Not sure how this got posted here. This review was meant for El Zarape. That’ll teach me to review on my phone ;) While their beans and rice are some of the most bland and boring I’ve experienced, other menu items are very good. Great location with a small parking lot. Friendly service with a full bar.

Ok the French Toast are awesome here, and the corned beef hash is homemade with fresh corned beef and potatoes awesome. Could not ask for better service and food. We will definitely come back again and again. :)

Amazing food. The Shrimp Burrito is the best plate of Mexican food I’ve ever had. So good that when I was in town recently, I went there for another in lieu of trying out other Mexican food. Luckily my friend lives right down the street, so anytime I’m in SD, this is a must.

The single best chile relleno in town, I love this place for breakfast and for dinner. Luz is awesome and super friendly. You can eat at the wine bar or at Rosie’s.

Luz & Victor have packed it in. Don’t worry, they’re at Rosie O’Grady’s now! If you ever have a chance to eat one of Luz’s tamales, cut off your left arm if you have to. Imagine my surprise one day when I drove up and the entire building was demolished! I almost cried. Literally. Also imagine my surprise when having a drink at Rosie’s, I see Victor! He’s still the same old smartass and Luz is still the same sweet, amazing cook but with a smaller kitchen. Tell them I said Hi if you happen to go in there. I don’t go in there enough because half the time it’s too loud for a meal. I’ll have to quit being old and get my butt in there.
