My girlfriend took me here on my birthday. Wow it is the best deal in town! I thought I was going in for a foot massage but they ended up massaging my head, arms, legs, back and of course my feet. I have been to a lot of places but this is really a great deal and they do a wonderful job! Not sure why anyone would give bad recommendations. I am planning to go back many times again!

I went for a foot massage and it turned out to be nearly a full body massage. Absolutely loved it. Very relaxing massage for 20 dollars for 1 hr.

Could say a lot of things but«I just can’t even» just seems best suited for my experience.

My husband and I were both feeling achy and were in need of a quick massage. We’ve been to a few other places like this on Midway that provided a pretty decent massage for cheap. We usually temper our expectations at places, I mean you get what you pay for right but this massage place did not deliver even the minimum. The masseur was very rough in his massage technique, had very dry hands and had a cold so he kept snorting/sniffling. Overall I think I like Point Loma Massage better which is right across the street.

Terrible? That’s not enough of a description. Abusive? Do not go if you have any minor injury. The guy who worked on me spoke no English. I asked for a female and I get an «ok» from him. Instead, he proceeded to do the session. His touch is abrasive and he pushes on you. He kept yawning and left me after he was done on the front side of my body. I waited 5 minutes until I stood up to find him. I asked if we were done and he just had me get back down(using his hands to usher me toward the table). When he had me face down, he seriously pounded on my back without any caution for the spine. I choked as he shoved my chest into the table which also pushed my throat into the table. I’m not a feeble female and I was able to walk out not completely hurt but I warn you not to go in if you have sensitivities. The décor/ambience is bland and almost has a backyard feeling. Save your $ 20 and pay for a real massage somewhere else.

This place USED to be awesome. I lived right down the street and could stop in for a $ 20 foot massage and leave very happy. The lady was always super nice and friendly and gave me a great massage. But now every time I go I can’t wait for it to be over. The guy is way to brutal. I like deep massages, but damn… Both times I have been so sore the next day that I could barely move cause my back hurt so bad. Also, i feel $ 7 tip on a $ 20 horrible massage is way more then enough as far as I’m concerned, but they look down on you and scoff like it’s not enough. My wife just went there and had a horrible time as well. She gave him $ 5 and he kept his hand out and just looked at her. Literally MADE her tip him more. We will never return here. I advise the business owners to get a grip on their business.

I love Midway Foot Massage. I am not sure why a lot of people are leaving them bad reviews. I go to this place twice a month to get the $ 201hr foot massage and it is worth every penny. They massage the entire body including the head & they massage my feet extremely well. I understand why they ask you to pay up front. A couple of months ago while I was getting a massage, a customer just left without paying when the masseuse went to the back to return the warm towel. How rude is that? None of the masseuse smells like smoke whenever I get a massage there. I highly recommend this place.

I love this place and I go here often. It’s only $ 20 for a foot massage and they massage your entire body. I usually tip at least $ 15. Well worth it. Never had to wait in line either.

Overall good place for walk-in massage. Someone else commented that they make you pay first, I did not have that issue… they ask if you want to and I had no problem paying first so that’s what I did. She wasn’t rude or forceful about it and didn’t ask for a tip first. Neither of the 2 people smelled like smoke either. The guy that did my massage was good, no complaints. I got the foot massage which is 20 $ for 1hour. Tip for ladies is wear your hair down because they massage your head, I had my hair in a huge bun so he could only do it half way which was very sad because it felt so good haha. I would go back for the 31 $ I paid.(20 $ plus 11 $ tip) it was great. I do suggest giving a decent tip, its kind of rude not to.

We used to patronize this shop regularly. Their service is advertised as $ 20 for a foot massage. The massage itself is actually more of a full body(clothed) massage, not unlike similar«foot» massages advertised in many local massage parlors. We had to stop coming here for two unfortunate reasons: 1) The first reason is that the masseuses all smoke, openly outside on the front patio, just outside the front door of the shop. This in itself is a poor practice. Not because I have something against smokers, but because it is unprofessional. Beyond that the masseuses have a heavy smoke smell on them(including their breath). This is supposed to be a relaxing experience. It should not feel like you’re getting a back rub from your local pub crawler between shots. 2) The second reason is that we are nearly accosted by the cashier every time we go to check out. They want to be paid up front(what?) and ALWAYS ask how much we intend to tip! When I say I will handle that at the end, they become more forceful. I don’t want to be bullied into tipping. If I like the massage, I will tip… generously, but if I don’t like the massage, I will not tip. That is how the tip system works in this country. The cashiers rely on being bold and intimidating. Don’t be taken in. In fact, just take your business somewhere else. To the ownership: Get rid of all your masseuses who smoke and leave the tipping to the customers.

My wife and I went for their foot treatment — what a treat! We came out fully relaxed and feeling rested and refreshed. The staff(especially John and Yin Yin) were friendly and very professional. The décor needs some help, but for $ 20 it’s okay, and the wonderful foot and body massage more than make up for it. Besides which, my eyes were closed most of the time(I think I may have actually drifted off). Great place to come for a relaxation and stress-busting break.

After nearly twenty massages here and countless others elsewhere it is time to give credit where due. As with any personal service a massage is a little different each time. I’ve always had a good massage here and some are better others. Maybe, I get treated better because I’m a regular and take a few seconds to introduce myself to the person who is going to have their hands all over my body for any hour. After reading some of other reviews it seems a few people aren’t clear on the concept of a foot massage. It starts, usually in common room, with a foot soak in hot mineral water then proceeds to a clothed full body massage. If you want a body massage, you get undressed in a private room and get a full body massage with a lot of time working over the back. When there is a particular part of my anatomy that needs extra care, I point it out. I agree there are some language issues, but usually the manager is there and can translate any special requests. I am not fond of the smell of cigarettes. So, I request a non smoker. Sometimes that means waiting. Tips are an issue because nearly every massage business advertises the same price and the prices have stayed the same for years. If you can’t afford ten or twenty dollars for a tip, it is probably best to stay home.

Came here and tried their foot massage, which I like a full body massage. They start with feet and go to your head and back. The foot massage was not that bad, but you are in one room with like 6 other people and the guy massaging kept talking, therefore its not very relaxing. Later when he got to my head I couldn’t get over the fact that he smelled of smoke and was snapping his gum right in front of my face. The back massage had way too much presure and I was left very sore for the next two days. Overall the massage was very unprofessional and did not feel good.

Um $ 20 dollah for ah make you hollah«foot» massage??? yes.please. Realtalk: this place is low on frills and sometimes you gotta give a chatty cathy masseur an evil eye to STFU. They may or may not be given handy’s in the back, but for twenty bucks, they give me a full hour, clothes on rub down, so I’ll allow it.

I have been here 3 times now. Twice for a foot massage and once for a full body massage. They have a guy Phil who does good work. Yesterday when I went, the first thing that happened was they were chasing this poor man outside(2 or 3 ladies) telling him, «Sir, you have to tip.» Apparently he had just left and they felt he hadn’t left a tip. He seemed confused! He said, «I left it on the table.» This went on and on. So I have my foot massage and this was a new guy for me. He was fine, but dug his elbows too deep into my back. The interesting thing is they started at 2:10 and I was back in my car at 3:02. So at best, it was 50 minutes — not an hour. The first time I went it seemed quieter and cleaner in there. Didn’t seem that way yesterday. Hope they get it goether and give people the full 60 minutes. I did tip the guy $ 10, but I would not have if I realized it was only 50 minutes. Also, he went directly from me and started another customer. No hand washing in between. Guess it’s true, you get what you pay for.

I didn’t know what to expect seeing this is my first foot massage. After a long night of partying, my feet really needed some therapy so I came here hoping to alleviate some pains at the arch of my footsies. I was excited since all these Unilocalers raved about the whole body being included into the $ 20 package. When i arrived, i noticed that it was a communal room with 7 or so beds. It made me feel funny that i didnt have any type of privacy. Around the room, i noticed random signs to promote tipping well and also to watch your belongings. It made me uneasy to think that my purse was in danger and it was hard to keep an eye on it because they put a towel over my face. As for the experience, I thought my masseuse was very unprofessional – no smiles, no introduction but expected me to be comfortable letting him rub his hands all over me. Right when he started, i noticed his hands smelled like his lunch, which was absolutely disgusting. Another thing that bothered me was he just pulled my bra strap down to work on my shoulders with no warning. I didn’t like that at all. As far as the rest of the massage go, i thought he was too rough on his rubbing – to a point of pain. When he was working on my back, he pushed down so hard, i was having a hard breathing. I’m pretty sure he left some bruises. Since it was a foot massage, i expected special attention on my feet, but I was wrong, he may have spent 5 minutes or so on each foot… LAME! Overall, the massage didn’t relax me at all. In fact, I don’t actually think it did anything for me. I kinda wished i used that 25 bucks to eat at Phils instead. Pretty sure I’m not going back. Howeverrrr, as i was leaving i saw a place across the street called point loma foot massage, maybe i’ll go there next time my feet takes a beating.

At first this place was a dream. Quiet atmosphere, nice cheap massage. You lay on a bed with a warm towel covering you eyes. Your feet are placed into a warm water bucket. The massage is full body for $ 20. Make sure to bring a tip since they are pretty bad and making change for $ 40. I stopped going since they hired more staff and they didn’t seem as concerned about making the place a good experience. I was basically pummeled the last time I was there even though I told them I wanted a lighter touch. The masseuse was also a smoker which was distracting, on top of the fact he had just had sushi. You definitely get what you pay for.

My boyfriend and I checked this place out last night on a friend’s recommendation. We each got an hour long foot massage and got to sit next to each other in the room. It was a great experience for such an awesome deal, $ 20 bucks for a full hour! What’s great is that the masseuse still works on your neck, back, shoulders, and arms, even though thy do spend the majority of time on your feet and legs. I wasn’t aware that this is what Chinese foot massages are as it was later explained to me, so DUH me for that, but it was a nice surprise. The staff is super friendly, though it’s very clear English is not their first language, so be prepared for that if you’ve never been to a Chinese massage. Also be prepared for them trying to sell you their special deals, or adding on more to what you ask for, just know this is what you gotta deal with, and be firm on what you want. I will definitely be coming back again, next time to try the full body massage which is an hour for $ 40.
