Mike took his elbows into my sore shoulders and worked me over. It was just what I needed. Painfully delightful. I keep trying different foot massage places. This one was friendly, very clean and had the most comfortable chairs of any I’ve been to. They have different packages than most places. Lots of options for tired overworked bodies like mine. This is now best of two in San Diego. I will be back to update if needed.

I had a really awful experience at this spa today and it was bad enough that I won’t go back! First of all, I had a foot soak and then added a reflexology massage and the massage therapists in the group room talked, joked around and laughed with one another off and on while serving clients. I thought this was very unprofessional and did not contribute to a relaxing environment. I wasn’t going to say anything about it or even Unilocal the spa until the next event took place. When I came into the spa, the woman working the front desk asked if I wanted to add a reflexology massage. I asked her: «How much will that be then?» She told me $ 26. I was then under the impression that my total would be $ 26, in addition I had a $ 17 credit, so I expected my total to be $ 9. Initially when I went in I thought the total was going to be $ 21 minus $ 17, and I would owe $ 4. So, when I finished my massage and she told me that I owed $ 30, I was extremely surprised. I explained to her what I thought she meant and she apologized and said she would take off the foot soak portion. I agreed because then I would be paying $ 26, which is what I initially thought just before I went in for my massage. Then, she tells me I owe her $ 20. I didn’t want to stand and argue with her about it in front of people so I left the spa and called her later. She explained to me that she only gave me a discount for the foot soak, this is something she did not explain to me at the front desk. Long story short, I went in there today planning on paying $ 4 plus a tip and I came out of they’re paying $ 20 plus a tip and that was after I had to argue with the woman to get the price down. This woman at the front desk, in my opinion, has extremely poor communication skills. It should be very clear to the client before receiving services what the total price is going to be. Then, if a client isn’t happy because there was a misunderstanding or some confusion, in my opinion, good customer service would be to just give the client the price that he or she thought was agreed upon. I can’t help but feeling like I got tricked into paying way more than I thought I was going to. What has happened to good customer service?

My sister took me here for my birthday this weekend. We got a late apt 9:30pm. we both got a director package. «the hot wax is HOT so don’t scream «she warned me beforehand and I am SO happy she did. I massage was great I wish it was longer I did’t want it to stop. I was sad that they dip your feet in the wax and don’t wait to long to take it off. i wished it was on longer felt warm and cozy after the shock of the heat wore off. a bit expensive but a relaxing experience.

This is the best place!!! I stop coming because i have been working way too much and today i decided to do something for myself… I feel so relax and stress free. Thank you!!! I am seriously! Thank you!!!

Excellent. We come back every year on vacation to go there twice. Recommend the president package. Hour foot massage and hour body massage AND sauna for only $ 85!!! LOVE!

Last time I came here last year was great! I went again today was very disappointed! The lady (Lucy)didn’t speak English, the guy kept having to translate for her! She was so hard I kept telling her it’s too hard it hurts! U can tell from my body movement that it was hurting! I’ve been to many massages and I just wish she done better, she barely massage my hands and feet! Than I requested paraffin wax and I noticed that they don’t use a bag and just dip my feet in the paraffin wax which was dip in after my cousin than they move the bucket to me and had me dip my feet in! I was watching them the whole entire time, from my cousin to me to my other two
Friends! What happen if our feet was not cleaned? Im used to getting my paraffin wax in a plastic bag and later thrown out! And I noticed that lady ddnt massage my feet after while
My cousins all had a little two min massage! Very disappointed! I was thinking about coming back here in March to take my cousin for her bday but now I don’t no!
But what i like about this place is u have the option to decide if u want the private one where ur by urself w ur friend which cost more. If u check in ur massage is only $ 39!

Came here after a long 11 day stint of work. I bartend and serve. 11 straight days of dealing with people, standing/​walking for 5 – 8 hours straight a day takes a toll on your body. I had the day off today and decided to take time for myself and treat myself to a massage. It was a wonderful experience. I purchased the «Presidential» package, 60 minute full body massage 60 minute reflexology massage (definitely needed for the feet!) the detox feet soak and a Vichy shower. Everything sounded perfect and exactly what I needed to refocus and reconnect with my body for a very fair price! The massages were great, I had Perry. He did a great job feeling my problem areas, without me saying a word and working on them adequately.
Now to the Vichy Shower. I have had a few and they are just simply, amazing. The shower is the sole reason why I give 4 stars. 1. I should have read the reviews for this place and their Vichy Shower before going in, as others had the same experience. 2. I should have known something was amiss when the receptionist asked me, if I wanted to opt out of the shower for an extra 10 minute massage. Perry finishes my massage, then leads me into the shower room. Looking around it looked nothing out of the ordinary, but not the type of shower bed I’ve had before as it didn’t look as high tech or «fancy» as the others. Still had the same general idea as the other places. I got rubbed down with the soap and then was thinking the shower heads above were going to come on. Nope, it was a similar hand held shower head I have in my own shower. He held and moved around as rinsed me with it. AWKWARD! Had I known this from the start, I probably would have opted out of this and gone for the extra 10 minute massage. I could have done the same thing to myself or get the service done at a local nursing home.
My suggestion, skip skip skip the Vichy «geriatric» shower and go with more massage time. Other than this, I had a great experience and will be back, sans Vichy, unless they go back to the real way!

I came here about 2 months ago with my husband to get our couples massage which was AMAZING! I had been to 3 other massage places throught san diego this one was the best. I use to go to Bamboo Spa is was okay but nothing like karma relaxation spa. Great customer service, Great prices & has you feeling amazing after. My mom has a Foot Condition so she is very sensitive i brought her to get a full body massage including her feet and she loved it. The massuese was very understanding and gentle and she appreciated how amazing her feet felt after. Im Excited i have made another appt. For this month to get another great couples massage.

My friend made a reservation here, was nice to get a 2^nd massage in a week after the rough holiday period. She booked for a full body massage, great price. Yes, it’s a regular massage where you get naked. We didn’t opt for the foot massage, which I usually get at massage places.
The woman that massaged me was excellent. I was so wound up and tense from stress, she found all my knots and worked them out. We requested deep tissue, this was definitely it. I was happy she got to all my knotted muscles, I could feel it as she was working them out. A few times she had painful pressure, but I didn’t say anything because I know that it was mostly my tight muscles that was the problem, not the pressure she used. I felt great after and very relaxed. Will definitely be back for their full body massage. I’ll have to try their foot massage next time.
Make sure you make a reservation, they are sometimes super busy and unable to take walk ins. Also please tip your masseuse well.

This spa had a terrible smell. The individual who gave me a massage smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke. The entire place was infused with plug in air fresheners. This ruined my experience.
The massage itself was mediocre but I guess for the price, you get what you pay for. Choose somewhere else for your relaxation experience.

Pretty darn awesome! Came here for a massage with a friend tonight and was pleasantly surprised! For $ 25, you get an hour long foot massage which turns out in the end to be a full body massage with a focus on the feet and calves. The foot massage is in their general massage room, so there are other people with you, but it is quiet and the lights are dim, and my eyes were closed anyway! My masseuse Mike was fantastic. Great pressure level– I like a massage that really gets the knots out! He was careful to check in with me during the massage to make sure the pressure was just right. My overall experience was 5 stars, although I know that friends who have come here before have had hit or miss experiences. I love that I can walk in and have a nice, late night massage right in my neighborhood! Can’t believe I waited so long to try this place out! Clean, friendly service, fantastic value, great hours, and they even have their own parking in Hillcrest. I will definitely be back!

We have been coming here since they opened. As members, we get the best deals and earn a free massage after 10 massages. Scary how quickly they add up! I have a standing appointment with Sasa every week. My husband likes Jasmine because she walks on his back. The hot towel treatment is my favorite part.
We travel the world and stay in some nice hotels. I’ve always loved a good spa treatment. Now I am disappointed because they aren’t as good as Sasa and WAY more expensive!

My boyfriend and I went here during Pride. After the massage, he left an expensive bracelet in the box where they have you put your clothes in the massage room. Within TEN minutes of leaving the place, we ran back to retrieve it. They provided us with a lame excuse that the room was now being occupied and we’d have to return at the hour. We asked then to call us as soon as they found it, but they did not. When we returned they said they checked the room and there was no bracelet. We asked to see the room but it was not in the box. Either one of two things happened:
1. One of their employees stole it, as they would’ve found it while cleaning the room between clients. They «cleaned» the room so fast that this leads me to question how sanitary this place is if we just left and another couple was already getting undressed in there.
2. The customer (s) who had their appointment after us stole it; but I still hold the company responsible for the theft as they should’ve checked the room thoroughly while cleaning. Obviously they do not clean out the cloth liner in the clothes basket, which again, leads me to question how sanitary this place is.
Granted, we are all responsible for preventing theft of our own items. But, if I were the establishment, I would have a set policy in place to make sure my salon is not tainted by such experiences. And because they really didn’t act concerned and didn’t take the time to call us back, and because I am the angry customer, I get to write them a negative review of my negative experience with them. I have been to soooo many places where items were returned in an honorable manner. This place did not do so and so now they get this review.

Recently had a hour massage. Felt like the therapist was trying to jam his elbows into my shoulder blade. I asked him to go easy but he didnt seem to understand me. Im still sore a few days later and my backs covered in bruises

I booked a 90 min couples massage this past weekend; this was our first visit to the Spa, and we had a great experience! We were set up with Stephanie and Sassa (sp?) — both were phenomenal. Not the typical experience of arriving 15 minutes early to fill out a questionnaire — just right to business. As other reviews state — they are not afraid to jump on the table and really work those knots out! We will definitely be back!

Honestly. This place is amazing! I’m not from the SD area and was here for a conference. Looked around using Unilocal for massage places around my hotel and Karma has the best ratings! I see why! All staff were very friendly, professional, accommodating, and wonderful!
I had the Vice President package and I’m so happy! It was perfect! Julie was my masseuse and she was so sweet and knew where I needed the most relief! The package came with a vinchy shower, I wasn’t comfortable with that, so I called ahead if time to see if I could opt out! They did! So I had an extra 15 min on my massage and was got towel washed instead!
I wish I lived closer because the price was right and I truly was pampered.
Only one little tip for Karma is the ladies talk loudly in their break room it can be a little distracting to relax in the quiet but other than that I’m so happy with my services!!!

I love the facials that Lien gives. She really knows her stuff and I always feel so relaxed. She has great fluidity to her movements. Her personality is what really shines too. She is such a sweet lady. I definitely recommend her!

I’ve had massages at spas all over the country. Absurdly expensive ones at fancy resorts and generic ones at places at Massage E.
This is hands down my favorite massage spa! The prices are reasonable and they have nice package deals. Every masseuse I’ve had has been excellent.
To be clear, this isn’t for the timid. They don’t hesitate to climb up on the table and put their knees into the back of your thighs or walk on your back. You’ll get stretched and bent like a pretzel and be thrilled they did.
I’m sure they could be more gentle if you ask but why would you?!

Been coming here on and off. I usually get the facial by Lynn.
I have nothing but great things to say about her and her facials.
Since I have Rosacea, I have to take extra care of my skin and use sensitive products.
The mask she uses stings quite a bit, but I’m able to tolerate it.
As for Lynn, she’s an older, sweet woman. She usually gives me samples after each session.
She is FANTASTIC! And I highly recommend seeing her. Just let her know your skin concerns when seeing her.
My favorite things:
I enjoy the scalp, mini shoulder massage, and arm and leg stretches included in the facials.
BTW the back massages (Vice President) and packages are worth it.

I’ve been getting the REFLEXOLOGY MASSAGE here for quite awhile. The «body massage» portion isn’t as extensive as you’d like, but that’s because this massage is mostly geared toward massaging your feet. However, I do like when they massage my face, neck/​shoulders and back — it’s just a relaxing massage rub down.
I’ve had a few therapists, I’m not really picky, so I’m not sure who I’ve had exactly, but each one has been pretty decent. Some better than others, but all in all everyone is good.
The place is clean, reception and receptionists have always been nice. The private rooms, and public rooms are nice and clean. And the public room is pretty quiet, except for the occasional snorer :)
They’re pretty good at getting you in the day of as well. I’ve called a few hours in advance and they were able to take care of me.

Had a great experience here with Tony. I walked here, so I didn’t experience the problem with parking. It is Hillcrest so we can’t punish the business for their location. Walked in and was met by a friendly receptionist. Tony came and got me right away. The pressure was good and he made sure to ask how I was doing. I felt very comfortable. For the price that you pay this place is a great deal. They are also very convenient as their hours are accessible and they have a lot of masseuses.

it was nice everybody here was nice my massage person was Linda. I was running late but that god that I was able to get in and not having to wait only because Linda did not have and appt. after me. so with that said all was good the room I found it cozy and comfortable. the message well was okay, why because im really sensitive and I cant have any real hard pressure on my body because I will leave really soar. I had to reminder her maybe 3 times to go a little light is not her fault she probably gets a lot of client that likes hard message, I just don’t. I gave it a 4 because she tried and I didn’t fall asleep like I usually do, another thing that really upset me was I didn’t get a foot massage I have flat feet my feet has to be messaged all the time, she did all of my body and face and not my feet that’s when she ended the session I was so upset but carried on with my day.
FYI…Parking… get there early there are not parking any where, I think there is one across the street but not sure how much, I went to another parking spot that was at the CVS store which I had to pay 7.00 for one hour. because I was already running late I just paid this parking spot should be your last option. it is a public parking spot but $ 7 for one hour that is crazy. Unless you get lucky with their parking spot which they do have one, good luck on that.
my rating I base it on the services, and once I get in. but more on the person and service so is not the reason why I gave the rating a 4 because of parking spot I care less about that but it was good information to give to those that goes to this message place to give yourself some time to find parking. oh yes. my appt. was only 11am on a Friday.

After a day in Disney and a week of hard workouts it was time for a massage. I am impatient and wanted to see someone today. My back hurts now. I don’t want to wait till next week.
I don’t know the name of my person. It was a guy. The price was not bad. They had a Unilocal check in offer! I love those! I paid $ 60 for 90 minutes.
Well you get what you paid for. I think if you are in a budget it might be worth coming. But I didn’t enjoy my massage. I didn’t feel myself floating away like I have with other massages. I think the strokes could have been better. They were not relaxing. He kept going near my spine. Also not relaxing. Probably the weirdest part was at the end he was massaging my thighs. It wasn’t a good pressure and didn’t feel good.
I’ve had deep tissue massages where it might hurt a bit but after you feel great. Yeah not the case here.

I only come here for the reflexology massages. It’s always best to schedule an appointment, since it’s always busy. There’s a small private parking lot to the right of the building. As far as price options go, having a membership can give you one of the best pricing around town.
Here’s a breakdown of what my typical reflexology appointments are like:
Stage 1: At the start of the massage, my feet are soaked in warm-​hot water. I’m laying on my back and the masseuse will start massaging my head, neck and shoulders.
Stage 2: She/​he will remove my feet from the water, pat it dry and start working on everything below the knees. I’m usually asleep and possibly snoring at this point. My apologies.
Stage 3: At this point, I’m flipped over on my stomach. Then I get the deepest deep tissue massage on my shoulders, back and butt. Goodbye, relaxation. Goodbye.
I“m awake. Alert. The muscles are taking a beating. Sometimes a serious beating, with lots of grunting, at least on my part. And, yes, I’ve asked a few times to ease up. I usually like my massages hard, but maybe I should have ordered a medium. DOH!
I guess a great massage experience really comes down to which masseuse you end up getting. I’ve had my share of hit and misses here. Though, I do think misses are winning.
My first masseuse smelled like cigarette smoke. So, not sexy. My second masseuse was just right. My 3^rd masseuse was fine, until stage 3 of the massage. As I was laying facing down, he was standing at the head of the table, leaning over me, massaging my ass. In that moment, I had 2 thoughts:
1) OMG! Is his crotch over the back of my head?
2) If I jerk my head up, how hard will I nail him there?
Yeaaah…the crotch over the back of the head thing was a tad bit awkward. Just a tad bit.

With the Unilocal check-​in deal, a one hour massage of your choice is only $ 39 and if you do a couples massage it is only $ 75! This is the best deal in town, I guarantee you! My masseuse was Anna and she was quite amazing. I told her to focus on my upper body and she did. I highly recommend you ask for her if you want a female masseuse. The girl at the desk was super sweet and answered all of my questions. The restrooms were clean and beautiful and the overall décor and ambiance was equally as aesthetically pleasing.
There was parking right next to the building but I can see that it could get full if the spa is busy. I went on a Sunday morning at around 10:30am and I had no problem finding a spot.
I like this place better than Happy Head and I noticed a sign on the wall saying that if you pay in cash there is a discount.
I highly, highly recommend this place if you want a quick massage!
