top notch.
Vibe here is a true gentlemen’s barbershop. A place to hang out and chill and get a fresh cut.

I love this Barber shop it is the only one I will ever go to. The price is right the atmosphere is great and the barbers are very professional and know what they’re doing. If you get a chance to experience this place I recommend you ask for Chavo.

This place is amazing. The barbers are so friendly and honestly just give a crap about your hair. They take their time with you and make sure you look as best as possible before you walk out the door. My barber spent a solid 15 min on my taper alone and I have never gotten that kind of service anywhere else.
The old school barber shops were a place to socialize and where a man could be a man – this brings that back and it’s awesome. They have beer and whiskey available as well. I will never go anywhere else.

We just moved here a week and a half ago. My husband is military and needs it nice and neat, but we gotta have it fashionable too! Chavo hooked it up!!! He’s so kind, cool and professional!!! We’ll definitely be coming back.

This place is great! Fletcher is friendly and always cuts hair the way I like it. The atmosphere of the place is awesome too. Lee is always courteous.

One of the things I was dreading most about moving from the east coast to San Diego was having to find a new barbershop I can call home. Luckily my east coast barber recommended that I check out Mister Brown’s Barber Shop and it did not disappoint. This has to be one of the most badass barbershops in San Diego. From the moment you walk in, you know you found the right place.
The barbershop has a hip/​rustic gentlemen’s vibe with some classic tracks playing throughout. I was greeted by the owner of the shop, Lee, who treated me like I was an old friend stopping by and immediately offers me a refreshing adult beverage and invites me over to shoot a game of pool as I wait for my appointment.
The cut was on point and I just had a hell of an experience. I definitely recommend it and I know I’ll be back soon.

This is definitely the nicest barbershop I’ve been to. They have such a chill vibe with good music. The interior design is perfection… a rustic heaven. They have a pool table for waiting customers and Lee the owner treats every guest like a friend. He greets everyone, is super friendly and offers beverages to everyone that comes in (including ever so patiently waiting girlfriends for their boyfriends lol).
The haircuts are pricier ($ 30) I think than the average barbershop. However, it’s not just a haircut you’re getting, but more of an experience you should get at a barbershop. Every barber there seems very skilled at their craft and every guy I see leaving has the freshest cut. The most popular hair cut I see done there is the popular comb over undercut.
My boyfriend goes to Fletcher for his cuts and his hair always comes out perfectly. His hair grows out well the way Fletcher cuts it, he only comes in every 3 weeks. Even with his hair grown out he is still able to part and style well. I commend the outstanding customer service Lee and his employees give. Definitely recommend to any fella wanting to enjoy a nicer experience while getting his hair did.

For the past 16 years I have been shaving my head and pissing off my Mom. This Christmas season I decided to surprise her with a full head of hair. Ok, part of it was ego and proving to myself that I still could but yea, my mom too.
I have had no use for barbershops and salons for a long while so I don’t have a vague clue on haircut styles or the popular spots for coiffing.
Mister Brown’s has that cool hipster vibe that everything in this part of the world seems to have these days. My barber Mike even sports a quite stylish beard.
Immediately upon checking in for my appointment I was offered a beverage of my choice and put to ease about being out of the game for so long.
I received a great fade with straight razor touch ups for what I believe is a reasonable $ 30.
Will return for my next cut and styling advice.

A little $$ but worth it. Advice try A different barber each time until you find the one that understands what you want. The first time I went there and I found my barber. However, I forgot to remember his name. I’ve gone back a few time since. Still good but not what I want. I’ll keep going back until I find the one I want.
Plus the owner is super chill. Show up about 15 minutes early have a beer and dare to touch the pristine pool table. It looks so clean I haven’t touched it yet.

I have searched various barber shops, and couldn’t really find a good fit until I went to Mr. Browns. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by Mister Brown himself, and handed an ice cold PBR with a coozie. The shop is beautifully done, the music is on point, there is a pool table and most importantly their cuts are DOPE! I have seen 3 of the barbers and all have been STELLAR and very cool peeps. Being a woman that goes to a barber, I have encountered a lot of male barbers that are obviously not happy to have a female client, not here they treat everyone the same. Very hip, chic barber shop. Appointments only, parking can be tricky but I love this spot and it is worth it every time. They also have really top of the line hair products.

This is the best barbershop. Awesome customer service, great haircuts and a fair price. I have had many barbers there cut my hair and they all did a great job.
The vibe of the shop is what I would call comfortable classy. They always have a good mix of music and a game on the tv if that’s your thing.
Lee, the owner, is on top of creating a great customer experience. Fletcher was who cut my hair last and I am pleased with how my hair looks-​and so is my lady.
The only thing you need to know is that because this place is so rad, you may need to make an appointment at least a few days in advance. It’s worth the extra $ that it costs more than cookie cutter soulless corporate chain shops, but isn’t as expensive as your lady’s foofoo salon.
Look good and support a great local business.

Great cuts! A real man’s barber shop. Fast, friendly and wait free service. But price is alittle over the edge. Highly recommended if you have alittle extra to spend.

This review is long overdue, as I have had the pleasure of having my haircuts here for over a year now. For over a year now, each visit has been great and I feel confident in saying that there is no other shop in the county that rivals Mister Brown’s in terms of quality and overall experience.
Mister Brown’s aims to provide more than just a haircut, but an overall experience. The atmosphere of the shop is aided by a careful blend of the aesthetics, customer service, and a quality product. The barbers are all knowledgeable, personable, and professional. In addition to haircuts, the shop carries a wide range of pomades, gels, and grooming products including beard and mustache wax/​combs. Like others have mentioned, complementary refreshments and a pool table to pass the time both contribute to the hospitable environment of the shop.
Beyond the pleasing aesthetics and great customer service, the shop excels in the category that ultimately matters the most: haircuts. Travis has cut my hair for over a year now, and I have always been satisfied with how my haircut turned out. I have a somewhat difficult head of hair to cut (double cowlick, funky hairline) but he has always done a great job in suggesting styles that will work for me. Sitting in the chair you get time to observe other barbers apply their craft, and from haircuts to beard trims I am always very impressed with the finished looks of the clientele.
