Ben makes criminal court appearances in all San Diego area courts (downtown, Vista, El Cajon, and Chula Vista), and travels to Riverside and Orange Counties and throughout Southern California as needed. As appointed indigent defense counsel in Imperial County, he travels to El Centro and Brawley on behalf of clients.

Ben specializes in representing clients accused of all felony and misdemeanor offenses including: DUI, Burglary, Robbery, Drug Possession, Theft, Battery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Drug Sales, Rape, Vehicular Manslaughter, Domestic Violence, Prostitution, Fraud, Murder, Prop 36, Transportation, Pimping, Carjacking, Minor in Possession, Stolen Property, and Firearm violations.

Ben also helps clients with issues related to prior convictions including: 1203.4 Expungement, Reducing Felony Wobbler Convictions to Misdemeanors, and Early Termination of Probation.

Business Owner

Ben is a panel attorney with the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) operated by the San Diego County bar association. He has also been appointed by the Imperial County Superior Court as indigent defense counsel for misdemeanor, felony and state prison cases.

Ben has nearly 10 years of criminal law experience. Prior to becoming a defense lawyer, Ben worked for the Imperial, Ventura, and Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Offices where he observed the defenses and trial strategies that were most effective in trials and plea negotiations, as he worked to oppose them. That experience on the other side has given him valuable insight into the types of defenses that are worth raising in court.

Ben is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and Loyola Law School. He is also a product of the esteemed William Hobbs Trial Advocacy Program and Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review.

Ben is an avid hiker, a Sierra Club member and hockey player.
