History

Established in 2007.

After law school Steven Kaftal spent three years working for a longtime local attorney, well-​respected in the legal community and highly experienced in both state and federal court. In 2007, Steven branched out on his own and has since become a well-​respected member of the local legal and business community.

He strives to provide quality, personalized legal services at reasonable prices local residents while also giving back to the community through his weekly pro bono work.

Steven Kaftal grew up in Burbank, California and graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in Political Science. After working in the Los Angeles area as a middle school teacher for many years he moved to San Diego where he attended Thomas Jefferson School of Law. After law school he spent three years working for a highly respected local attorney before starting his own law firm.

Steven is an accomplished musician and can often be found sitting in on electric guitar at local clubs. He has also recorded a self-​produced album of original music. He enjoys swimming, sailing and biking as well.

Steven is active in the local community, being a longtime member of the Greater San Diego Business Association. He also does a great deal of Pro Bono work, including working at the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program’s Hillcrest Free Legal Clinic every Monday.
