Last week my Dr’s office called to tell me they were no longer refilling a prescription until I came in. This had been an auto renewal prescription that I was unaware was expiring. I clearly feel it is my responsibility to know when I need to see a dr, but a heads up in advance instead of just «no more» for an important prescription would have been nice.
As this was New Year’s Eve and subsequent weekend, I could not even get in touch with them until Monday, January 4^th. Fine, called and made an appt. The woman who answered the phone was so rude, I couldn’t even finish what I was saying before she cut me off and asked my phone # to see if I was an actual patient. She did mention that they had moved locations and I said ok, good to know, I will google you and get directions. Appt set, be there 15 min ahead, awesome.
Whe googling Metro Family Physicians, when it comes up and you click on directions, it takes you to their OLD location, which is what I did and where I ended up. There are several buildings so I didn’t think much of it, they moved offices, same area, it was new to me so how would I know differently.
As a result, I complete missed not only my early arrival but my entire appt as a whole because the directions are not accurate. I drove around for 45 minutes, had to ask two people and then eventually stop inside the ER near their old location to figure out that this was wrong and they had moved to a completely new neighborhood and I was in the wrong area. Again, how would I know based upon telling the receptionist I would Google them and find them.
Cut to today, I call right when the opened and they got me in, which was great and appreciated, as I was now almost a week without my prescription. Again, I was cut off and asked my phone number because what I had to say clearly didn’t matter at all to the woman on the other end of the phone. After setting it up, I mentioned that when you look them up, it sends you in the wrong direction and to their old location. Her reply was «oh yeah, you have to type our new address or it will do that». What!!! I couldn’t believe she knew this and the business is aware and no one does anything about it or warns customers who clearly say this is how they will find you. What a waste of time and energy on my part and an appt spot taken on their end that could ha r gone to someone else with some better communication and update info.
When I actually got to my appt, despite the waiting room smelling like someone just ate some sort of Asian food at the front desk (very unappealing) and it being a small box of a waiting room with lots of people waiting and a slightly friendlier receptionist… Slightly, once I was called back to the back and actually dealt with the medical teams, they were professional, gave good care and recommendations.
After reading other reviews, I have to agree that once you get through the front desk, it’s great. But, what a hassle trying to find the new location and communicate what’s going on. The medical assistant Tammy and PA I saw were great, it’s just getting to them that is a hassle.
Update: changing to one star because my prescription that I rely on and have been without for a week now and what started this whole fiasco never got sent in! I honestly have to say that although the medical portion of staff was great, this place is absolutely not worth the absolute stress and hassle I have gone through and will continue to go through again tomorrow because they’re closed now so it waits yet another day. So frustrated! If they could get one thing right, it would be a miracle. Really a shame.

Really disappointed w this clinic. I never see a doctor always an NP and when I really need to get in for an appt I’m told it is a week wait. Ridiculous. Never coming here again.

Dr. Sadrieh! It took us a while to finally meet her, but now that we have I am so glad we stuck around. She is my Doctor and also serves as my infant twins’ doctor.

I am in pain and my doctor has no intention of doing anything about it! I came in for back pain. It turns out I have to take physical therapy to resolve this sciatica, but in the meantime, I am in constant level 8 to 9 (out of 10) pain, especially at work, and this prevents me from being able to do my job, sit at a desk. Shoot, even standing hurts. The doctor was supposed to prescribe pain meds so I can manage while going through the physical therapy. After two months of weak prescriptions that barely even touch my pain, I am out of meds and the doctor refuses to refill and refuses to prescribe anything stronger than 7.5 mg of Norco that is mixed with 325 mg of Tylenol. Taking 3 times the prescribed dosage killed 75% of the pain. They also prescribed anti-​inflammatory which does absolutely nothing for my pain. They also prescribed a muscle relaxer, which helped in conjunction with the Norco, but nonetheless, still in 25% pain at best. Rather than seeing that my pain is much greater than the prescription and raising the dosage or choosing another pain killer that actually works, they decided I have taken enough pain pills and am cut off for the next two weeks. Had they prescribed good meds the first time, I would have not had to go through so many week pills. This is so frustrating. I told them from the get go, I have high tolerance so skip the week stuff. They ignored my request. In a world with Percocet, OxyContin and Morphine, it boggles my mind how they keep telling me that Vicodin is as strong as they can go, which is BS no matter how you slice it. They only care about people who have low tolerance for medication. Someone with high tolerance for medication is viewed as a drug abuser and is left to suffer in pain. I come to my doctor for help with issues like pain. What’s the point if they do nothing for your pain. The latest is they told me to go the the emergency room if I am in so much pain. So I did, $ 100 co-​pay I cannot afford, so I left. And then left another message for their emergency line, who calls me back from a blocked number and leaves a message telling me I am SOL. Thanks doctor, for nothing! I have been in so much pain for so long, I cannot wait to find a doctor who actually recognizes when their patients are in pain and actually helps them. Additionally, anytime you need a refill, you have to call during business hours (no option for after hours) and leave a message for the doc to return the call. Then you get a call 2 days later, so basically suffer for two days anytime you need them. This doctor sucks. They are weak and do not consider your individual needs. They take forever to help, and when they do, it barely even helps, if at all. Then, when you need them the most, they tell you the cannot help you anymore and push you off to the ER. Way to pass the buck doc! Thank you for not believing me and making me suffer for the few idiots out here who cannot handle their meds responsibly.
While Dr Sadrieh and NP Kristin O’Brien seemed nice at my initial check-​up, when I needed them the most, they abandoned me. Plus, I had to go to their office a few times to get answers to questions that were being ignored. They are poor with call backs, and they are also bad with responding to the pharmacy when they call for questions. While they are nice, they are not helpful and are quick to leave the office at the end of the day, and ignore any patients that are waiting for responses to their concerns. Which is why I had to go to their office, to make sure they replied to my pharmacy before leaving for the day, for the second day in a row.
Does anyone out there know a good doctor who actually helps patients who are in pain, even when the patients respond to meds less than other people do?

I saw some of the bad reviews on here and thought I would convey my experiences at this office. I have been going here for over 3 years now and have never had anything but pleasant experiences with the front office staff in person or over the phone. I have always been seen very quickly compared to other doctors, dentist etc. over the years. My physician is Dr. Sadrieh and she has always been extremely knowledgeable thorough with all my appointments and concerns over the years. I could not ask for a better physician.

I remember a few years back when they were at their old building… they had the WORST front desk staff EVER. I don’t know what is it with front desk jobs that makes people so bitter, so it is always the first thing I look at when choosing a doctor… or anything! Anyway, I decided to stick with Dr. Sadrieh because I thought she was wonderful the first time I had her. So I came back a few years later… and thank GOD they changed their staffs! Jasmine and the other two ladies that work there were all very sweet. I was called in almost right away and it didn’t take long at all for Dr. Sadrieh to come see me. Which was a major PLUS. The only reason I gave her four stars, was because like others have said, it felt like she rushed the appointment…

Just switched over from UCSD Healthcare and god am I relieved. I had been having troubles switching over and having my insurances and primary care doctors match up and be accepted and recognized, until my mother and I went to Metro Family Physicians Medical Group and had Maria, their office supervisor help us sort out the situation.
Without Maria I am not sure I would have gotten the appointments and referrals that I did a week out from the date we called (that were completely time sensitive as I am leaving the coutry in a month) or even had my insurance take the steps to have me properly enrolled. I cannot thank Maria or refer her helpfulness enough, because the medical industry can be so lazy and barely-​go-​through-​the-​motions type and I am so glad that Maria was there to connect on a personal and humanistic level, hear out our needs, and make then happen.

One of THE worst medical practices I have ever dealt with, and having been to other countries and battled cancer, that’s saying a lot! I am a medical professional, and after a 20+ foot fall down an open spiral staircase I went in complaining of SEVERE back pain. I was having numbness and tingling in my lower extremities, as well as a shifted gait, and pain that never went away (through heat/​rest/​ice) I came in post ER visit to obtain a better eval and 2ndary imaging. The doctor wasn’t available on short notice so I got a PA named Travis that was a completely overly confident and far too under-​educated to be dealing with the everyday public, ESPECIALLY when concerning something as serious as a SPINAL INJURY!!!
I was brushed off, and when evaluated I was told «I wish you wouldn’t have worn a dress, you’re making this exam very difficult»…BRO if you cant handle the female anatomy in a dress for a figure 4 stretch test then you are in the wrong career field!!! I was prescribed an NSAID and told that i must have just sprained it and not to expect it to get any better for 6 – 9 weeks. Travis, take one thing from this, listen to the patient, not your ego! When a Cancer patient and woman who has delivered 2 babies all naturally tells you shes in immense pain you should do all at your disposal to figure out why and return with answers! Because of you HORRID service and being left in staggering pain I went to the ER, this time off base, and was immediately given a CT and MRI showing MULTIPLE SLIPPED discs… you SOB! I’m too busy with neurospine appointments, and competent medical providers trying to fix this career shifting injury or I would make it a point to file a lawsuit towards this crackerjack office.

This was probably my best experience at a doctor’s office! The staff is very professional and sweet and I was glad to have chosen Dr. Sanas Sadrieh as my PCP.
Upon arrival, I was greeted by the receptionist, Jasmine, who was a total sweetheart my entire visit. She was very clear and patient with everyone she talked to while I was there. The check-​in process was super simple, as it is all electronic, and kind of fun, to be honest! :) I was super surprised that I was called in ON THE DOT for my appointment!
I don’t remember my NP’s name, but she was very nice and took her time to listen to my concerns for the doctor. She made me feel very welcome as well. Dr. Sadrieh did not take forever to come see me, and she was super nice, patient, welcoming, and understanding. She was NOT in a hurry to leave the room, listened to my concerns, and gave me all of the necessary information I asked for.
The entire visit took about 30 minutes, which is amazing for a healthcare visit! I am looking forward to coming back and having Dr. Sadrieh as my primary doctor. Thank you for the lovely visit, Metro Family!

Things seem to have turned around just as the manager stated. Everyone is very friendly, including the appointment schedulers, and I was able to schedule a same-​day appointment with Doctor Eros when it was needed. All this plus awesome doctors and nurses, and you have a perfect practice for the whole family. Thank you!

Love Dr. Sadriah! She takes the time to really chat with you and make you feel like she really cares.

I’ve been going there for a year now and I like my doctor. They are very nice and easy to talk but almost every time I call there I have a hard time talking with the stuff because they are just always rude. I usually make an appointment online just to avoid talking to them and ruin my day from that. But this time, I made an appointment almost 3 weeks before and I called Friday (my appointment was Monday) if it’s possible to change the time for my appointment since there was other things going on and was better if I could. They told me there’s no opening so I just decided to keep the original appointment and adjusted the other schedules. The morning of my appointment day, I got a phone call that the doctor is not available and have a open spot at 9am with other doctor so call them back at 7:30 am if I would like to take that spot. I called back at 7:30 and this lady who pick up my call was very rude. Basically they spot that she mentioned in the voice mail is no longer available and I had to reschedule my appointment all over agin. I also had to ask since I called in on Friday and they didn’t mentioned anything, why all the sudden doctor is not available today. And she told me that the doctor got sick .
Now, I do understand that we are all humans. We all get sick or have our own issues that you need to take care sometimes and I’m not angry about that. What upset me was this lady who took my phone had an attitude the whole time we were talking. No apologies for any of the inconvenience or anything. She ended up hanging up without saying «good bye» or «thank you for calling». It made my day start with a very bad feeling and I will really consider to change my doctor.

Update: On the day of our rescheduled appointment (after the scheduler deleted our original one) they informed us that the doctor can’t see us and will not have any availabilities for «quite awhile». They obviously don’t care about making good after their gigantic screw-​up. If they were truly sorry they would find an opening with our doctor, especially since now they are advertising that they can take same-​day appointments.

Dr Sadrieh is the best doctor I’ve ever had. I’ve had several hmo plans (30 years) and health care providers — over 10 different physicians. Dr. Sadrieh is the best! Very proactive with my health care and always staying on top of my wellness and we’ll being. She is always encouraging and positive to my current state of wellness. She takes a modern approach, and uses state of the art care to resolve any of my health issues. I must say that in the past, going to the doctor was not something I enjoyed doing. But believe it or not, I always look forward to interacting with my doctor Sadrieh! She is so nice and warm and encouraging. Very easy to talk to, such a great listener to my needs and you just feel comfortable sharing your health care needs around her. I highly recommend Dr Sadrieh!

Do not go here. The staff is incredibly rude and they obviously do not really care for their patients. I waited a month for an initial appointment with Dr. Eros. The day of my appointment I tried to call several times to confirm where the office was (since I hadn’t been there) and the time of my appointment. Every time I called (4 to be exact) from 9−11am I could not get through. So later when I apparently went to the wrong address and got lost trying to find what I thought was the correct building I called them back, well now their phones were apparently working again, but I was told I was at the wrong building and that I would have to reschedule even tho I was legitimately DOWN THE STREET. Not to mention I called exactly when I was supposed to be there. The receptionist very rudely told me that the doctor was already done for the day (1:15pm) and that I should have arrived 20 mins prior. Something that none had ever said to me before.
After waiting for a month to see a new doctor I got turned away due to their technical difficulties. Not to mention when I made the appointment none ever told me the address or to be there so early.
For someone with legitimate medical issues who recently moved to California and needs medical care this was a huge blow.

I get the feeling there was a major staff change here. All the same great docs, AND really nice, helpful, friendly office staff. My last several interactions with the staff were great. Whatever they changed was the right move. :)

Do you know what is worse than having to endure your first born son’s birthday every year, knowing that he will be forever 9 years old due to an untimely death? Having to also get a «happy birthday» automated message from the doctors office that saw him the day he died and failed to notice he was critically ill and undergoing organ failure. I have seriously sent them emails and voicemails 3 years running and am still getting these damn messages. Think twice if you go to Metro Family Physicians. They can’t get something as simple as an auto-​generated message fixed… how are they going to fix YOU!!!

I just love Dr. Sadrieh and her staff! I have been a patient with Dr. Sadrieh for maybe the last 4 – 5 years. She has seen me through so many ups and downs. The new office is just beautiful… not quite as convenient for me but I will continue to stay with them. They have flu clinics after work hours which made is so easy to get my flu shot too! I recently needed to get in for an ill appointment and couldn’t get in for a week. I’ve never had a difficult time getting in before but the receptionist kindly explained their situation of having a few nurse practioners leaving the practice. Of course I was not pleased but called early the next morning and was able to get in on a same day cancellation. Lucky me!
Dr Sadrieh always takes her time during appointments and is just so pleasant. I would recommend her to anyone I know… and recently just did.

I just signed up with Sharp Health Plan and wanted to find a good Primary Care Physician from the network that was good and also close to where I live. I found Dr. Sanas Sadrieh, who has good reviews online and I wanted to give her a shot. I will never know because the office management staff is quite incapable and messed up a routine scheduling and I got so fed up from the get go that I decided to not even try them out.
Being a Dr. and being a good business person are two different things, and unfortunately, for those who are in private practice, you have to be both, or at least hire a good office manager who can run the show of running a Dr’s office well. Whoever is in charge here is not doing a good job, and the staff, while they are probably doing the best that they can, are inadequately trained, or overwhelmed, or just incompetent, or some combination of the above.
Anyhow, I don’t have faith in the doctors when their office is poorly run. I am still looking for a good doctor to entrust my family’s medical services. This group practice is not it.
