I used makeup artist on the go for my wedding, my bridal party used them for both makeup & hair. Kirsten did an amazing job on the makeup!!! It was so fast for 5 women and had us all on time! She’s a pretty cool chick too we all loved her personality! Heather did our hair and was super fast and legit! Everyone’s hair was exactly what they wanted and turned out beautiful! They make a fantastic team together!!! I would recommend them to anyone!

Kirsten and her team did the hair and makeup for myself and my bridal party/​family on my wedding day — and we could not have been in better hands!!!
Their services are already a head above the rest because they are able to arrange to come to where you are — it makes such a difference on such a crazy day! And then the prices are so reasonable, for such pristine work!!! We had our trial runs for both hair and makeup, and they were able to make me feel so comfortable and at ease — I knew I could trust them!
Also, I had no specific plans for my bridal party. I didn’t care what their hair/​makeup looked like — I just wanted them to look and feel good too. Kirsten and her team were able to determine what the girls wanted, and deliver beautifully, on the fly, as they say with each one.
I consider myself to be really good at doing my own makeup, but I didn’t want to do it all myself on one of the most important days of my life. So when I met Kirsten, I knew she had the experience and background to know exactly what needed to be done to not only look/​feel good in person, but also look good in pictures!
My day would not have been the same without their team — and I cannot THANK THEM ENOUGH!!!

I’ve been using Kirsten since 2010, and she’s the ONLY person I would hire to do my makeup. I’ve used her for photo shoots and for my wedding. She’s on time, fast and efficient, and I’m always really happy with the results. Highly recommend Makeup Artist on the Go! She’s super talented, creative and obviously passionate about her work.

I can’t recommend Kirsten enough! I called her 2 days before I went in to see her, which is pretty last minute, but none the less she was still extremely happy to make room for me in her schedule. I went in to get my prom make up done and I asked for a natural look and it turned out great! It was exactly what I was hoping for and it helped to make my night amazing! She has an eye for what will look good on each person individually and will also accommodate to any look you want. In addition to being a great artist, she came across as a great person. She kept the conversation going and made the whole experience enjoyable. I highly recommend her and I will definitely be seeing her again.

I flew into San Diego for a wedding and originally had an appointment at the hotel spa for makeup. They were not able to accommodate me as far as time, and I didn’t want to sit for hours before my event in full makeup, so I searched for artist online. I came across Kristen and thought her company seemed exactly what I was looking for, her resume spoke for itself.
I booked her on a Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised she could fit me in last minute with all the proms and weddings taking place around this time. She contacted me the next day to get more information about my location and event. I left my home without a worry that my makeup would be taken care of. She contacted me again two days before the event to get my hotel room information and just reconfirm.
The day of the event Kristin sent me a message a few hours before my event to make sure everything was on schedule and to see if I wanted to start a little earlier. I didn’t, but only because I was out sightseeing.
She arrived at my location, swept in with her makeup case and got right down to business. She was dealing with a very difficult location because there was poor lighting, a lack of adequate outlets, and only one tiny mirror. But she took it all in with grace and set about putting on my face.
Kristin was very professional. Communication was superb, she was friendly and personable when she arrived. I felt like my girlfriend was doing my makeup. She was dressed appropriately in a stylish maxi and sweater. And yes she has tattoos, but they were tasteful and not once did they jump up and interfere with her doing my makeup.
She told me she would airbrush my foundation and I was a little skeptical about it, but it turned out to bet the best option since I had some impressive tan lines that she covered on my shoulders. It took her no time to do the foundation and it looked seamless. She completed my makeup in under a half hour. The fastest I have ever had done.
She cleaned up quickly and was out the door, but not before stopping to tie a pretty bow in my dress (my husband could not do pretty). I noticed awhile after that, that she sent me a message thanking me for allowing her to do my makeup. Most companies seem to forget about you once they get their money.
She did a wonderful job, everyone at our event commented on how great it looked. I would definitely use her again if I ever was in California for another event.

I found Kirsten online and her reviews and website sold me on asking her to do makeup and hair for my wedding. Let’s just say she saved saved the day at my trial when my mom and I had different opinions on what makeup I should have for the wedding. I’m a little embarrassed to say that tears were flowing during the makeup trial because my mom wanted «more» and I wanted «less». Kirsten was so amazing and became not only a makeup artist, but a professional counselor during one of those «dramatic» wedding moments you think you only see on TV. She was able to calm my mom down and we came to a mutual agreement on makeup for the wedding after our «make peace circle» with Kirsten. I know it sounds absurd, but Kirsten was there to calm the seas of a mother-​daughter wedding argument and I can’t thank her enough.
On to the wedding day, she and her hair stylist Katie where there on time and were on point. They did a fantastic job and got my 8 bridesmaids, my mom, and myself ready to go in no time. We all looked great and the makeup lasted all day. Some of my bridesmaids were unsure about the fake eyelashes, but the type Kirsten used were natural, light, and great quality. I was going for a natural, yet glamorous look and each of my bridesmaids did whatever they thought would look best on them. I thought we all looked beautiful and we had so much fun getting ready together. In fact, the maid of honor in my wedding is getting married in a few weeks and she is having Kirsten and Katie do makeup/​hair for her wedding as well. Great quality, great price, great service. She’s fantastic!

Kirsten is insanely talented at her craft. I first met Kirsten by looking on Unilocal to find a make-​up artist who did airbrush make up and had positive reviews. My first appointment with Kirsten was for a wedding in San Diego. I went in to my appointment knowing what type of look I wanted to achieve and Kirsten not only gave me the look I wanted, but went above and beyond. Kirsten is kind, knowledgeable and strives for perfection in her work. As a client I can not ask for anything more. I have had my make-​up done by Kirsten about 6 times now. One of my experiences was for an out of town wedding I was attending. The wedding was on a Saturday evening, I had Kirsten airbrush my make up the Friday before, caught a flight to the wedding that night and the following day at the Wedding, my make up was still perfection. I could not believe it.
Kirsten makes her clients her absolute priority. There have been numerous times I frantically text her to make a last minute appointment and she always accommodates. I have recommended her services to my sister for her high school Prom, to friends for special events and birthdays and would recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing make up artist who gives you a flawless look while making you feel extremely comfortable. Your time with Kirsten will always be fun. It is like spending time with a girlfriend and leaving looking more glamorous than you could imagine.
Kirsten has always done airbrush make up on me, along with beautifully applied lashes and a striking lip accent. I am very particular about having my make up done, and it is always for a special occasion where you want to look your absolute best. I know for a fact I will never go to another make up artist. As I mentioned before I have gone to Kirsten about 6 times and every single time I leave my appointment feeling so amazing and so happy with the make up she applied.

You can never go wrong with Kirsten! A woman with great passion for her craft. I hired Kirsten, together with her hairstylist, to do my hair and make up for our engagement shoot. Everything was perfect! They are very flexible and was able to meet me very early on a Thanksgiving weekend! Very friendly and easy to get along with. Truly listen to what their clients’ needs. Told them we are doing a vintage shoot and, voila!, she had transformed me into a classic look. Everyone loves the hair and make up! I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I used Makeup Artist On The Go– the awesome Kirsten — for wedding make-​up on myself, my bridesmaids, my mother, and mother-​in-​law. I did extensive research and the rates cannot be beat especially since she included airbrush, eyelashes, and travel. Most other companies or individuals charged extra for each of these.
I will agree with Arisa K.‘s review below on a few points and they are valid points that brides should consider: – 1– Kirsten does not have a light touch. HOWEVER, she has a time-​effective touch that gets the job done right. This was important to me because I had 7 bridesmaids, so there was a total of 10 ladies getting hair and make up done for a 2:00 pm wedding. I wanted to be done earlier to get pictorials done. I appreciated the timeliness and having her (and the hair stylist, Katie) come in extra early so that me and the girls can be ready to go. –2– Kirsten did have a rockabilly style (which I personally think is very cute and would be trying to pull-​off if I didn’t work in a job that required me to look «professional»). She is an artist and should be able to dress and style herself however she wants. I DID have a little bit of apprehension about my mother-​in-​law and how she would react (old school Filiipino ladies are usually on the more conservative side). Her friendliness and skill to hold a conversation with anyone about anything carried her and my ladies enjoyed her.
The girls and I had a good time getting ready and shared giggles and laughs. Everyone turned out BEAUTIFUL. I know nothing about makeup application so I was clueless as what to dictate on how the bridesmaids and I should have our makeup and hair done. I said «natural smoky eye» just because my cousin who knows more make up than I do suggested. In the end, I told Kirsten to do whatever would look good & she sure did make them look great. Then when it came to me I said «just make me look better than them». She laughed out loud, but delivered on my request. LOL. I asked Katie to do side-do’s for the bridesmaids. They all had varying hair lengths and styles from to-​the-​butt long and a super short bob. Katie did a great job on all their hair and everyone looked classy and hollywood once they slipped into their rose gold sequin dresses. I had loose curls and a bouffant?/poof on top. I felt beautiful and my husband was impressed.
In conclusion– I highly recommend! I hope to use them again if I ever have a special event to go to.

Did a trial run with Kirsten for wedding day makeup. She’s a cool person and her rates are great. But these are the reasons I did not end up booking her:
1. Kirsten does not have a light touch. When she was applying my eye makeup, I felt like she was jabbing my eyelids with her brush. I hadn’t had my makeup done in a while, so I wasn’t sure if this was par for the course. It’s not. My second trial with another makeup artist proved that it is possible to apply eye makeup beautifully, with a feather light touch.
2. Kirsten didn’t know the difference between a bug bite and a blemish. I had a little blemish on my cheek. She insisted it was a bug bite. I can tell the difference. Regardless, I wasn’t happy with how she failed to cover it up. Her response was to keep spraying on more of that airbrush foundation, which only made my makeup look really caked on.
3. I told her the most important thing was that my skin look great. But my makeup looked caked on, and my skin looked bumpy. I’ve since learned that this can happen with airbrush makeup. It looks great in photos, but not necessarily great in person. So it may be the case that airbrush was the wrong choice for me. I ultimately used a makeup artist who used traditional foundation, which looked great in person AND in photos.
4. When my fiancé saw the results of my test, he said, «That’s worse than nothing. Your skin looks better with nothing on.» OK — that’s points for the fiancé. Won’t hold that against Kirsten.
5. Her appearance. Kirsten sort of has this rockabilly look to her which is very cool, but perhaps too edgy for my conservative future in-​laws. If her ink had been the only issue, I would have booked her anyway. I hesitate to mention it now, except it is something to consider. I wanted everyone to feel comfortable pre-​wedding, and this might be a factor for other future brides.

I booked Kirsten to do my make up and four bridesmaids and my maid of honor for my wedding on September 27, 2014. She was so professional and so sweet all the way through she made me feel comfortable and she gave me the look that I wanted. All the bridesmaids and my maid of honor looked gorgeous on my wedding day and I never felt more beautiful. I couldn’t have been happier with Kirsten. Her partner Katie did all of our hair and we all looked fabulous. Kirsten is awesome!

I would give Kirsten more stars if I could… This woman really knows what she is doing.
Not only am I super picky (and not used to wearing makeup), but I had a very eclectic mix of bridesmaids with different styles, skin tones, attitudes, etc. and she impressed every single one of us. Nobody had to tell her what they wanted, she just knew and we all looked fantastic!
To top it off, her pricing was very reasonable!

Kirsten did an amazing job! We hired her for my best friends wedding. The airbrush makeup looked phenomenal and you couldn’t even tell we had false lashes on. She listened to what we wanted and was super friendly and personable. Would definitely recommend her for any big day!

I had just moved to the San Diego and after some research I booked an appointment with Kirsten. WOW… I seriously can not say enough good things about her. I showed up not exactly knowing what type of makeup I wanted and after asking her opinion and seeing her work I was blown away! Everything went smoothly even with 12 women getting their makeup done. Every single one of my bridesmaids was so happy with how they looked. Kirsten is defiantly someone you want on one of the most important days of your life. She is very reasonable and I still go back to her every chance I can for any of the military balls I go to.

I was referred to Makeup artist on the go through a friend that got married the year prior. I thought she looked gorgeous in all of her pictures so naturally I got Kirsten’s contact information and booked right away for my wedding on July 12^th! I booked for 9 people, 6 bridesmaids, my mom and mother in law. We all LOVED our makeup and hair and got so many compliments throughout the night. The first thing my husband said when I got down the isle was how beautiful I looked (he was worried I would have too much makeup on for the wedding and not look like myself).
