I got my eyebrows waxed one time and then a facial the other. Melissa was so knowledgeable and wonderful. I had two really great experiences. Definitely going back.

I had a manicure and a pedicure. Both were relaxing, took the right amount of time, and the work was clean/​beautiful. The ambience is clean, relaxing, and not too noisy. Great color selection, too! I will definitely return!

I’ve returned for facials with Melissa a handful of times and her expertise and kindness is always such a delight. I’ve been experiencing a change in my skin and she’s helped me overcome with dietary advice and setting me up with the perfect skin régime. I highly recommend her for all your skin care and/​or relaxation needs!

Luxe Lounge was by far the worst mani pedi experience I’ve ever had all around. The quality of the services was terrible, management was pretentious, and extremely overpriced (even for a big city salon). My gel manicure was bubbly and chipped on the edges. It was no where near «spa» quality. They had cheap products and the «fresh-​herb» scrub was a joke I couldn’t even smell the citrus. I understand now why I was I was the only customer in this depressing and awkwardly silent salon. I was traveling, on a tight schedule and not familiar with the area so I expressed my disappointment and asked for a refund. Management was not willing and only offered to correct the manicure, but they were not flexible to help me when I called in the next day to have the manicure corrected and I did not want to waste any more of my vacation time at this sad place.

Highly recommend this salon. I am from out of town and luxe was able to get me in right away. Staff was friendy and the salon was well kept. Michelle is awesome!!! Beautiful job on my mani/​pedi.

Nothing but excellent service and a beer. Easy to schedule appointments and perfect for last minute too. Great for males and females.

It was a little difficult for me to find this place at first – Unilocal’s map shows it in the apartment complex portion of the building when really it’s on Market.
Anyway, they took my in with no appointment on a Friday. They serve wine here (and champagne on Fridays!) which is awesome if you’re really trying to relax. ;)
A girl with short red hair did my pedicure first (forgive me, I forgot your name! But I believe it was Destiny) and she helped me decide on a color – a task that seemed impossible for me. They have OPI and Essie here! So hard to choose!
Kayleigh, who did my manicure, was super sweet and paid such close attention and detail to my nails! We had a lot of good laughs, and I highly recommend her if you’re a little more particular than most. She shaped my gel extensions to perfection and I lowkey wish I lived here so she could do them all the time!
Only downfall – I paid $ 125 after tip which feels outrageous compared to the $ 80 I usually spend on my acrylic manicure+pedicure WITH gel polish. I enjoyed myself nonetheless and I am really happy with how my nails came out!
UPDATE: THREE DAYS LATER and one of my nails already cracked!!! MOST EXPENSIVE MANICURE IVE EVER HAD and it only lasted three days. I’m pissed, and can’t even go back in to have them fix it because I’m 8hrs away. Kayleigh is still awesome, she had mentioned she wasn’t crazy about the products they use there and now I know why!!!

Scheduling: called and was able to get in w/​in 30 minutes. First time trying this place w/​in walking distance to my home. Great!
Setting and Customer service: upon walking in was welcomed and provided water w/​strawberries. Later found out others were offered champagne — not sure why I wasn’t offered but no big deal. Great service from person manning the front. Quiet setting, clean, and modern — definitely a place I’d want to come back to.
Manicurist: young, kind gal — less experienced but enjoyed chatting. Did basic gel manicure — not necessarily impressed. Didn’t clean up and trim around my cuticles/​nails like I’m used too from my regular nail spa. She didn’t put sunblock on the backs of my hands as I’ve found other salons do. That’s a minus for me. Only 2 coats of polish which is another minus. Used too 3 with my regular place.
Price: $ 40! That’s pricey so for a basic experience that looked like it would be better than other salons, I wouldn’t want to come back.
Within the first week of my gel manicure: polish was lifting on half of my nails in spots. Due to the light color of pale pink polish you could see the lifting which wasn’t great because I was at a work conference for 2 days my nails looked damaged. I’ve never had lifting from any other manicure within the first 2 weeks.
Called the salon and was told their policy was fixing if given notice w/​in 48 hours. I explained this is gel and the intention is to get more than 48hrs or 1 week from the polish, right? She agreed but said if I used my hands a lot and had them in water or soaked a lot it would effect the polish. I work in an office and haven’t been scuba diving so no, I haven’t been soaking my hands. She said they could evaluate if I swung by. Not impressed with their service and follow up customer service. Have decided to move on. I’d rather keep going to the busy «hustle and bustle» salon over the serene setting just so I can get quality and my money’s worth.
I don’t recommend Luxe because it seems like «smoke and mirrors». Nice set up but not interested in quality work and serving the customer.

Luxe spa has been around for about two years, I had never been in before. It was also my first time hearing about it and I live and work in downtown. Although my technician, Kaylie (not sure how she spells it) was super sweet and rather talented I chose another drink over keeping her overtime to soak my feet. Not sure why they don’t start out with the soak. I wanted rhinestones and felt that they’d get loose and fall off quicker if i used the foot spa so in leu of the spa I asked for another glass of wine. Long story short, she didn’t give me another drink and I didn’t get my feet soaked and I still paid the $ 75 for my pedicure. Super lame and totally not worth it. I also just did a simple design with the rhinestones instead of having the entire big toe bling’d out. Would they have charged me more or less? Who knows but I kinda have buyers remorse because if I was going to be charged the same amount for my entire experience I should have just taken advantage of the situation. Instead I left annoyed, not even a little tipsy with dirty feet.
Thanks for replying Izabella and your information would have been helpful 48 hours after my pedicure @Luxe. Kaylie should have let me know that if any of my «Swarovski» crystals fall off that they will be replaced within a 48 hour period. I reviewed Luxe five minutes after leaving, it took four days for you to reply. Not sure that’s the best customer service but I understand that many businesses don’t really care about Unilocal.Anyway, thanks again. Kinda over it now. $ 75 for a pedicure is ridiculous and I need to just forget about that terrible experience. Lay it to rest, get another pedicure and move on with my life.

Great first pedicure experience in San Diego! The staff was very welcoming and friendly, offering me water, coffee, tea, or champagne on arrival (bubbles, please!). My technician was very thorough and asked which smells I preferred for the various lotions and scrubs. Great to have a choice! The rest was (a very relaxing) history! The only thing I wish this place had was actual pedicure chairs, vs the bench against the wall. After being there for an hour+ it gets pretty uncomfortable. Plus, who doesn’t love a little rolling massage while someone is scrubbing your feet?!

HIGHLY recommend! Clean, bright, contemporary décor. Great people and services! Love my mani-​pedi! Great products — great job.
They offered coffee when we walked in. What arrived was a delicious fresh pressed coffee with real cream in a china cup and saucer. Felt like being at a day spa. Super impressed!

Quite glad I came here for a gel manicure. After a long work week and with my nails looking less than ideal, I frantically searched for a place that would let me have an appointment at 3:30PM on a Friday. Needless to say, out of all the local salons I called, this was the only to respond and able to take a walk in. My taxi took me straight to the door of this salon, at which point they immediately offered me my choice of wine (white or red) or champagne.
The whole experience here was wonderful and relaxing. My nails looked amazing afterwards. I really appreciated that my manicurist paid close attention to detail and ensured I was satisfied with the service.
The only reason why I can’t give this place a full five stars is because I left my iPhone 6 charger here, right next to my suitcase and they did not remind me on the way out :(I never received a follow up call about it either, so that’s a bummer.

I had to make a last minute emergency appointment here the night before I needed my nails done for a special occasion. I had tried to do them myself and ended up looking like a preschooler after a finger painting session.
I went online and reserved the first appointment they had the next morning. I arrived just as they were opening, surprised to find that my late night impromptu appointment had actually made it onto their appointment log.
My entry into the spa was a bit awkward, which is why I took away one star. The person behind the desk was one of the manicurists who failed to greet me or say anything before she walked to the back with her client, leaving me awkwardly standing by myself in the reception area.
Everything after this initial encounter was great! My manicurist was friendly, quick, and professional. Great service at a decent price. Unfortunately I’m moving out of the area, but If I were to stay, I would definitely be back. I especially love that they offer online appointments and scheduling.

I had the luxe hydra facial with the glysal it was truly amazing, very relaxing and gives you a very nice glow.
Definitely going back, now I scheduled some other treatments. They actually do many things recommended to check it out

Absolutely splendid experience! Friendly, inviting ladies that engage respectively throughout the services provided. A very natural and fun experience with drinks ranging from coffee to mimosas offered :) the mani pedi was phenomenal and she accommodated a lovely ombré design for my nails which turned out amazing!!! Thank you!

Wonderful staff. Adrianna did my toes beautifully, and she knew her stuff. Destiny the manager was also amazing. She actually stayed later after the salon closed to be sure my nails were perfect after it wasn’t exactly how I envisioned. The final product was awesome, and the salon itself was clean and modern chic, with every color or accent you could want. My first time here, and will definitely be returning for more.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah there is a God.
Desperately needed a manicure whilst in town in business. Decided to stop by this place because the Unilocal reviews were good. I wasn’t disappointed.
The staff are so friendly and so helpful! I needed to charge my phone and they went out if their way to find the right charger for my phone.
I was given a super moisturizing peppermint and brown sugar hand massage which is remarkable!!!
Anyway after an hour of amazingness I stayed to feel right at home… when… I was offered champagne. I couldn’t refuse that offer!
After I was feeling pampered and tipsy enough to find out how much this devastatingly awesome afternoon had been, I took myself to the register to pay, expecting it to be around $ 50. To my absolute delight it came to only $ 30.
Seriously highly recommended.

Was able to get a walk-​in appointment for a gel manicure on a Sunday afternoon, great! I’m from out of town and thought 4.5 stars-​fantastic.
I wanted to get ombré glitter on two of my nails, which guessing by the nice manicure pictures here I thought would be a piece of cake. I wish they had just told me upfront that they didn’t really have anyone who could do even simple designs well.
The person I was originally assigned to stated they weren’t great at designs and passed me off to someone else. Then I was rushed before another appointment the technician had.
The receptionist, and the atmosphere and the technician I had were all nice. But for the quality gel manicure I received I would never again pay $ 50 + tip.
My gel manicure lasted LESS than a week, 4 days to be exact. Despite my technician being meticulous, the coating was too thin, uneven and chipped quickly.

Unfortunately I didn’t actually get to experience Luxe Lounge & Spa. I booked a mini manicure appointment for 4:45 to 5:05 online with Destiny. I showed up 5 minutes early and the receptionist was very nice and got me a glass of water. The place itself looks beautiful and is very clean.
They told me it would be just a few minutes, so I had a seat. As I sat there, I think I heard the receptionist ask another person who worked there where the person who was supposed to be doing my manicure was. They responded that she was on lunch still. I’m not 100% positive it was my manicurist they were talking about, but if it was I really don’t understand, if she knew all day (I booked my appointment at around 9 a.m.) that she had an appointment at 4:45, why she would choose that time to go to lunch.
At any rate, after a few more «it’ll be a few minutes» assurances, I waited until 5:05 (which was supposed to be the end of my appointment) and decided I wasn’t going to sit around any longer. One of the receptionists asked me if I had somewhere to be, but it shouldn’t really matter if I have somewhere I need to be. My time is as important as everybody else’s and appointments should be honored.
