I am genuinely grateful that I made the choice to hire Caitlin Steele to handle my divorce case over a year ago. I am in the home stretch of getting this thing finalized and could not imagine having any other attorney by my side during this ordeal.
Early on — I was told by numerous law professionals that the outcomes that I was looking for were not possible. Caitlin warned me to be realistic — but looked at the case and facts and we came up with many «out of the box» ideas that ended up helping my case and limited the amount of support I am paying to my ex-​husband.
Divorce is unpleasant for all involved — but Caitlin kept the case on track — knew her stuff inside and out — and really understood my position while dealing with the courts and my ex-husband’s attorney. My questions, emails and phone calls were always answered promptly and efficiently throughout the entire case. Advice that she gave me in my first meeting with her have saved me tens of thousands of dollars throughout the case. She was not out to increase fees — she always had my best interest at heart.

I cannot recommend this law office more highly. As a physician and law-​abiding citizen, I’ve never really had a significant personal legal issue, but I unfortunately recently encountered a crazy woman who tried to mess with me. I initially hired a Beverly Hills attorney to help me, who claimed to be an expert and turned out to be a crook. I just figured that’s what all lawyers were like. Then I gave Dave Beavans a call for a second opinion, and what an incredible difference! Dave literally spent an hour on the phone with me listening to my situation and researching it, and giving me sound advice which actually made sense for a change. Then I went to his office (at the end of the work day) and he stayed late to explain everything to me patiently in even greater detail. When I decided to fire my previous attorney and hire Dave, he even took the time to explain everything in the attorney-​client agreement, and what it meant. A lot of lawyers explain nothing and just say «sign here» and then screw you over. This was different. Dave truly understood how I felt and walked me through everything. Just as a good doctor has not only thorough medical knowledge but can also sympathize and put himself in his patient’s shoes, Dave truly understands how confusing, scary, and complicated the legal world can be for a client, and it shows. From start to finish it is clear that he is on your side 100% in every aspect – legally, financially, personally, and emotionally. I have learned that finding a good lawyer is not easy. I’m so glad I found this law firm and although I hope I will not need them again, I know where to come if I do!

I was recommended by a friend to go speak with David Beavans about, what I thought, wasn’t a very strong case. We had a family situation that put us in a serious bind. I was referred to this firm via another practice due to the urgency of my request. An attorney (Caitlin) met me within hours, and generated all of the necessary paperwork. I was able to file in less than 24 hours. She also represented me at our court date. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the services I have received from David Beavans and his legal team. I hired David after searching around for a family law attorney months ago. My Aunt is retired from working in a law firm and after her own research she suggested David to represent me in what should have been a cut and dry case. You may think your family law case should be easy enough to handle, but the other party can be quite unpredictable in these sensitive situations. My simple case faced twists and turns that could have still kept me waiting to this day to get resolved. Luckily I hired David and his excellent staff to take care of it all. First, let me start by saying I’ve reviewed tons of other businesses, mostly restaurants, via Unilocal and this is my first review of a lawyer/​law firm. This was not my first interaction with a lawyer and only precipitated the need to write this review due to David’s superior practice, professional interaction and true concern for his clients above and beyond the scope of any lawyer I’ve dealt with in the past.
My family member needed a family law lawyer for what should have been a simple divorce, in addition to a restraining order… not a great situation to be in, but nonetheless, one you need a good lawyer for. Having gone through a similar situation myself in the past, I was involved throughout the entire process, at meetings as well as at court. From the beginning, David and his team streamlined the divorce proceedings and got the restraining order in place. Through diligent and thorough case work research, David discovered there was an opportunity for annulment vs dissolution. We quickly amended the course of our defense for an even better outcome. From the very beginning, it was clear that David and his team were driven by their genuine care for their client and aggressively fight for the best outcome possible.
While not all cases are the same, if you are looking for a lawyer that you can trust, is ethical, and will work to ensure a positive outcome, look no further. David and his team know the law, how to get things done in a timely manner, communicate effectively and efficiently with their client, and always strive to make sure you are satisfied. The best advice I could give is stop looking for a lawyer, go see David, and start getting your legal matters handled and over with it. There is no better legal team in San Diego!!!

Weird. I felt really excited after reading the excellent reviews. Their location is convenient and I loved that they offer a free consult… but not really. When I called to schedule, they wouldn’t let me make an appt. Apparently, I needed to have a conversation with the associate attorney first. The legal assistant took down the details about my case and said I’d here back in a couple hours, but 2 days later, still nothing. It’s sort of a waste of valuable time that I could have been using to find someone else if they weren’t a good fit, which apparently they’re not.
**I’m changing to 1 star because I actually called a few days later and left a v/​m, and still didn’t get a call back. Pretty unprofessional.
