History

Established in 1992.

Started Teaching Golf in 1992 after selling another business. Had played golf on weekends with friends but never thought I would become a

PGA Professional. My first job was as an assistant at Stardust Country Club in 1990, received my membership into the PGA of America in 1994. I taught there until it closed down in 1995 and then made the move up to Stadium Golf Center where I still teach.

My name is Mike Nokes I was born and raised in San Diego. I’m a Class A PGA Teaching professional at Stadium Golf Center since we opened in 1995. In 1990 I decided to get into the golf business with my first job as an assistant golf professional at Stardust CC in Mission Valley. My teaching philosophy is to bring out the confidence in my students ability to learn. I understand that everyone is different and so what you bring to the table, what is natural for you will help me be able to convey ideas and techniques in a fundamental way so you can understand your own swing.

What has helped my success during a golf lesson is to get my students to hit shots as good as they can using correct fundamentals, their swings might not be where we want it at that point. Confidence sets in and learning process accelerates.
