Good food and decent prices. The food here was pretty good. If i was reviewing the food alone it would be a 5 star review, but I’m reviewing the whole place. So first of all the menu is missing many of the prices, so you need to ask one of the workers what the current rate is. Next, they only take cash, so i had to go to the Arco to buy a soda and get cash back. Also, the ordering is kind of awkward because they don’t have a main ordering window so you have to just order at one of the three wondows.

Really good seafood. We decided to try this food truck since we have been stuck at one that is our favorite, we wanted to go out of our comfort zone. It’s a little hidden gem because it’s parked in a gas station and if you drive too fast you might miss it. However they have really good food. We tried fish tacos(oh’ course) we also had shrimp tacos and a Governador taco which was DELISH!!! We recommend you try this spot if you are in the city heights area and you want real Mariscos without getting sick!!! Shot out to Class of ’99HOOVER Cardinals!!! This is our hood ya’ll. HOO-Ride!!!

Their food truck merged in front of me without signaling and at the last minute. I almost swerved off the highway. I haven’t eaten here and already know it tastes like asshole. Bring some airbags and insurance papers if you eat here.

Found this highly regarded food truck on Unilocal and deciced to try the food here. The lady who took my order(Vanessa) was very nice and introduced me to different types of hot sauces. Got a free cup of hot shrimp soup when waiting for my orders. Spent around $ 16 for a siete mares and two fish tacos. Totally worth it!!! The portions were generous — enough for two people. I love the sea food soup which was loaded with shrimp, octopus and fish and very tasty. The fish tacos were delicious!!! Definitely will come back with my family and introduce friends to this little gem of Mexican cusine in City Heights.

I’ve been eating fish tacos since I’ve been in the womb. It use to be $ 1 per taco but now it’s $ 1.25. Probably the best tacos I have ever ate. So hot, fresh and mouth watering. Just pull up on the side or front and bring your cash.

excellent! What a great find here in City Heights. My favorites are: 1. Tostada Loca — seafood tostada with everything 2. Smoked Marlin Taco — stuffed with marlin meat! 3. Fish Tacos — cheapest thing on the menu… everybody gets it. Try it out!

Prices & Portions are awesome. The seafood quality is great too. I usually always get the grilled shrimp tacos or shrimp cocktail. Usually go here least 4x a week.

best fish tacos Ive had so far. I always go to the one closer to home(off beyer blvd & the 905 in the liquor store parking lot) they were the best. I went out to sea for a while and when I came back It tastes as if they have changed their batter. Its not as much flavor as before. But these tacos at this truck are right on the money. Delicious. I also tried, for the first time, fish ceviche tostadas… mmm mmm mm. Be sure to ask for an extra tostada because they give you plenty of meat on the one. Plus you cant beat the complimentary soup(forgot what its called) overall worth the drive from south chula vista. DELICIOUS!

Went for a short road trip to San Diego and before leaving we decided to turn to Unilocal for a good ceviche spot. We came across this and decided to try it based on the high reviews. The customer service was great! He girl that spoke Spanish was very polite and offered us a complimentary consome(Seafood soup). I ordered the shrimp ceviche tostada and the aguachiles. The ceviche had a great taste, however the shrimp was still gray and mushy. To some people this is not cooked. I don’t think they left it long enough on the lemon, citrus they used to be able to cook the shrimp. The aguachile was worse. But hey maybe this is how aguachile is supposed to be. Raw and not cooked by the juices. The flavor overall was great, I just wished it were cooked. My partner got a bad stomach ache that made us exit to the nearest bathroom stall in Temecula. I though meh, maybe he is not used to semi-raw shrimp. Then when I got home I was experiencing the worse stomach cramps. Needles to say. I live too far and don’t think I will be driving back for the food. I love to see family owned business, and maybe after reading this review they will make sure they just let the shrimp cook a bit longer before serving it.

Definitely a great little nugget of a find if you’re into Mariscos. The truck is perfectly situated in a parking lot, where you can park your darn self too. Its pretty much a pick up and go eat in your car, or go eat in your car kind of situation. It’s not a great area you’re excited to hang out in, but the Mariscos are pretty darn good. We bought fish tacos, shrimp tacos and shrimp ceviche tostadas. It was all really tasty and spot on with the specific Mexican flavoring and texture. I requested that the fish tacos be plain with no sauce and the cook happily obliged. The gentleman running the show was very polite and professional. As a side note: My son was the one who ordered at the window and he doesn’t look Hispanic at all, and he was given full fair attention. We didn’t feel discriminated, just saying, do to a comment on an earlier review. ;) Give em a go, if you’re a mariscos lover, like us, you’ll not be disappointed! Salút! :)

Wow I don’t know if there’s a word in the dictionary that can describe how great this food is! Let me try as I go over my experience. I arrive at this little truck after driving from my hotel which is 20 mins away. When I arrive the line is about 15 to 20 people long. I get in line and realize I forgot my wallet! So the debate begins people, do I drive back and settle for some corporate chain BS restaurant or drive all the way back here. Anyone who know me will tell you of course he drove back, and I’m so glad I did. I’ve never had a tostada like this it’s called tostada Loca. Camaron, pulpo, Scallops, Agua chile, Ostion and some other stuff that I’m not quite sure what it was, but I do know it was delicious. Now all that said this might be the best mariscos truck I’ve ever had, but I must point out its the customer service and overall experience that puts this place above the rest the woman running the register is amazing! She give you free consume de Camaron… Ahh soooo good! If that’s not enough she constantly asks you if you want more tostada or anything. All that said five solid stars for this gem. I can’t wait to come back in the near future!

Fish Taco trucks can be a little sketchy from time to time. Based off the ghetto locations, and usually little to no, good customer service. It can be hard to give these places a shot. However, Mariscos Alex is absolutely great! The taco lady did not force entire sentences of spanish at me. She helped me with a courteous smile and helped understand my spanglish order. The fish tacos are awesome! Crispy, perfect amount of cream sauce, and super cheap! Also great for people not of Mexican heritage, looking to eat at a place that may look a little intimidating at first. Believe me, it’s worth the visit!

One of the best street food places on Our Planet. I tried their shrimp with cheese taco(I don’t remember the proper name, something similar to governor), small tuna and garlic fish taco. The shrimp one was the best to my taste, but others also did not disappoint. If you have crave excellent and dirt cheap seafood do not drive past.

Me and my boyfriend really love the fish tacos, however we were completely disappointed with the shrimp cocktail, wasn’t anything special for $ 15. The fish ceviche tostada were just okay. We recommend this place but just for the fish tacos! Five stars for the fish tacos three stars for an over all rating.

Yes, this is a food truck that is parked in a gas station, but the food here is ridiculously delicious! We got there, and I was a little surprised to see that all the customers there were middle-aged and Latino, seeing as this place is Unilocal famous. The woman taking my order spoke in Spanish, and once I spoke back in Spanish, she suddenly changed to perfect English. Was I using some linguistic password? Anyway: We got the ceviche mixto, and this is so good! The seafood is a healthy mix, given in generous proportions, super fresh, and well-marinated. I’m not sure why everybody thinks the prices have gone up? Less than $ 10 is definitely a good deal, guys.

I liked the different seafood options here. You can choose from fish, shrimp, octopus, etc. I did enjoy the civeche here, I tried to loca civeche which was a mix of different seafoods including fish, shrimp, octopus, scallop and came w/an oyster and a mussel as well as fried tortilla. Portions are large and price is below $ 10. A good deal and refreshing on a hot day. I also tried their fish tacos and shrimp tacos. I wasn’t too impressed by either, both were fried(I prefer grilled fish) and they were overly fried and overly breaded. Would probably skip the tacos next time. Service as fine, cash only.

Yum yum yum! Fresh and authentic. They are tucked into the corner of a gas station. You can pull up you car up to the truck to enjoy your meal in your car. Tacos for $ 1.25 now though you can get the amazing garlic fish taco(if you love garlic like I do) for a little more. They have all sorts of ceviches as well. I went for the loca tostada which came with fish, octopus, mussel, oyster and shrimp with avocado. Pretty much have to order in Spanish although pointing and gesticulating works too. :) There is an elder Asian lady who cleans up around the area. If you get any of the bottled Coca-Cola or Sangria(non alcoholic and pretty close to the flavor you would imagine), be sure to hand the empty bottles to her for recycling purposes!

Went again last week, can’t believe they are still very nice to their customers, charging only $ 1.25 for a fish taco. Where can you beat that price? Plus, their quality is not compromised either! Also, they are generous enough to give out complimentary seafood soup with a shrimp in each cup. How thoughtful is that?! Click«Read more» for my previous more detailed review about the business.

Amazing! I come from New York City where good cheap food is mostly in food trucks. When I had driven past Mariscos Alex, I was excited! So excited that I was in their parking lot 2 hours later when I was hungry. We ordered the following: 1) Clamatos(Regular) — Bloody Mary in a large container. Rim was delicious. Could use more celery stalks. 2) Fish Ceviche Tostada — really fresh; MUSTGET! 3) Fish Taco 4) Shrimp Taco Cheap. Delicious. Enough Said.
