A pointless late review but I loved this place and was so sad to see it was closed =(

Just found out It’s closed forever! :( Call ahead and your order will be ready! 619−295−3484 I always get the turkey on wheat with everything and they’ll wrap it in plastic wrap if you’re gonna have it later so it doesn’t dry out. Fresh, delicious, and always with a smile! Breakfast or lunch but they close around 2pm. Special orders or catering too!

Great price great sandwich. EATHEREEVERYDAYIF I COULD. $ 6 Footlong sub on fresh bread with a large soda! Way more sandwich variety than Subway. And fresh. And they are nice. And you don’t smell like yeast like you do every time inside a Subway restaurant. Easy in easy out parking and get right back on the free way or head back to pt loma. This place is like one of those San Diego secret spots!

Was skeptical at first, but honestly, cozy/homey energy AND good food… the price makes everything 10x better. This little corner deli is run by the sweetest people and is a go-to spot for my coworkers and I when we’ve come into the office after a long night of pretending we aren’t as old as we really are… The interior could use a little TLC but other than that, great place. Would rather drive here than walk to Subway down the street any day.

So, I didn’t go to this one but they have another one inside of the Marvin K Brown dealership that their son runs. He is first of all on of the nicest people I have ever met and he a very skilled cook. The food is delicious and cheap too! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone.

This is a great hole in the whole restaurant across the street from the VVSD. They sandwiches taste fresh and delish! There isn’t a humungous variety but the ones they have are great. I think it’s run by the people from VVSD which makes it better but don’t quote me on that. I’m not positive. My only issue is that the restaurant is super super dirty. When I say hole in the wall, I mean it. It’s not a clean place at all. Hopefully they’re careful with what their food handling.

I recently started working in this area and I found out about this deli from a coworker. I come here at least once a week. It is a mom and pop deli shop. They also have breakfast sandwiches before 9:30. They have a lot of drinks and chips selections also. Their sandwiches are nothing too special, but definitely delicious and filling. I’ve tried their turkey avocado sandwich, tuna sandwich, ham turkey and roast beef sandwich. They are very generous with all the ingredients! Your sandwiches are at least 3 inches tall no matter what kind it is. And they have different bread choices also. There’s white, wheat, sour dough and french roll, maybe more. They offer a daily special too. I had the pull pork sandwich today and it was great! It’s not on their regular menu so I had to get it. The pork was really tender and juicy. The deli’s dinning area is very plain and simple. Just some tables and chairs. It could be a lot better. But I’m there for the sandwiches, not for the decorations on the wall.

Hot messy Italiano capicola sandwich with sourdough, wet yolk, & avocado. To freaking die for. Only open for breakfast & lunch, closed on Sundays. You won’t be disappointed in the quality & abundance of meat you get on this artery clogger.

This place is phenomenal. The best omelet sandwich you can get. Lunch is fulfilling as well. It isn’t a hippy deli, it’s a «Made in America» «Proud to support the troops» make your sandwich how you want it. I came for the food and it was great. I will continue to come here as long as I’m stationed here.

you pay for what you get. I came here because there was a line, however the quality and service was beyond horrible. hours later I got a bad case of diarrhea. Super salty food. never never again!

Yes it is cheap. Yes the service is fast and friendly. Yes it is grimy. Yes the food tastes a little greasy. Yes you will not find condiments on the table. Yes you will be using powdered creamer for your coffee. And yes it is grimy. Did I already mention that?

This Lunch Bag Deli has superb great sandwiches, Breakfasts and the prices are always under $ 5.00 for Huge thick meated sandwiches/or breakfast witha soda or coffee. No one anywhere sells these deals on lunches anywhere in San Diego and at these unheard of low prices. Going here 20 years when in Midway area on Pacific Highway. Place closes at 3.30 most days, except 2 on Fridays and of course closed Sundays. The Man and lady that run the place are great folks always with a smile and make certain you have your lunch the way you want it. HIGHLYRECCOMENDTOALL… WHAT A BARGAIN.

Ok, so this place… — CHEAP! Their sandwiches are all less than $ 4. — The sandwiches are good but they are nothing special. They would be like a sandwich you can make at home. — The sandwiches are a good size though so even though it’s cheap you’ll fill up at lunch. — The lady working the register is really nice. — It’s hard to find if you’re not used to the area. — It’s dirty — seriously. The food you can tell is kept clean but the kitchen itself and place in general is dirty and old.

My favorite place for sandwiches! It’s not great place to look at, but the sandwiches are AWESOME! They are huge and yummy and the fries are great. THe owners are a married couple, and retired marine… and they’re friendly and helpful and will make sandwiches to order, even if they’re not on the menu! The breakfast sandwiches + avacado, are the best! Go and enjoy!

I have been going to this little secret near SPAWAR for over 4 years now. I am happy that I can get my breakfast burrito hookup almost any time of day(they do close relatively early and are not open on Sundays). They make great food for a great price, and are always happy and helpful to all. Give them a try the next time you happen to be cruising down PCH. They also have a location inside Marvin K. Brown Cadillac dealership. While that location does not have a large grill, the people here are in the«adapt and overcome» state of mind and able to make almost anything imaginable on a 1 foot by 1 foot hotplate. No fries at this location, but there are always hashbrowns for my breakfast burrito fix!

Agreed, cheap as f! and at least 3 inches tall. But bad shredded lettuce! the nasty, wilted kind! And no tuna salad sandwiches here, only tuna melt.

Yeah, I agree this place is the best deal in town. I notice their specialty is in the Italian meats, I especially like the Turkey Cappicola Sandwich. The sandwiches aren’t anything special, but are really decent especially for the price, and they really pile on the meat.(I may be weird but I don’t especially like a lot of meat, so I usually take some off, but I know I’m gettin my money’s worth) They also have a small salad, mexican, and fried-food menu too, including chicken strips etc. Their chips selection can sometimes be pretty small, but they have a drink cooler with a lot of beverages to choose from. They have limited hours, some days only open until 2:00pm and sometimes I eat later than that. If you’re wanting a decent sandwich at an awesome price this is your spot.
