Ludus Tours

I purchased the Oktoberfest 2015 Tour package for a hefty price tag. The package was supposed to include two different Oktoberfest tent events: one in a small tent on the first night (mid weekend festival time) the other a large tent on the final night.
We arrived, put on our lederhosen and expected to hit the Oktoberfest party. Without any explanation we were walked to a local restaurant which was quiet and mostly empty where we ate. Then we were walked over to a crowded downtown pub where we had to organize ourselves into whatever seating was available on the sidewalk. When we inquired finally as to why we weren’t at Oktoberfest and would we be going tonight, our guide explained that he did not in fact get our tickets and we would not be attending Oktoberfest that night. Everyone was so disappointed! If we were notified before hand, I would have gone to the festival on my own instead but that opportunity was not given to us, I felt it was misleading.
We did attend the final night at the big tent but it seemed that there were some people in the group who had trouble fitting into the seating arrangement as if there wasn’t enough space booked or something. The seats were also in the furthest, highest corner near the stairs and it seemed probably the worst spot in the whole tent of thousands of people.
Neuschwanstein Castle was also promised as part of the package, without explanation we went to a different/​smaller palace instead. Then we unexpectedly were put onto a bike tour miles away from the Castle which we could see in the far distance. Nobody on this tour was happy because a bike tour was not supposed to happen this day. Mike’s Bikes do all the work, yet you pay Ludus who don’t even attend some of the outings. The tour guide finished the bike tour and was going to wrap until somebody made a big fuss about going to the Castle; he relented and we went but then we couldn’t go inside while some strangers not with the tour could go in who had tickets pre-​bought. We wasted a lot of time walking up the hill where others were able to drive right up to the castle. Whatever day, generally a lot of time was wasted on this trip either waiting for guides, walking endlessly from our hotel to Mike’s Bikes office, or waiting again for other tours to join up. Trust me, you WALK EVERYWHERE and wait around a lot and they don’t provide much of anything in the way of convenience or efficiency.
The bike tour around Munich the following day sounded nice (although I was tired of biking at this point and just wanted to finally see Oktoberfest), until the guide showed up at least 30 – 40 mins late, then you walk about 20 mins to the Mike’s Bike’s office then you wait again for a massive crowd/​group tour to assemble. Finally after about two hours of waiting around, and walking the tour guide appears and blabs on and on (the crowd was so big I couldn’t even hear him), the massive group (maybe 100 or more people) then has to line up to use the bathroom at a public space before you start out and by the time you get going it is well into the afternoon and a half day has been completely wasted. Some of us were so annoyed we didn’t even go on the tour, but opted instead to break off on our own to try to see the festival which we had been dying to go to. You pay for all your own lunches too by the way.
Ultimately this tour was highly disappointing as we anticipated Oktoberfest parties but you are only at the grounds for an hour or two and you’re kicked out of the tent again. Which normally would be ok, but by the time the final tent tickets were finished it was the last day and there no more time to see the festival. Literally, you are given no possible opportunity to see Oktoberfest unless you break off and go on your own, but there is no time given to do that. Your trip is over and Ludus has completely waste four days of your time doing everything except what you paid for. I didn’t travel to Germany to walk endlessly around places I didn’t arrange to see and ride bikes around and do nothing that was actually promised. We spent maybe 2 hours total at the festival and that cost me $ 1800; others paid even more which I gawked at, they were FURIOUS.
No refunds or formal explanation was offered. Highly disappointing after a year of anticipation and a big price tag. Oktoberfest was a big dream for me and I was so disappointed I wanted to cry.

Thanks to Ludus Tours, my trip to the Super Bowl was ruined. It is bad enough to pay in advance for tickets I never received, but to wait until the Thursday before the Super Bowl meant I could not have taken advantage of lower prices from alternate sellers. Trust Ludus at your peril!

I purchased Super Bowl tickets through one of their companies TeamTix and three days before the game I got am email saying they couldn’t get tickets and therefore would refund my money. Yet this was hours before I had to board a plane and already had costs that I could not cancel. I would not trust the ceo Brian peters as he avoided questions and poorly communicated with me. They charged my credit card for the tickets and refused to refund me unless I signed a document that released them from legal liability, trying to hold be hostage. The group practices borderline fraudulent activities. Both my father and I lost airfare, travel costs, food costs and lost work time as well as access to tickets that had and estimated fair market value of 18,000 dollars. This was a once in a lifetime trip to see my hometown football team in the Super Bowl.

A travel and leisure company depends on its reputation as customers trust them with thousands of dollars for something they don’t absolutely need. In the debacle of the 2015 Super Bowl, Ludus Tours showed why it is an untrustworthy company. I paid for two Super Bowl tickets ahead of traveling to Phoenix, before the street prices of tickets exploded. Ludus CEO Brian Peters informed me four days ahead of the Super Bowl that their suppliers weren’t delivering ordered tickets. It is not surprising that suppliers would rather sell their tickets on the market then deliver them to Ludus given the unexpected high prices.
Reputable companies like Stubhub ended up buying tickets on open the market and taking losses to deliver purchased tickets that didn’t materialize. Lesser companies cut deals like paying reasonable travel expenses as well as refunding prepaid ticket costs. Customers were unhappy about missing the event but at least were made whole. Ludus Tours CEO Brian Peters hid behind their contractural terms — customers were offered their money back (if they didn’t do at least that, Ludus would be guilty of criminal fraud!) and an extra 20% if you signed a paper agreeing not to sue.
A company that sells high end bucket list trips and then does not deliver because they mispriced the market simply cannot be trusted with your money.

This company is so misleading!!! They took almost 12 grand from my friend and when I simply wanted to double up with her in her room, they wanted an additional 4,000! They normally put a stranger in your room! They scam you, so they can make as much profit as possible! Plus my friend, then had a court date, gave them a month and a half notice and attorney’s letters and still hasn’t been refunded any of her money. This company is horrible!!! Do not give them your money, you may never see it again and they’re overcharging you every step of the way.

Amazing staff and just phenomenal at what they do… curating incredible life experiences with such a personal and genuine touch with everything they do. The ability to take a trip, any trip, without the hassle of coordinating everything is one thing, but to go on a trip and feel like you are being guided as if you are a local and get to experience up front and personal the raucous fun of octoberfest, or the «aficion» of the running of the bulls is something that really sets the crew at Ludus apart from any other tour you might try. On the fence on using Ludus… don’t be jump in with them and remember it forever like I did!

I had the delight of going to the Masters with the Ludus Tours team.
Initially, I was a little nervous as I had heard that you can’t actually get into Augusta and I obviously did not know Ludus (at the time). Their staff was friendly, knowledgable and confident that they had the «experience of a lifetime» for me.
I took the chance and am thrilled that I did … there was 5 star meals, elite access into the club and a nice place to stay. I brought a friend and to this day, he still brags about my «VIP Masters Connection».
Ludus is now my default for any «once in a lifetime» experience that I want to enjoy.

I went to Octoberfest with Ludus and Adam Dailey’s team. We had a great time… they had a great program from hotels to restaurants to beer houses and gardens. I would have missed out on a lot of really cool experiences had I just gone on my own with a few buddies. I highly recommend and am going to go to the Olypics with Ludus in Rio… You’ll be happy to you booked with these guys!

We had an amazing experience with Ludus. The customer service was fantastic from the very beginning. They were very responsive and helpful in answering all of our questions leading up to the event. Because of Ludus we had a first class experience in London while at the Olympics. I hope to be able to work with Ludus again in the future and I would highly recommend them.

I booked the October Fest tour package with Ludus a few months ago. Everything was perfectly organized, from the transportation, flight and accommodation. We had a killer time in Munich and look forward to doing this again next year.
I certainly will use Ludus for future events, such as the world cup in bBrazil.
