Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Park

Totally good for the dogs and fun to run the hill. Plenty of room for any activity. Wish the main building was opened more often.

This park is a hidden treasure.
It’s a small quiet park that’s good for the whole family.
There are basketball courts, tennis courts, a pool area, a soccer/​baseball field and a recreation hall for special events, meetings etc.
On the same grounds as the park is a senior citizen center offering a daily lunch program to seniors, yoga, other fitness activities and computer awareness classes.
This park has two play ground areas for small children and several picnic areas.
It’s clean and well maintained, quiet, and private. It’s a great place to walk your pets and to enjoy a stroll up the steep hill. There is lots of available parking.
Local firemen use this park to train in and to exercise.

I like this park. It’s very clean and the grounds are well kept. The playground area for children is nice and it feels safe. A lot of people like going to the ‘better known’ parks for a walk but I really like this one because it’s not as crowded. Often times I’ve seen patrol units parked under a tree there at the park (the substation isn’t too far off, down the street). It’s a place for them to write their reports and catch up on their paper work in their cars as they wait for a call. I actually like that, its comforting that they make their presence known. The pool there is also gated and there’s privacy from the general public if you ever want to take a swim there.
Anyway, again, nice park, good atmosphere and very safe. Thanks City of San Diego for maintaining it well.

This is the closest park in our place and it has a little hill where you can run around, there are also some picnic tables and grilling station which is good for some bbq’s and hotdogs with friends and family. This park is not as huge as other parks but they do have a couple of basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball court, children’s playground, a recreation center, and an outdoor pool. I go here whenever i need a quick jog or just walk and that hill can give you the cardio you need. Every morning and afternoon, there are other people walking or jogging so i doubt that you’ll ever be alone when you go there. Parking lot is adequate unless there’s a game or event going on but sidestreet parking is also available.
