Martin and Nicole remodeled our old kitchen a few years ago. It was an awesome experience from start to finish. What I loved the most is Nicole was honest in the time line and what to expect. No false promises. It was the easiest remodel project I’ve ever done!!!

my husband and I would like anyone that is considering any remodeling of kitchen or baths to know just one thing about MK&B…Martin and Nicole are a class act and they delivered over and above on every bit of our contract with them! From the moment we walked into their showroom, we were treated with excellent customer service and respect for OUR wishes and our budget. They worked with us every step of the way from that first meet and greet to the very last imaginable last drop of paint and NEVER gave us any doubt that we were not important to them and worth their time and attention.
MK&B had excellent employees and subcontractors who we trusted enough to give our house keys to, to work while we were away from our home. You might say «crazy» but once you met them you would understand. Trustworthy people and company all around.
Workmanship was wonderful and quality products were available to choose from. I recommend them and would not hesitate to call on them again. The old saying is always true, you get what you pay for and in this case… we even got a bonus! Great people make a great company!

Similar to a couple of other reviewers, we do not recommend you wasting your time. We were greeted with two women with smiling faces who were very nice but once we went to look around at the showroom we were asked by a man if we needed any help. He immediately told us that the minimum for a basic job was 15k. Once I gave him a little information he told me the minimum was 25k and a bathroom could cost up to 75k. I was not looking into anything glamorous nor did I actually look at materials that would lead him to believe that I was looking for something out of the ordinary. I felt that this man was making a judgement call a little to quickly about us. I am sure we will find someone else to re-​model our bath with better people skills and better quality products. The showroom did not show anything but every basic of remodeling anyway.

After 12 years of living in my condo, I had finally saved up enough for a bathroom remodel. After doing some research on multiple contractors in San Diego County, I decided to go with MKB. The four estimates I received from the contractors ranged from $ 9000 to $ 20,000. MKB was in the middle of the road at $ 15K.
When I went to the showroom on a Saturday afternoon, it was somewhat busy. I was able to look around and see what they have. The co-​owner, Nicole, came up to me and asked what I was looking for and the type of job.
What I appreciated most about the process, I never felt pressured to commit to them. When the other co-​owner, Martin, became available — we set up a time for him to come out to the condo to get an estimate. While I was in the showroom I was able to start picking out items before getting an estimate. This was great! I found this process also helps them to give an accurate estimate. With the counter tops, vanity, tub, faucets, etc picked out they were able to contact the cabinet maker with my measurements to get the exact cost. That means during the project there will be no «add ons».
After deciding to go with MKB, they gave me a start date of 2 months. So I needed to be patient. That also meant that this is a busy company, so if you are looking for someone to start right away this may not be the contractor for you.
About two weeks before the project start date I get a call from them saying they are able to start sooner. AWESOME!!!
Project got started and Admiral contacted me the morning of to let me know he was on the way. Which was helpful. Admiral was very professional and took the time to lay down tarps to protect my carpet and flooring. He asked questions to verify everything in the scope of work.
There was one hiccup with one of the cabinets that happened during shipping. Unfortunately that did cause a bit of a delay, however the owner handled it very professionally.
I am a real customer and have the pictures to prove it (not to mention the cancelled checks).
I also appreciated that their website spells out their process and even has pictures of the two possible employees that come out and do the work. That is another plus for me, there is only one guy coming out to your home every day and not multiple people trampling in and out all day. The only time I saw other guys was the day of the counter-​top install. The counter-​top company does the installation.
If I could give another star for customer service I would!!!
When I get money saved up again for the kitchen, I will definitely contact them again.

What a prick of a salesman I just dealt with. Upon entering he doesn’t even tell me his name and just begins asking me qualifying questions to see if my project is worthy enough for them. He basically talked down to me like I was some peon and had no clue what I was doing (which was/​is not the case).
He (ghoatee salesman) told me 3 times in 2 minutes that our projects are usually $ 15,000K plus jobs. It’s like he wanted me to say «O, that’s too much money for me.» But I didn’t say that once and was/​am actually interested in remodeling the kitchen and bathroom of my new house and came into their store to get a consultation and guidance on my project (which I did not get).
I decided to end the visit short and told the salesman that his customer service stinks and he clearly didn’t want my business. He didn’t make any attempt to salvage my bad experience nor apologize for being a prick.
This store’s Unilocal reviews must be fake. Their website, reviews and «process» online sound great, but there is no substance when you actually visit them. I’d avoid and go elsewhere.

It’s one thing to pay for a service and have it done as you wanted, yet customer service is another thing entirely. Even a company that does great work could have terrible customer service and leave you an unsatisfied customer because of the experience.
While we will not have our bathroom renovated by Miramar Kitchen and Bath, I was floored by their customer service!
We are in the middle of a home renovation and our contractor asked us to provide certain «extras» to our liking, not in our scope of work, to save us money. Part of those extras is finding a great vanity with sink and fixtures to complete our bathroom scheme. So we looked up vanity suppliers online and decided we wanted to go to a showroom to see examples.
As I approached the door to this store I realized right away they were a contractor that installed and renovated kitchens and baths, and not a supplier or cabinet store. I was bummed, since it started to feel like we made the trip up to Miramar from National City for nothing.
A friendly man named Martin came up to us and he told us they are a building contractor and couldnt sell us a vanity, but he then spent a good deal of time talking to us about vanities, wood, varnish quality, and he offered us advice on where to go for what we were looking for. What a relief to have a professional explain this to you, especially when they don’t have to! He told us what sorts of stores to avoid, what to look for, even explained cabinet styles and helped us gauge what we are looking for more specifically.
Suffice it to say, we left this place enlightened about bathroom vanities, went directly to the store he suggested, and made an online order and we are very happy with it.
This is uncommon these days, providing customer service to the homeowning community in San Diego. Businesses want to pull you this way and that, boggle you do with way too many options. Martin took his time with us and narrowed down our search and gave us a better night’s sleep after we ordered an important addition to our bathroom remodel. Who does that? Martin, of Miramar Kitchen and Bath does!

First impressions are everything and I had one that wasn’t great. My family and I walked in looking for materials for my bathroom. The salesman came up and asked if there was something we were looking for in particular and we decided to start with vanities. He immediately told us that they only do remodels and everything they have you can only get if you’re doing a remodel and immediately told us to go to Home Depot, Lowes or Dixiline if we were looking for a vanity/​something cheaper. We didn’t even get 2 words out before he tried to just push us out of the place. The thing is, I’m doing a complete remodel of my condo, and he didn’t even bother to ask. We were definitely turned off and didn’t think it necessary to go any further. They should really up their customer service and consider how they treat people when they walk through their doors.

We had Miramar K&B do our bathrooms in 2007. Jeff was super helpful and got most color and tile decisions done in one short sit down, project went smoothly and on time and budget.
We just had Miramar do our Kitchen. This time we were way more high maint. And Jeff was still up for the task. we had a budget, but based on us going out of kitchen a tad went slightly over. We wanted everything to be perfect and not only did Jeff coordinate well with us, but me stopping by the show room for little things like grout or other stuff, Nicole&Martin were always helpful as well. Our kitchen came out great! Every person that worked on our home was courteous and timely. We are happy with this outfit and would recommend them to everyone

I highly recommend Miramar Kitchen & Bath for your remodel ! They worked on 3 of our family homes and did great work on kitchens and bathrooms. Assisted from the beginning in selection of materials, designing changes and the actual work. Always punctual and timely manner in all their work. Really kept to the schedule. Even a year later, when I had need of assistance, Martin came over and repaired something that could not be resolved by a dealer’s repairman. Most impressive. Thank you Martin and Nicole!

After comparing a few companies that remodel bathroom Miramar bath stood out among their competitors. They have a great selection, fair prices, and great customer service.
We just has both bathrooms gutted and remodeled by this company, and we are very pleased with the work. Martin was great to work. He understood our budget and outlined all of our options so we could have the bathrooms we wanted. Each bathroom was completed in a reasonable time frame with great attention to the details. We have received many compliments on the work done.
I highly recommend this company.

Miramar Kitchen & Bath had a package deal that they liked to promote, I’d been seeing the ads for a while, so when it came time to renovate one of the bathrooms we gave them a call. It’s been nine years and I can still remember the salesman’s name — Jerry. That never happens. Jerry was congenial and helpful, answered all our questions. We remodeled one bathroom and what a difference it made.
We were so pleased with the results that before long we decided to do the other bathroom as well. Same thing. There was one difference. In this bathroom the worker discovered some nonstandard piping or plumbing. I’m not surprised, sometimes I think everything in this development was cobbled together with nonstandard standards. He already had the old tub out, which is when he discovered this anomaly. We got a quick and reasonable quote, the worker busted out the jackhammer and got it taken care of. The second bathroom looks as wonderful as the first.
It’s been eight or nine years since we’ve had Miramar Kitchen & Bath in here but I still appreciate the difference they’ve made in this home every day.

I wouldn’t recommend MKB with a clear conscience after we were treated with such poor customer service. I was so very disappointed with their inability to work in an area where parking is limited.
We went to their design center and picked out the materials for two bathrooms and made it very clear that parking in our neighborhood (Bankers Hill) was limited. On the day they were due to be at our residence, we received a call that they had been driving around and could not find parking. We never thought it would be a big deal for someone to walk a short block (yes, I went out and checked after the call and there was plenty of parking down the street which is less than a one minute walk).
Their consultant (Martin) was very rude and we were also told that the owners would not allow them to work under these conditions. What conditions? There are places all over San Diego that have the same issue! If we were asked, we would have been more than happy to place one of our cars out from the garage and save them a space.
Martin clearly demonstrated to me that MKB did not need our business. They lost out on our business and the recommended business that would have been sent their way. This attitude and lack of customer service is something that is inexcusable and something that I cannot and will no tolerate, especially when parting with 20K. Guess business is good for MKB if they can afford to treat customers like this.

I wouldn’t use MKB unless you have infinite patience.
After going through the design phase with them I was given a start date for construction and signed the contract. Two days before the start date Martin informed me that the 2^nd biscuit pan they ordered arrived damaged. Seems the first one did as well. He had to check on the arrival date for the 3^rd biscuit pan which turned out to be 6 to 8 weeks later. So I posed a question to him about what his contingency plan would be if the 3^rd biscuit pan arrived damaged. A fair question since this part takes 6 to 8 weeks to get.
Martin shoved me off to the owner who replied with a snarky email that I basically had three choices.
1. Wait 6 to 8 weeks and hope the part arrives undamaged.
2. Order one in all white (which I didn’t want), which only takes a week, and hope that it arrives undamaged.
3. Cancel the contract.
Needles to say I took option 3.
The owner’s email clearly demonstrated to me that MKB did not need my business. I had actually wanted MKB to remodel both of my bathrooms and Martin knew this. So they lost out on two remodel jobs.
This attitude is something I can’t stand with home remodeling companies, especially when I’m willing to part with 20K in hard earned cash. Guess business is good for MKB if they can afford to treat customers like this.

If you want a quality bathroom remodel at a fair price, done on time, you should contact these folks. Jeff was wonderful at following up and continually emailed and called to discuss our remodel. Tony was on time and worked hard everyday to get our job finished quickly. All I have to say is that I really appreciate finding such a professional contractor, while not breaking the bank.

Miramar Kitchen and Bath has done 2 bathrooms for us over the years and I have always been extremely happy with their work. Their workers show up on time and work hard throughout the duration of the job. Jeff especially is a true gem and will go above and beyond for you. He is very knowledgeable about every aspect of the industry and really makes you feel at ease that you are in great hands. If you are doing any work on your home, always check for reviews on Unilocal and the BBB because there are so many sub-​par companies. Miramar Kitchen and Bath has stood the test of time when many others have come and gone because they do great work, they work within your budget, and treat each customer with respect and care. I can’t say enough great things about them and highly recommend them.

Miramar Kitchen & Bath remodeled our two bathrooms one year ago, and it still makes me happy to look around at all the improvements they made. We told Nicole what we had in mind ~~ she listened well and even improved on our original ideas.
There were many improvements, but I’ll describe just one. When we first sat down in their showroom, I told Nicole that the shower in our master bathroom was disgusting. Ever since we moved in, I had tried to make the caulking and tile look clean but I couldn’t get rid of the moldy look. She suggested demo’ing that shower and lining it with cultured marble instead of tile. Yes! It looks good and is a breeze to keep clean. That cultured marble matches the vanity top with its integral bowl, coved backsplash, etc.
More good news. They stayed within our budget.

They were great. They are friendly, professional, and honest.
We had them remodel our bathroom and could not have gone better. They walked us through everything at their showroom, going over options & upgrades, how they work, and what materials they use. They then came out and took measurements and gave us a quote. We went back to the showroom to pick actual colors in the product lines we had already selected and sign the paperwork.
They started the day they said they would, and their installer (we had Tony) was always on time. He was very courteous, clean, and worked very hard (up to 5 pm every day). He put down tarps every where he worked and walked, and cleaned up at the end of each day (even outside sawdust). He communicated frequently during the day keeping me informed of what he was doing.
We had some repair work to do that they could not tell the extent of until they started demo so they could see what hidden damage there was. They gave me a quote based on what the time and materials would be, but at the end of the week were honest with what they really used (less than projected) and reduced the price and ended up coming in less than the original showroom quote.
All contractors should learn from how they do business.
