Mr. Peed spent over 30 years as a Deputy District Attorney in San Diego and Riverside Counties, during which time he tried over 80 criminal cases. Mr. Zakhour gained his experience as a young attorney working at some of the top criminal defense firms in Downtown San Diego. The firm’s practice is conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Diego, just a few blocks from the Superior and District Courts. History

Established in 2014.

Founded in April of 2014, Mr. Zakhour opened his firm after spending the first years of his legal career learning and working at highly reputable and established local criminal defense firms. In August of 2015, Garland Powell Peed IV left the Riverside District Attorney’s office to join the firm as a partner, thereby bringing him back to the city where he spent over 25 years as a Deputy District Attorney. With Mr. Peed and Mr. Zakhour working on cases together, the firm is able to accurately analyze cases not only from a defense standpoint, but also from the perspective of the prosecutor. Originally from Dallas, Texas, I moved to San Diego in 2005 when I received a scholarship to the University of San Diego. I graduated with a degree in English in 2009 and pursued a legal education at California Western School of Law, where I graduated in 2012. My primary practice areas are State and Federal Criminal Defense. Throughout my career, I have found that success is achieved when an attorney is passionate about his or her client’s cause. The most effective representation is that of the attorney who empathizes, believes, and truly wants to help the client. I strive to run my practice with that philosophy. The greatest satisfaction in this profession is a client’s thanks for a job well-​done. An attorney’s job, when it is done well, has the power to right a wrong; to provide an individual with a second chance; and to be an understanding, strong, helping hand when a person is facing a difficult time in his or her life.

Sam is amazing. I was having some issues and needed counsel for obtaining an RO. He sat down with me, was able to help me throughout the whole process. He went above and beyond and invests himself in every case. I have used Sam twice over the years and I will share my experiences for those with interest. Overall Sam was a very professional, hard working and confident person, he treated me as a person with compassion and not just a source of income. Both of my parents passed away within a period of 3 years and they left no wills or trusts. I hired Sam and he’s done a flawless job at a very affordable rate compared to some of the other quotes I had received from other attorneys. Through the course of probate I had another issue arise with a vintage Camaro which was mine. I was being extorted by a body shop (for a ridiculous amount of money) and Sam professionally and diligently helped return this precious car to my possession from a very shady body shop. He was always there to answer my questions and made my needs a priority. I would strongly recommend him and cannot thank him enough for the services he has provided me.

I contacted Sam after I was bullied by an ABC officer in front of my family during a public sporting event. I wasn’t drinking and the officer had no business attempting to flex his muscle and show everyone his badge. I now found my self in an extremely un favorable position. I explained to the officer that he had no business harassing me or my family and ultimately, I ended up in hand cuffs. It took a year, well almost a year or Sam’s steadfast perseverance but ultimately the opposition understood we weren’t going to take a «deal» to avoid a trial. Sam was professional, articulate, and explained everything to my family as we progressed through this ordeal. I felt confident with him by our side. Thank you sam. My wife, myself, and our brand new baby boy thank you for going above and beyond.

I wouldn’t really refer to Sam simply as an attorney or a lawyer. No, he is much more than temporary legal counsel. Mr, Zakhour is an entrusted confidant for life. When we first met, my life was rapidly spinning out of control. I was facing the possibility of three or more violent felony charges, had law enforcement coming into my place of business looking for me, I was forced out of my home, and I was financially depressed due to the circumstances. I truly felt as if the world was against me. Sam assured me he was on the case immediately, and kept me posted every day about the status of everything. Many months later I am happy to say that I have no convicted or pending felonies and I have yet to spend a single day of my life behind bars, nor do I expect to. In fact I have found my entire life turned around thanks to him. He is a professional who values his clients as people and selflessly accommodates them in their needs and concerns. He is far more knowledgeable and tactical than any other attorney I’ve experienced as well. Sam really went the extra mile to achieve the desired result in my case (Prop 47 case — Termination of Parole). He went above and beyond what most attorneys would do. I contacted Sam about two weeks ago when I had a legal issue. Within 3 hours I was in his office talking about my issue. He spent an hour and a half with me. I left feeling much better about my situation and as of today, my issue has been resolved in exactly the way I wanted. Sam is extremely thorough and worked very quickly on my issue.
