Don’t let Agustin Zavala’s comment discourage you from hiring this group of very talented girls. Zavala was told in advance by the group director that it would be a mixed group and the owner was on a trip to Guadalajara to expand her education in mariachi, it wasn’t a vacation. I played with the girls at his brother’s wedding and we didn’t have much time flexibility because we already had a gig after his brother’s wedding. We arrived 30 minutes before the time we were scheduled, but since the bride was late to her own wedding the starting time was moved back about 30 – 45 minutes. Zavala you don’t have «palabra,» you’re just a whiny customer who didn’t speak his mind when talking to the owner on the phone… If you wanted to hire a professional mariachi please pay the professional mariachi fee of $ 8000 – 10 000 an hour for 8 members and also consider the distance that would add easily $ 2000+ on your bill. Sad to know you only payed $ 900 for 2 hours when in reality you got a bargain. Just here to provide the other side of his «review.» If interested of hiring this group, they are very punctual, organized and talented (great vocals). And they’re pretty affordable in comparison to other groups in san diego. Go girls keep up the good work!

I hired this group of ladies for my brother’s wedding. When I spoke with the owner she had given me her word that there would be 8 ladies, later called me to say that they would only be 5 ladies and 3 guys. One week prior to the event she called and said she would not be present because she was going on a vacation. When the mariachi showed up there was only 7 of them; they were very inflexible with time adjustment and demanded the full amount. I paid the full amount because I have palabra. If you’re looking for a professional group, they are is far from it. I’m still waiting to hear from the owner.

I had the opportunity to see in live and hear the great performance of the only female mariachi band in San Diego, the Mariachi Divinas, at the Complete Frida Kahlo event last Friday. I found them to be very talented and like the good vibe they brought to the event, plus, yes, the fact that they were only women in a very male oriented business. They started their journey only a couple of years ago and I am looking forward enjoying more of their music at Casa de Reyes in Old Town or Fred’s Mexican restaurant in Gaslamp. I am not an expect in this type of music, but I am interested in Mexican culture and I think these ladies are doing a great job preserving the mariachi music and being successful at it. The party would not have been the same without them!
