Had my first Acai Bowl at Jungle Java and it was so good! The Acai was perfectly sweetened and the right texture. The toppings with banana, strawberry and blueberry was colorful along with the granola was perfected constructed! It’s a huge bowl but I ate it all up!

I love this place first and foremost because of the guy that works there. What a great vibe and attitude. I love all their drinks because they’re so original. I didn’t even know what a London Fog was until I started going to Jungle Java, and I was born in London! ! They are always so liberal, and generous with their punch cards too. Anytime I go in I get double stamped. I love the ambiance so relaxing and quiet. Seriously NO idea how or why this place gets bad reviews. It’s not expensive at all, if anything it’s cheap because of all the free coffees you get from your punch card. Exceptional customer service, once their ATM was broken and they fronted me money to get me and my 7 year old niece a hot chocolate, and gave me an IOU. It’s a kiosk dude of course there’s no bathroom. Don’t let the bad reviews dissway you. They gave TONS of original mochas, and the mac daddy oatmeal is ridiculous good!

This spot is probably one of the most unique coffee shops in San Diego. The coffe and snacks are great, but the real reason to go is to enjoy the beatiful open air area in the back, it feels like hanging out in a really chill backyard, full of beatiful plants and little birds. Free wifi is available, so it’s a great place to relax and maybe do some studying or a bit of work. Only downsides are that it’s cash only(they have an ATM) and there’s no restrooms.

I’ve had better coffee at a gas station for a fraction of the price! The location is nice and the jungle theme is awesome but that’s about it! The barista wasn’t excited to be at work from what it looked like!

Environment is awesome. It feels like you’re on vacation or on an island somewhere. Coffee was pretty good but it just didn’t pop like I had hoped. I had the Café Mayan, which suggests a cinnamon and cayenne addition to spice things up, but just doesn’t have much flavor. It was an iced coffee with a bunch of stuff in the bottom. Every time I try coffee with cinnamon I’m disappointed. This was no different. Cool place. I’ll be back to try something else for sure.

While my husband and I vacationed in ocean beach I was so happy to find this place! I prefer small time local coffee shops over Starbucks or dunkin donuts wherever I go. This charming little place is such a gem hidden between bars and tourist traps. While I was there I got the pumpkin spice single shot latte and it was AMAZING! It’s priced at $ 4 which is a little higher than I would normally spend on a coffee but it was soooooo worth it! There was only one guy working there every time I went but the place was never backed up or too busy and he was super nice! There’s no rest room here and they only accept cash, just a heads up! They’re dog friendly(most places here are anyway) and since it’s technically not really enclosed they allow cigarette smoking(a plus for me since I enjoy a smoke with my coffee). I definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in or near ocean beach!

What an adorable little coffee spot! We eyed up this place all week, but didn’t stop in until our last day. I wish we would have sooner! The layout of this place is just beautiful and so unique. It’s an open, outdoor coffee shop. There are tons of beautiful garden décor and plants everywhere, as well as plenty of books and games. They also sell local art– dream catchers, homemade dog treats, little greenery statuesque items for your desk, etc. We purchased a dream catcher that was made out of recycled t-shirts and a little mushroom for my boyfriend’s desk at work. The prices were reasonable and I was more than happy to support the local artists. Although we didn’t try any coffee during our visit, we really enjoyed our time checking out how unique and beautiful this coffee shop is. I would love to return someday.

Best vanilla latte iced I’ve ever had. This was better than Starbucks. Also they have custom smoothies too!

I have no idea why it took me so long to write a review for one of my favorite coffee shops in Ocean Beach. I spent so many hours parked here with my computer it seems unfair to give it less than a raging good review. I came here because the atmosphere is so chill and laid back, it’s like walking into a garden. Perfect if you want to come and read a book, catch up with friends, do work, do some stalking on facebook… The tables are huge and you can certainly take one for yourself, or share with some kind stranger if the place is a little full. In my experience it never got to this point. This place is dog friendly! so you can expect to see a lot of adorable dogs/puppies around. Now, as far as the menu goes, I stuck with my usual«large black coffee» order(Shocking, I know… But hey, I was never disappointed!) They do have tons of other drink options and even a small food menu like acai bowls, fruits, bagels, muffins, etc.

Coffee. No bathroom. Shit is about to get real. Dance. Dance. Shuffle. Dance. Like a marathon Without water. A car sans gas. Disaster awaits. Lucky, no issue For me, but I foresee one. OFCOURSE in O.B.

One of those places I frequent that I’ve always forgot to write a review for! Just a great little oasis in OB to sip a cuppa and watch the freaks go by(me being one of them!). Either out front or in their tropical patio, you can’t beat it. Truly beats patronizing the all mighty corporate Starbucks up the street. Listen closely… no bathrooms(go to Sunshine Co across the street, or any bar for that matter) and CASHONLY.

I felt like I was in an exotic jungle while eating the acai bowl and I met a beautiful Argentinian. Guada fills it with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. Great setting, and awesome vibe overall.

This place is truly a hidden gem in Ocean Beach! I walked past this café a bunch of times, not realizing the beauty that is hidden within! This place has the cutest outdoor patio seating. The patio is decorated with lush, tropical plants and fountains that just makes you feel like you are in a mini oasis. The barista was extremely friendly and personable. This place is also a pretty good place to study. They offer WiFi and there are plenty of outlets around. Tip: This place is CASH only and it also does not have a restroom. With that in mind, just enjoy the«jungle» for its laid-back environment and relax with a nice cup of Joe!

The acai bowls here are to die for! Outdoor seating makes any day that much more perfect! The patio is filled with lush beautiful plants with a fountain in the background. They also offer a frequent guest punchcard which is always such a cool gesture from a proprietor. The only down point & reason for my 4 star rating is that it’s a cash only establishment. The good-news/bad news is there’s an ATM on site but then you have to pay that ATM fee making it bad. So plan ahead for the perfect experience!

Cutest outdoor covered patio on this busy street! No matter how bustling the street is with people, Jungle Java’s back patio is pretty quiet. Ok, I take it back. They play music loud but it doesn’t stop you from having a conversation or is distracting you from from reading a book. I was there for a weekend and the people that helped me the few times I was there were super friendly. Coffee was great(I had an iced brew) and the acai bowls were filling and delicious. Definitely coming here for my caffiene fix when I am in town.

I stopped in to Jungle Java for a quick bite to eat with my friend and my two dogs. While I appreciated that the outdoor coffee shop was dog friendly, I wasn’t quite as impressed with my acai bowl. The amount of granola was overwhelming and I ran out of acai way before I finished the granola, and dry granola is no fun. If I return, I’ll have to remember to ask them to go light on the granola. The café is cute and tropical-looking with all the plants and I wouldn’t be opposed to returning for a smoothie or drink in the future.
