I would give Dr Schlitt 0 stars if I could. He is very arrogant, and did not listen to me, the patient. I came in for a condition that I have chronically in the Winter for which I have been sucessfully treated with the Zpac. I usually see Dr Benke at this office (an amazing Doctor) but she was not on there that day. Dr Schlitt refused to give me the Zpac (mentionning how the Zpac is not treating sinusitis/​bronchitis which is not true, according to other doctors, and the pharmacist and literature), and prescribed me to an antibiotica I have never taken before. This despite me mentionning several times that I prefer to take the ZPac as I have taken it before for the same condition. The Zpac is easier to take as it is only a 5 days treatment. The Sulfa antibiotica Dr Schlitt prescribed is a 10 day treatment, and since I have never taken it before, I don’t know if I would develop an allergic reaction to it. Then Dr Schlitt made we wait for an hour for the written prescription of this medicine. STAY AWAY from this doctor, and instead see Dr Benke or Dr Julia at this office — they are real doctors, listening and making decisions TOGETHER with the patient.
Due to this, I had to spend a lot of time waiting and spending another $ 20 to see another doctor at Urgent Care. Thankfully the Urgent Care doctor agreed with me that it is wiser to give me an antibiotica (the ZPac) that I was previously prescribed for the same condition (Upper respitory infection — Sinusitis/​Bronchitis) and that we know has helped me before, and has not caused me any allergic reactions.

Larry is a great physician. My wife and I went to him for 10 years before we moved away from San Diego to Los Angeles. We haven’t been able to find someone as accessable, smart and thorough. What I like is that he is current with the latest information despite the fact that he is long out of school, and has a common sense approach to testing and treatment he prescribes. In fact, I just decided to drive 100 miles to have a physical with him next month.

Visited Dr. Schlitt for a preventative visit paid for by my insurance company. At the initial visit he was friendly, suspiciously friendly. I almost felt like I was subjected to a sales pitch, recommending all kinds of tests.
A few weeks later I receive a bill. As it turns out his office didn’t code my visit as preventative. His office refused the change the billing code and my insurance company refused to pay.
A year later, at my next annual preventative visit, I told him what happened. Dr. Schlitt basically told me it was my fault for choosing this health insurance plan.
I asked him how he would feel if he goes to his car dealer and orders an oil change, but gets billed for a tune up? He got my point, but said that our relationship had been compromised and he can’t see me anymore. Good news, he didn’t bill me for the second visit (at least not yet).

I had a meeting with Dr. Schlitt and liked his manners and attention. I would recommend him

Dr. Schlitt is awesome! He sees my entire family. He has been so kind to squeeze my children into his schedule when they were sick. He has really helped my kids with their allergies and dermatology issues. When I first moved here, Dr. Schlitt ran a lot of tests. At first, I thought it was weird, but I never had a family physician before. I was so happy that he did run those test, because we found out that I had a vitamin D deficiency, and he was readily able to fix that! I am as healthy as ever and have more energy! I have seen all of the doctors at this practice, and they are all top-​notch!

I have found Dr. Schlitt an awesome physician for my parents. I’m extremely glad he orders tests as needed, rather than taking the «wait and see» approach of some physicians. I harangued my parents to switch from their prior doctor, and was so glad they landed with a good one.

I chose him a while ago because I worked on the same block as his office. The issue about this doctor is that he overprescribes unnecessary lab tests for increasing his retirement fund (he owns the lab located inside the office). For routine checks on the liver function for the medication I was taking, he would double the lab schedules for no valid reason. I have a medical background so I know there was something odd about his practice. Sure enough, after I mentioned it with my colleague who had him as her doctor as well, we both agreed that he was not the type of doctor one should go to unless he/​she doesn’t mind spending the unwarranted lab money and getting poked by endless needles.
