KOGO-AM 600 News Talk

You guys shouldnt put yourself on Unilocal,too many pissed off democrats. Youll gain nothing from this. But i also know nothing.

The Republican Party has billions of dollars freed up by a partisan Supreme Court that defined corporations as people. It has voter suppression laws in almost all the red States. It dominates the internet with GOP propaganda and lies. It dominates religious radio and TV with it’s attacks on liberals. It dominates cable TV with partisan faux news on Fox. It has the Wall Street Journal and many newspapers parroting it’s talking points and propaganda; and it has thousands of radio hate talk shows across the country offering free campaign advertising for Republicans 24/​7, disguised as infotainment. KGO is one of these corrupt stations offering nothing but repetitive, boring and anti-​American hate the Government, hate the Democrats, and cheerleading for Obama’s and now Hillary’s failure, while demonizing all things liberal.
It is corrupt because it is using the Public airwaves to offer free campaign advertising for one political party and attacking another, all disguised as talk radio programming. Hannity and Limbaugh are the featured cheerleaders for anti-​American and un patriotic partisan attacks on President Obama and the American Government. And they already have started the same campaign against Hillary.
How do they and all the rest of the extremist right wing radio stations across the country like them, convince supposedly politically neutral national advertisers to support this divisive, dangerous and unpatriotic hate radio programming?
What kind of uninformed and obviously low IQ people listen to this repetitive propaganda and lies every day, and take their voting orders and thinking orders from the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity who have gotten very rich selling, self serving Republican brainwashing to them?
Why doesn’t KGO and their clones offer alternating liberal talking heads on their programming?
Couldn’t they sell more advertising and attract more listeners if they had some liberal talkers on their station. After all San Diego is about 50% Republican and 50% Democrat. Why don’t their advertisers get it? They are not reaching 50% of potential customers for their products, (liberals), such as me that want to throw up every time I accidently land on KGO.

Love LaDonna she gets 5 stars… loved Chris Merrill… Sully is awesome 5 stars… But Carl DeMaio is scrapping the bottom of the barrel… it’s no wonder the GOP cant find a decent candidate. look we didn’t elect him… he is a windy arrogent unelected official that holds himself and his thoughts in high esteem… But can’t u do better… he really is no good radio…
Find a better moderator… that actually knows what he is talking about…

This station is awful. If you’re looking for talk shows hosted by angry conservatives and failed right wing politicians, this is the place for you. It’s just another right wing station that claims to be «news».

As far as I know, this the only conservative talk radio station in San Diego. They play the Rush Limbaugh show, which I enjoy occasionally. The afternoon talk is pretty good, The Demaio Sullivan report is very informative. Occasionally I feel like the programming is a bit amateurish, which is why I only leave 4 stars.

Changed my station. Turned KOGO off in the morning. Too much bad news reported at 5:00am everyday. You people are sick. Even Ladonna has to bite her tongue everyday. KFI am640 Bill Handel is obnoxious but they don’t graphically report a pregnant woman holding her husbands hand after he has been shot-​Disgusting. Who wants to hear about fatal car accidents as opening lead story as I wake up at 5:00 am everyday? And the Wall Street Journal lady Patrice comes on and it’s like children’s romper-​room with the selfish inside jokes and sarcasm. How much are these adults getting paid for this? Only good newscaster left on your station is Cliff Albert. He takes everything serious. Does he approve of the content of your morning news? There are two buttons on a radio and I changed my station.

I’ve tried coming back to listen to the new format. OMG, it’s worse than ever. Wow!

For the most part, a very good station. I am a BIG fan of Ladona Harvey. She is awesome. Getting more used to the morning show with Chris Merrill. Like him more and more. I am NOT a Rush fan. But the rest of the station is very nice for information and entertainment. The weekend programming’s highpoint is definitely The Home Pro Show on 9AM on Saturdays. Love those guys.

This new guy is worse than Chip Franklin. Chip was whiney. This new guy is just too much for the morning, he’s brash, loud, and so negative. I can’t listen more than 30 seconds and I have to change the station. He took Ellen’s giving the waitress money and turned that into a negative.
What ever happened to reporting the news and stop putting their personal spin on things? I listen to a Los Angeles station to get the news on what is happening. I can make up my own mind without being brainwashed by these guys.

I missed Chip Franklin. Chris Merrill is good though. I wonder what caused them to fire him. Will probably never know.

Every time I hear AM-​600 KOGO on the radio it seems like it’s some other relatively extreme right wing talk-​radio host. Oh right, did I mention they host Rush Limbaugh too?
Unless you’re looking for some crazy right wing hyperbole, avoid this like the plague. It has my grandmother eating out of its hand, she practically bites mine off if I try to change the station too. ._.;

So ok, you do fine when you are actually reporting like the electrical outage was like old times! Good, informative, non right wing stuff. Oh where did the actual news shows go? Not here. «Chip» Franklin is a right wing repetitive bore, a right wing repetitive bore. Then again the whole line up is, except LaDonna Harvey-(but she’s got her elephant going too) is she on-​I don’t even listen to kogo’s commercials or updates. The only thing I listen to is the Wall Street Journal report in the morning, then I switch to KFI-​something that will give me news while not trying to recruit me to the non-​thinking party. Stacey Taylor was a jewel in the rough and you guys could not handle it. Too bad you screwed up. I only listen in emergencies. I hope KPBS gets their kinks out so I can listen to them instead in times of emergency.

I don’t think I had ever listened to this station before yesterday. But they had EXCELLENT, immediate, thorough, up-​to-​the-​minute and continuous coverage all during the blackout. Great job, KOGO.

So the reason I originally wrote a review of KOGO was because of my dissatisfaction with the new morning show format with Chip Franklin. Over the past few years, he’s gotten more settled in, and I feel compelled to upgrade my review of the entire station.
The rest of the daytime line-​up is pretty good as well, although I don’t get the opportunity to tune in much during the day. And that’s probably a good thing, since I really do need to be concentrating on my work and not listening to LaDona or Roger.
I will say, however, that the freak show comes on at 10pm, with Coast-​to-​Coast. It might actually be fun to listen to, just for laughs, if the callers didn’t actually believe so strongly the insanity they are citing as reality. There are some seriously LOONY people out there.

I only started listening to this radio station because of Dr. Laura. Although I don’t always agree with her point of view I love listening to some of the people who call in with the stupidest questions! «Dr. Laura, my son goes to a private Christian school and they are having Pirate day at school tomorrow. I don’t wanna send my son dressed as one because it promotes violence and illegal activity» Just let your kid wear a pirate suit your making a big deal about it she tells the caller! She’s totally direct in her answers. What’s also neat about this radio station is that they are always up on the breaking news!
Usually when that Chip Fraklin guy comes on I shut it off. He seems so arrogant and laughs at this own jokes. Who does that? He’s an idiot and his political and moral views are garbage!

I only like this station for Dr. Laura.
She cracks me up.

Too many syndicated talk shows. The local shows use to be good, but are focusing on going national. Views and programming moved too far to the right for my taste. Rodger is still fairly entertaining. Too many commercials. Bad, untimely traffic reports, news updates stink.

NO… I use them because they have great traffic reports and I have a long ass commute up the 15 from South Park way South. The morning guy Chip Franklin is a sober and more idiotic version of Rod Luck. This guy is a Conservative whack job who is constantly making gay jokes AND not only that, he is NOT funny, is boring and insults his lady co-​host who is his news anchor.
Greatest moment evah was when he had a lady journalist from the Wall Street Journal on to do a money report. He kept interjecting his stupid comments while she was trying to report. She finally asked him if he would kindly «shut up» so that she could finish and get off of the line! LOL OL! He seemed to whimper…
OH and the best ever is that they are such wh*res they are allowing the pro-​8 haters to post numerous ads for Prop 8 — three in a row at the top of each hour!
My brains almost had a melt-​down this morning. I switched to KGB who has equally as good traffic reports and where all they talk about are dicks… Better and easier listening than that complete baffoon.

There once was a time when I was a big Roger Hedgecock fan. Not any more, but I do applaud him for all the work he does with Operation Homefront for the military.
Occasionally Roger can be interesting and I tune in now and then, but I have moved on to the big player — KFI in Los Angeles — heard crystal clear down here in San Diego. I recall too much of his shenanigans when he was mayor and it turns me off.
Also, they are losing the 100% news focus in the AM morning rush from what I hear and they will be going with some new lame host.
Oh well, life moves on.
