This is the only place I know of that has Dubia Roaches in SD county for my sweet beardie lady. Every other pet store only has crickets and they aren’t the best insect your reptile should eat. Dubias are the best option… no parasites, Live for a long time, don’t stink, don’t jump or fly, lots of protein, little fat. More meat. It’s also easy to gut load them, since it takes 72 hours for them to digest their food. Yeah. Their only downside is that they are expensive, which is why my hubby and I are going to build a Dubia roach colony. That’s another thing about Dubias, they are easy to breed.
Anyways it’s $ 5.99 per container of roachies and while expensive, I wouldn’t give my beardie anything less.
I enjoy this place every time I come here at least once every 2 weeks and the gentlemen that work here are very friendly and informative.
They have a wide variety of reptiles here and their terrarium accent pieces and other products are usually a dollar or two cheaper than petsmart and Petco.
Go here for your reptile supplies. You won’t regret it!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. In november my monitor that my husband and I raised for the last 10 years passed away. So for christmas I decided to purchase a monitor through LLL Reptile, whom I thought was a reptuable business, we go to every reptile show in California every year and we usually purchased all our supplies from them in the past. So naturally I thought they would be the place I should go to purchase our newest member. WORSE IDEA OF MY LIFE. I paid $ 150.00 for a monitor which wasnt bad in price and he was overnighted to me. When I received the animal he was sick, it was very apparent he was literally lifeless. I emailed LLL Reptile that same day letting them know they sent me a sick animal. You want to know what their shitty response was to me?! Instead of having great customer service and asking me to send back the sick animal and they would replace with a healthy one– they decided to «educate» me on the proper habitat for a monitor. Not only did that piss me off they cleary didnt realize that 1. this isnt my first time raising a reptile, and 2. my husband is a vet! So naturally we wanted to help the little guy out took him to a specialst and $ 500 later, the medication was working, the little guy started to perk up. I continued my contact with LLL Reptile because at this point I felt that they should refunded something because a $ 150.00 animal they sent me now cost me over $ 600.00 which is NOT RIGHT. NOT ONCE DID THEY OFFER ME TO SEND THE ANIMAL BACK AND THEY WOULD SEND ME A HEALTHY ANIMAL. You would think that that should of been the first thing they did right? No they decided to talk to me as if I was stupid and did not know what I was doing. Well yesterday when my husband woke up the little monitor died. At this point I am upset and disgusted. So instead of using email I made a phone call. I spoke with a «manager» whom has NO customer service skills. She told me that they gave me a $ 150.00 credit and that I could use that credit to purchase another monitor from them. WHY would I do that? WHY would I spend my money again for a monitor they sent me that wasnt 100%? And at what point did I consent that I wanted the $ 150.00 in credit. After this I dont EVER want to do business with them. I informed her that they should be sending me a healthy new monitor on them to replace the SICK ANIMAL THEY SENT ME and give me the $ 150.00 credit to make things right of this so wrong transaction. So of course she told me they cant they have a policy. The funny thing is is that the oringal person from LLL Reptile I contacted told me I did follow their policy by getting ahold of them within 3 days of purchase. It is completly wrong what they did. My husband and I go to every reptile show in california every year and we always bought our supplies through LLL Reptile. Trust me when I say I will never do business again with them. I am still waiting for some «owner» to call me and probably tell me the same BS that his staff already said. I am not happy and they have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. Can you tell from my post how upset I am over this? It isnt even about the money its about the fact that they sent me a SICK ANIMAL and will do NOTHING ABOUT IT. I just think others should know before they do any business with this company.

It can get crowded at times, but when it’s your turn, you’ll get the same level of engagement they gave the last guy from a knowledgeable and friendly helper. They were patient and accommodating with my kids when we were learning about ball pythons. It was a great educational experience for them. Now we have a new family member and go out of our way to get our food and supplies from LLL.

I have been meaning for months to review this store. I had ordered a first rate hood for my 75 gallon tank for a little eastern mud turtle on Amazon. It arrived so badly banged up I couldn’t ignore it or turn any way that the dents could be hidden. Had to repackage it in its shoddy, beaten up box and return it. Decided to order from LLL after a little more online research and after placing the order, called the customer service number and explained my experience with the manufacturer’s poor packaging coupled with Amazon’s and UPS’ further hard-​knock handling… I guess it was okay securely strapped to a pallet with eleven others of its kind in a boat from China, but it just couldn’t handle the truck drive to my house. Anyway, I requested the box to be more securely packed so that it wouldn’t be so subject to the hardships of life on the road (it had to cross the entire country), and the girls I spoke to very kindly offered that they would do their best to accommodate me. When my enormous box arrived, I saw that someone had taken the time to create another huge box around the manufacturer’s huge box and packed it well so that it could withstand the journey unscathed. I actually laughed, because boxes that size are not just lying around… so this thoughtful person had deconstructed and reassembled three different boxes to make this Frankenstein box to deliver my hood. Yup – took the time – the difference between a good shop and a great one. Thank you!
On another note, I imagine most reptile owners will disregard the one-​star review that says the tortoises were hungry and ill-​kept. However for those newbies that haven’t been introduced to turtle hunger, just know it’s like feeding a teenager, only they never grow out of it. It does not surprise me one bit to think of tortoises stepping on each other’s heads to get to a potential food source. My tiny little mud turtle rearranges her gravel every day madly paddling about, trying to swim through the glass while I prepare her food bucket. When I airlift her out, without fail she takes a swing at my finger as an appetizer. You would think that she hadn’t eaten in days, but the reality is that she eats every night. No, newbies, do not be alarmed at reptilian appetite. Regarding the filth a turtle can produce, let me say I cannot have enough filtration, and that is coming from a pretty meticulous keeper. Expecting perpetual cleanliness in a reptile habitat is like having a toddler and expecting the toys to always be picked up. Not possible. Not to mention that to draw a conclusion about the whole based on one brief encounter is faulty logic. My two cents.

These guys are outstanding! I wish I could remember the 2 guys’ names (maybe Chris and Sean? Both younger guys, one with curly locks and the other, dark hair) My Wife came in 1^st looking at tortoises and she waited for me to get off work to decide on a type of tortoise. We came it at about 6:30 which was 30 minutes before their closing time. I don’t like doing that to people but I hadn’t payed any attention to their closing time. At no point did we feel rushed or awkward. We ended up with a Sulcata tortoise! We also bought a cage and all the proper accessories! They both did a great job explaining everything and got us what was best for our little tortoise! We named him Darwin! He’s doing great! We also get all of our worms for our Bearded Dragon here too! Always great quality. Thanks for everything guys!

Great store! Very helpful & knowledgeable employees. Went in with my 11 year old and Chris helped her decide on the perfect pet. We walked out with a fully assembled tank (Thank You Angel!) and very happy kid & Crested Gecko! Just went back again with her friend and Shawn helped put together the perfect pet and tank to match her age level. Another gecko and now 2 VERY happy kids! Would definitely recommend this place to serious buyers.

LLL Reptile was so helpful in getting me prepared to take home my little man Axel, a deremensis chameleon. The staff was readily available and had almost everything I needed to complete my cage setup. Sean helped us pick out most of the items. He was very friendly and knowledgeable! I will definitely be shopping for supplies here again!

LLL Reptile is the very best. They have so many different choices and if it is not in the store it is online and they will make sure you get just what it is you are looking for.
When I went in today they had the jar of repashy gecko food I was looking for but it did not have a price and the employee that was helping me took time to search the website and all information so he could make sure I was given the proper information.
I also had some questions about my Veiled Chameleon and all of the employees gave me very detailed information that was very helpful.
I love this place, if you looking for any information about reptiles this is the place to go.

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE! I RECOMMEND PET KINGDOM!!! I’m not sure if people are being paid to post rave reviews for this place but during my first visit to this store I have never witnessed such obvious animal neglect – I am referring only to the health of the tortoises that I saw. I didn’t even bother to look at the other animals because I was about to lose my cool in front of my toddler – as it was I had to fight back tears while looking at the state of the shells of these poor animals – faded, and in some places misshapen. When my daughter and I walked in these poor things (20 or more) scurried to the glass because – I believe – they were hungry. I didn’t see any remnants of food on their floors and their water bowls were filthy. Filthy. Additionally they were fighting each other – nothing I ever witnessed at any other pet store – and I again believe they were fighting because they thought I was about to drop food for them. My daughter even noticed that there was something different about the tortoises here versus pet kingdom.

A great spot! Nice selection of reptiles. Nice supplies and cooler stuff your herp will love! Delicious bugs to nibble on, for my lizard not me. Friendly people working here. The have knowledge of their animals and seem like to have a passion for what they sell!
I bought my BETA fish «pesky» from them about 12 months ago! The little guy is the best fish ever! I had gotten betas at some big box pet stores before. Never had a good experience:(. Little guys never survived. My beta is awesome! Healthy and full of life .

Love coming here although this location is very small compared to their other locations they pretty much have everything you need and their prices are very good compared to other places. They are my place to go for anything I need for my Panther chameleon. Their staff is pretty helpful and pretty knowledgable.

My boyfriend has been wanting an albino pacman frog for a couple months now. I called this location inquiring about prices and equipment. Their prices were very reasonable and everyone was very nice. i would recommend!

It’s been difficult for me to finally sit down and write an accurate review for LLL. There are obviously some staff member whom love their job and everything about it, then there are some that seem to just be going through the motions. However, after making several visits, sometimes multiple times a week, the staff will warm up to you. There is certainly a difference in how they treat ‘regulars’ versus ‘walk-​in’ customers. While I’ve never been teated poorly nor have I seen or experiences anyone else treated poorly there is still a noticeable difference in the interactions between regulars and walk-​ins.
This store isn’t very big and the aisles can feel. Little cramped. But if you take your time and browse around you’ll find they have just about everything you could want. Or if you can’t find it on your own, grab the attention of an employee and they will help you find what your looking for. The staff has always been helpful with questions and knowledgeable with advise and tips.
There is a nice selection of reprisals, amphibians, insects and arachnids (if you’re into those). I typically stop in for feeder crickets, worms, and the like.
I most certainly recommend this store for anyone looking for a reputable reptile store.

So after making the decision to get a few new pets, I wanted them quickly and didn’t want to go far to get them. Therefore, I went to the pet store closest to home (ocean beach). The place was way overpriced and, aside from one employee who was very chill, the rest seemed super annoyed I was in there asking questions. And this is not from one time going into the store, as I still go there for crickets and still get the same vibe.
Anyway, I checked online for some other stores and found LL Reptile. I went to the location on Mission Gorge Rd and was super stoked to see such a difference in the price of animals and supplies, not to mention a larger variety of species. Also, all the guys working there were very cool and just seemed happy to be helping me and answering my questions (even though I didn’t buy anything).
Since that particular location didn’t have exactly what I wanted (a hypo citrus baby bearded dragon) I went up to the Oceanside location and was even more impressed with the huge selection. I ended up buying a baby bearded and an entire setup for very cheap when compared to the other store I had went to. Now I know I can be a pain in the ass sometimes due to my spastic nature, but Allan, the guy answering my questions, was awesome and never once did he make me feel like I was a pest. To summarize, Allan is the coolest, and LL Reptile is an awesome, inexpensive store!

Great place, great prices, friendly & great staff… what else can I say about a reptile store. :)

Well I’d seen enough of my friends Beardies so I decided to get my setup here. Shawn was great as he got me all the basics and helped me pick out my now named dragon, Apollo.
He is still very healthy and growing fast.
This place is great. Avoid the Petco and Petsmart. You need qualified, knowledgable reptile people and they just don’t have what it takes at those big pet outlets.
I must say my 40 gallon glass terrarium with sliding screen top is great but with the Zoomed single UVA/​UVB light a lamp stand is really required for ease of access. Which wasn’t recommended. I have since purchased one.
To set the light on top and always carefully remove it when opening it is a pain and could damage it. Now no more.
In summation if you are looking for a reptile, specifically a bearded dragon this is THE place to go.
Plus the prices are better than the name brand pet stores!

Ive been coming here for about a year now for most supplies and feeders. They always have everything I need and are always helpful. Plus the manager is hot. She has always answered any questions I’ve had.
Btw I have been to all three locations, mission gorge, escondido, and oceanside. This is the smallest of the 3 but always has everything in stock.

I was that kid growing up that always had pets. Snakes, lizards, cats, dogs, birds, fish, ferrets, I’ve had them all. So I’ve seen my share of pet stores… from the large corporate to the small neighborhood pet store.
LLL is a great little shop with a nice selection of reptiles with every thing you need. Good for the experienced owner and perfect for the young kid buying his first little iguana with terrarium setup. Not the cheapest but also not the most expensive in town. I feel the staff here are helpful and knowledgable. I had some issues with a boa that wasn’t feeding and they gave me some helpful tips that helped remedy the problem.
I’m a fan and will continue to support LLL.

LLL is the best place to go for feeding/​supplying your reptiles. I am extremely happy LLL decided to move here because it is much closer to me than the Escondido and Oceanside locations.
Crickets are 20 for $ 1. No need for a membership card. You can request a punch card that builds towards free crickets every time you buy. They are very generous with their crickets. Unlike other stores that try to count out exact amounts. However, some times they run out of crickets during the weekends so its best to go during the weekdays.
It really seems like they take care of their Reptiles. Enclosures are always clean or in the process of being cleaned. I see the associates misting those that require higher humidity when I visit.
The associates are young (sometimes seems like enjoy their job way too much) but they are always willing to help.
It can feel cramped very fast because the aisles are small. Especially since it becomes a place for family trips at times.
I also used to buy Frozen/​Live mice/​rats. Their prices were significantly better than other stores.
This location used to be a Reptile City. It was small, dimly lit, packed, and hot!!! I was skeptical when LLL expanded and converted to this location primarily because the size of the store. LLL made the necessary improvements and made this location work!!! LLL did a great job converting this location to fit all their reptiles and supplies. LLL has always been my store of choice for my Reptile needs. I will continue to shop here so long as they continue to provide their great prices and customer service.

You know how you go into some pet stores and you ask about getting a pet and they’re like totally disdainful that you don’t already know all there is to know? Not here. My daughter bought her cornsnake here, and they helpfully provided as much info as we needed. Baby mice («pinkies») are about $ 6 for 10 mice here, as opposed to Petco where they are $ 5 for just 3. They have a large selection of reptiles and I think what they don’t have they will try to get for you. They also have set-​ups and tons of accessories.
The store’s tucked away in a strip mall on the corner of Zion and Mission Gorge, across from KFC.
