Seriously some of the best tortas I’ve eaten this side of the border!!! I always go and try different ones but the chorizo torta is my favorite. Plus there is a produce store right next door. So recently I started buying an avocado to cut up and put it on myself and damn!!! The chorizo comes with sautéed jalapeños and melted cheese plus with I swear a ¼ LB of ham. Adding avocado is a new idea this year, but I’ve been going here for like three and a half years now lol.

Tortas! Milanesa torta for the win! I use to come here often in the morning & it can get real busy as people get their fresh baked breakfast but the line goes fast! Ive been craving a torta & haven’t been here in over a year & there’s no better place to go for a torta than here. Wish I took a picture but the torta seemed a lot smaller than what I remember it to be. For $ 4.95 you get a Fresh toasted bollilo with refried beans that aren’t oily, thin cut onions, tomatoe, avocado & milanesa(pan fried battered meat). Wish I added queso fresco but for a dollar more I was good. One star deducted because although its been in the 80s here, this tiny place has poor air circulation(super hot even with the fan they had going over the front door) AND they got a fly issue! There was flies flying inside, even inside the covered racks of pan dulce! I probably should have deducted another star but what can i say? I prayed for my food & I love their tortas. Haha.

Best tortas around!!! The bread is perfectly toasted, warm and what they put inside is very yummy. I got the«torta regular» which comes with melted cheese, beans, jalapeño amd mayo… omg, a $ 3 heavenly experience… including the soda I got with it. They also have reg coffee or café con canela… delish! I’ve tried the pan dulce here, and it’s just okay… I come for the tortas! Don’t mind the sketchy neighborhood… it’s all groovy baby! Just lock ur car door

Unilocal talk conversation topic reminds me that I had to write a review on my favorite torta joint. I love the tortas here. I worked in the area. At sd dog daycare. I went there atleast once a week. You do have to go into the hood but if you aint looking for trouble its no issue at all. Dont be fooled most people in that area are good hard working people. There menu is very basic but I can say all the tortas are amazing. And I usually home cook my mexican food.(San diego has good mariscos but dont got any good taco shops) not to mention the tortas are very light, fresh bolios and its under $ 4 for a regular torta with ham or turkey. My personal favorite is the milanesa thiugh. Its rare to find milaneaa tortas. I take off 1 star because the actual pastries sre hit or miss and in hot months i have seen a fly or two in there so I cant reccommend that. But the tortas are so amazing iits a very minor defect in my eyes. ill take good pics next time im in there.

We were looking around the hood for a new pan dulce spot and ran into this place, it’s good! All of the bread was excellent and there was plenty of variety. Definitely going back.

Not to worried about sharing one of the hidden gems of San Diego. The street keeps away the faint of heart and the fact a few people have been killed recently in front should help with others. BUT if you are willing: The tortas here are the best. No second guess about it. The best bollio and telera –pan/bread-rolls in SD hands down. Some of the cookies are hit and miss but I love their custard. The Hot chocolate is divine. Pretty sure it is cash only and English as a language is not recognized. I like it.
