Mid-City Community Clinic

I understand if the people who work here are busy. But they don’t have to be abrupt and unfriendly!
Every time I am sick and call them to schedule an appt, not only are they booked too much, they are also rude and unfriendly. They interrupt me when I call them and say, in a very unfriendly, cold voice, «We don’t have openings.»
If you want to keep patients, please act a little more professional and manage your low-​grade anger. There is a difference between busy and irritable. Thanks.

Our family moved to San Diego a year ago and finding a clinic and pediatrician we liked has been hell! Other clinics seem to be way to busy for any kind of quality work and lack basic communication skills. From the first time I called the mid-​city clinic, I really felt listened to and not rushed! Reception was nice and polite… something I have yet to experience with other clinics. Appointments we made and we’re not pushed off for weeks or even months! Quality pediatricians are hard to come by in sd and very few accept tricare. I hope to have a good experience in clinic as well in a few days and I will update the review accordingly.

This has been my daughters doctor for years but It’s been going down hill and I’ve tried to stick it out because I love the convenient location and the benefits of going to a place that knows my child but it’s impossible. This place has merged with a company called san diego family care, and the staff is rude, some I can’t understand because they don’t speak English well, and for billing they don’t take cards you have to actually go down to there linda vista location or mail a check to linda vista. There’s no number to call to inquire about the bill and when you call (formally know as Mid City) location, there is a receptionist named Gracie who sounds like she hates her job, and doesn’t know how to get in touch with any biller and has no information what’s so ever about who to get into contact with. Worse place to go… sad soooo sad service. Was told by LETICIA that if I knew how to read thats is how I get my results. The drs dont give you results we print it on a paper and you read your results. Wow lol so I have to become a dr first to then get a print out of my conditions to find out if I have any health problems lol lol thanks LETICIA for you rude and disrespectful comment. waste of time. Intern drs. Some staff not qualified to be there. Its a shame how others are treated if they have no money. This place should be better supervised. Sad very sad

I’ve had outstanding care there for several years now… the doctors actually listen! And although it’s not fancy, they have up to date computers, a well trained staff and I’ve often not had to wait long at all.
If I ever get rich I’ll endow them or something!

Very helpful, reliable! Whenever I call, the staff is very professional and friendly. Remember, if you drive, not to schedule you appointments on the 2^nd and 4^th Tuesdays due to Street Sweeping $ 52.50 ticket.

I have been going to the North Park Family Health center for all of my necessary doctor appointments, I’ve been so let down with them I decided to try this clinic. I have never felt more taken care of by a community clinic. This place has a very warm and welcoming staff and a very short waiting time. They were quick to get me an appointment this morning, and my Doctor (Della) thoroughly examined the issues at hand and left me feeling relieved and taken care of. I will never go to NPFHC ever again, this place is wonderful for people of low income and without insurance. They even have their own small private pharmacy with common medicine for sale for the patients at cost. Wonderful wonderful wonderful!

You know I had forgotten how great this clinic is. I had taken advantage of their services years ago while living in North Park and found myself amongst the unemployed masses. Now, I am one of many whom struggle to make ends meet with an upstart business and unfortunately can not afford independent health insurance costs. For now on, I will not hesitate to drive the extra mile to put my trust and health in the care of the great staff at Mid city Community Clinic.
Four years ago I had moved further away from Mid City and regrettably went to another Health «Care» center closer to home. This other health «Care» center was more than happy to take my hard earned money only to have me waste ridiculous amounts of time of my day to be seen even though I was informed to return at a specific time to been seen first and end up being the last in the waiting room. They always made me feel unwelcome and even worse for a health «care» center they genuinely don’t care about you and it shows from the reception to the practitioners. So not the case at Mid City Community Clinic!
If your like me with limited options for uninsured medical care you must go to Mid City. I called 900 Monday morning and was set up with an appointment at 130 the same day. I felt welcome at the reception desk, I dealt with a pleasant, professional, customer service staff member at the cashier desk, and most importantly I was seen by Dr Martha Ibarra whom genuinely listened to me about my health concerns and issues, without making me feel like I was wasting time out of her precious day. I was seriously losing hope and faith in finding this kind of humane treatment with in a community clinic.
If you don’t have health insurance it is cash only to be seen which was not a major issue since it is a more than affordable slide scale based upon your current monthly income. To be honest, my visit (INCLUDING 4 DIFFERENT PRESCRIPTIONS) were less expensive than a monthly payment for employee health insurance through my previous employers!

I can’t say enough about this place! This clinic has been serving the community for a long time now, but I avoided them because I confused them with another clinic who shall remain nameless. That and another unfortunate memory out of this location, plus a series of uncooperative doctors at the old mobile clinic tainted my impression of most doctors and community clinics.
Ahhh, but how I love being proven wrong! So far, it’s been a dream being a patient here, and I am grateful to be under their care, right down to the warm smiles of the staff in the front office…
