What sets MIM apart from other dance studios is the quality of the instruction offered. The instructors focus on the proper technique of the dance, which is the factor that ultimately takes dancers to the next level. The classes not only teach students basic moves and combinations, but also the importance that musicality and timing bring to the dance. The classes are always fun and create a welcoming and friendly environment for all. It has been great to be part of the amazing community that MIM has formed.

I discovered my love for salsa dancing thanks to David Stein’s beginner salsa classes. He breaks everything down in a fun and understandable way. I then followed up with private lessons and feel comfortable social dancing. I would highly recommend Majesty in Motion!

I have danced for Majesty in Motion for the past two years and I have got to say, it has changed my life. I learned everything I know about Salsa and Bachata from David, Jennifer, Patrick, Robbie, Eva and Gonzalo. All the instructors I have encountered at Majesty have been so helpful and are wonderful human beings.
What I like about Majesty is that they focus a lot on technique, timing and body movement which are the keys to social dancing. I have looked into other dance studios in San Diego and this is hands down the best place to learn.
Majesty has become my family and they have made me feel so welcomed in the Salsa dancing community.

If you are interested in learning salsa or bachata, Majesty in Motion is the only studio that you need to know about. David and Jennifer are superb teachers who not only have the ability to break down any move so that anyone can understand it, classes are always lighthearted and fun as well. Classes are offered five days a week and if you are interested in taking your dancing to the next level, there are options to join numerous teams. All the great dancers who you meet at socials around the San Diego area currently train or have trained with Majesty in Motion. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Hands down THE best place to start your salsa dancing journey in San Diego!
Instructors: David and Jennifer will give you the tools to feel confident on the dance floor in a welcoming and fun environment. Very down to earth couple who wear their love for the art of Salsa on their sleeves.
Lessons: Classes are often large. Material is broken down into understandable pieces. The instructors are kind enough to demo at the end of class so that you can record the material and practice what you’ve learned at home.
Venue: I’ve only been to the Starlight Dance Studio venue, which is a large space. Clean. Great lighting. Ample free parking.
By the way, they teach Bachata here as well!

David is a great teacher and you feel that his passion and that he loves what he does. Anthony is an awesome instructor too. Really knowledgably and lots of fun.

I HIGHLY recommend Majesty in Motion! It’s a family through and through. I started dancing with them more than 10 years ago and recently my 6 year old daughter has started dancing with them. Jennifer and Priscilla are so kind, patient, and full of talent! The kids absolutely love and adore them! My daughter has learned so much in a short period of time. Majesty in Motion Salsa kids program has been an amazing program for my son. He enjoys taking classes with such skilled instructors. David and Jennifer take their time to really make class enjoyable for these kids. My son has learned so much and looks forward to class every week. If you want your child to learn from professionals this is the place!!! They’ll have fun and make new friends while learning to social dance and even have chances to perform throughout the program. Excellent dance studio. David and Jennifer are world-​class, very technically sound instructors who have the uncommon ability to cater to all skill levels, while keeping their classes light and engaging. Both instructors take a personal interest in their students’ individual progress and growth. Would highly recommend both group and private lessons.

If you’re looking to improve your salsa, I highly recommend the private lessons! My wife and I have been dancing for some time however we love the attention to details we get from Jennifer Stein both as a lead and follow. The private lessons also allow us to schedule around busy schedules. Very lucky to have found Majesty in Motion! Haven’t tried the group classes yet but hopefully will get to those next!

David Stein is always a wonderful teacher with humor, expertise, and rhythm. His classes are easy to follow and there is something for the beginner and experienced dancer. Tango del Rey is a great venue for socials with easy parking that is close and safe (as a female that is a major consideration). Great dancers, great shows, good snacks, drinks, and lots of fun. I’d recommend his classes, socials, and workshops to all levels of dancers.

I’m echoing other reviewers’ sentiments that this dance studio is awesome. I’m very new to salsa dancing and the Latin dance «scene,» and in my experience so far Majesty is the best around — excellent, helpful instruction, but it’s also light-​hearted and FUN. I’ve never been a dancer, but at Majesty I feel like I don’t have to take myself too seriously, which actually helps my confidence and makes me want to keep practicing and going back. I would definitely check out classes at the studio as well as some of their club nights (listed on their website), where they do a beginner lesson followed by dancing (and sometimes performances). We’re really lucky to have access to Majesty’s instructors right here in San Diego!

So fun! The instructors are great!!! David is hilarious… although be keeps referring to us as cars!!! At least they are sports cars! Can’t wait for the next class!

Hands down, this is the BEST dance company in San Diego for Salsa lessons. Founder and Directors David and Jennifer Stein are authentic, patient, and incredibly passionate about their work, and it shows in their teaching! Group classes are offers 3 to 4 times a week at Starlight Dance studio near San Diego State University. Classes are structured, technical, yet still so much fun! Whether it’s your first class your 100^th, the instructors are passionate about improving your technique and skills. Beginning, intermediate and advanced performance teams are also offered and if you really want to get serious about learning salsa, it helps to join a team and immerse yourself completely in salsa ecstasy! Many students find they learn much quicker this way.
