Jimbo’s Naturally

Five stars easily. The store is very easy to find as they have a big green Jimbo’s Naturally sign out front on top of the building. The only downside to about his place is that the parking lot gets so crowded during noon and also around four to 5 o’clock. The first thing you notice when you walk into the building is all of the delicious aroma. My favorite section would have to be the deli in the smoothie bar. They’ve got a tremendous variety of delicious snacks and entrées as well as chilled beverages. My only regret is that I haven’t tried them all yet.
In my opinion the most impressive thing about Jimbos is the quality of their staff. Everyone seems very knowledgeable, friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand.

While i like Jimbo’s I have to agree with other Unilocalers that this is not the best location.
Service was fine and they did have a descent selection, it just did not seem as fresh and the store a bit dingy.
Prices are pretty high and while we did get a few things, I would not go out of my way to come back to this location.

I used to shop in Jimbo’s routinely but for various reasons haven’t lately. Found myself nearby in need of some items and stopped in. Wow — what a surprise. I don’t know if this location has raised their prices since the mall upscaled, but many of these prices are remarkably high. First, the lettuces were so tiny (at the same price) it was almost funny. Tiny bunches of kale, chard, too. I used to buy the Organic coffee in bulk but saw that most bins were empty and was told the store was only going to carry the (very good local Moto brand) at 17.99 a lb. That’s $ 8 more than the Organic. Actually, many items are at least a $ 1 or more higher than other stores. I know you don’t have the buying power of Sprouts or W Foods, but with that competition, you’re not offering much of an incentive to shop there.
Maybe these upscale prices don’t matter to many of the local residents nearby, but they do to me.
Very disappointed.

I could spend a full day in Jimbo’s! I don’t shop there regularly but love stopping in once in a while for a healthy snack. They have a great selection of Kombucha and local pressed juices and a variety of all natural energy bars. It’s also convenient that they carry some wellness items I have trouble finding in other grocery stores such as Amazing Grass and Wellness Formula products.
The prepared food section and juice bar is a good option when looking for a quick but healthy meal. I buy the Teriyaki Salmon and the brussels sprouts in lemon vinaigrette which are delicious! Sometimes samples of new products are also offered in the back of the store which I always enjoy!

I can always count on Jimbos for fresh organic produce, staples and meat. Each Jimbos in San Diego county is a bit different, reflecting on the area it serves. My favorite stores are Del Mar, Encinitas and 4s ranch. I haven’t been to the new store in the Gas Lamp, but hear it is awesome. I’ve been shopping at Jimbos since 1998, and am a loyal customer. I have often thought of moving from Cali, but seriously Jimbos is what keeps me anchored here. I know there are other stores which claim to have natural products, but natural and organic are different. Jimbos truly understands the difference and carries almost all GMO free food. Its the only store I trust to have real food, no preservatives and no fillers. The prices are fair and you get what you pay for.

From the moment you walk in you’re shoehorned into this tight retail space.
I like this Jimbo’s because of its close proximity to my work. I can get a fresh sandwich or salad without much of a wait. If I need a bar or a specialty drink they have a decent selection of those too.
The Short List…
— It’s nice that Del Mar Highlands Town Center allowed two groceries to complete in this mall. Though, Ralph’s is fundamentally different than a «Health Market».
— Prices are equivalent to While Foods.
— People that shop here seem like average Joes. Not the granolas that shop at Whole Foods.
— Parking at this mall stinks. But you have a good chance of finding a space in the lot south of Jimbo’s.
I’m a fan of the locations in Escondido and 4S Ranch, but this one is lacking. It’s like a mini-​mart compared to the others.

Jimbo’s are committed to something larger than just their bottom line. I love shopping here, because I feel like I’m around people who care about me. The shelves display row upon row of nothing but the highest quality goods, made by people who actually care about how their products are going to affect the lives of the consumers they sell to. It’s an oasis from Big Agra and Madison Ave. and every time I’m here, I find myself basking in all the good vibes. Thanks Jimbo’s for raising the bar, and setting such a powerful example. You’re integrity is a compass for us all.

My work is close by Jimbos and this is the closest healthy place near me. Overall good stuff here and the only reason they got 1 star from me is because of this very rude older lady who works at deli/​smoothie. She messed up my order several times and they end up reimbursing me with a voucher, I dnt need your stupid voucher just make my sandwich right the 1^st time without missing any avocados or other stuff that I specifically told you I want in it.

Below review is for 4S ranch Jimbo’s not Del Mar… but I can’t delete it.
I go to Jimbo’s at least once a week… not even exaggerating.
My main issue with Jimbo’s is their deli and smoothie area. I’ve been multiple times and each experience is unfriendly, particularly where they make sandwiches and smoothies. There is a woman who is very rude and she has been there most times I go. She won’t ask me what I’d like or anything she just stares and if I don’t say anything she walks away and directs someone else help me. Here is the best story about her:
Came in to fork over $ 7.50 or so for a turkey sandwich. No special requests but this same woman said, «We’re out of avocado…» I thought, hmm… aren’t there avocados just over there in the produce area??? And also, don’t offer to replace it with anything. Very rude and just plain laziness. Then after I said it’s fine, she waved some younger man over to actually make my sandwich then went about her business. In a health food market especially, avocados should be accessible…
The men I’ve had help me in the deli/​fish area are always helpful but most times when I go to visit the smoothie area and baked goods area, it is a bad experience and there usually is no one to help so I stand there waiting a while.
I’ve had strawberries with bugs in them twice now. Gross. I get that the products are organic but I don’t need extra protein in my strawberries, thanks.
Also the smoothie prices are absolutely ridiculous. Way too expensive and for the sandwiches as well. Everything is overpriced at Jimbo’s and I don’t see why. I am an avid health food store shopper and don’t see any real quality difference between what they have at Jimbo’s and Baron’s or Sprouts. Whole Foods is a no-​go for me because their prices are even higher. Why?! Why punish the healthy people???
I prefer Baron’s for the salad bar and soups. Jimbo’s has stocked produce but nothing else makes it stand out. Still shop here for convenience since I workout in 4S and it is nearby.
Why are there no protein drinks of ANY kind? No post workout drinks either.

I love Jimbo’s, the products that they sell are of a good quality with loads of healthy food options. Bulk bins let me buy just enough product to use and not so much that half of it gets wasted or spoiled, and then there is an added bonus of reduced packaging. Higher quality food tastes better and eating healthy makes a profound impact on my life.
I am super picky. my nickname used to be picky Vicki, and I earned that. I can pick to my hearts content at Jimbos! The pre-​made foods inspire new recipe creations to try at home — they cost a lot, and rarely make their way into cart.
When I used to take night classes I loved stopping in for grab and go is sushi, or to build a salad from the massive salad bar.
In addition to food, the market has cleaning supplies, supplements and of course wine!
The North City West location (called Carmel Valley by some people) is close to Del Mar and a high rent neighborhood. Expect to drop some cash. The clientele ranges from yuppies to hippies and hipsters, and I feel right at home in this fine store.

Stopped in to grab a bite for a late lunch at their deli counter. Lots of hot food options that are healthy for you. I grabbed a combo with their cauliflower enchilada, broccoli and cheese casserole and one other thing that had a mexican flair to it. All vegitarian. Thought I’d clean the ‘ol system before the weekend. The three items were pretty good together. They put togther some nice flavors. Who would’ve thunk that cauliflower enchiladas were pretty decent! :-)
They have a sit down area near the front of the store as well as some tables and chairs out front along the parking lot. Convenient to grab a bite if your in the area.
The choices in the store itself aren’t your every day items at Albertson’s or Ralph’s. They all are on the healthy side and sort of specialty items. They do carry some items you’d find on the shelves of the other neighborhood store like evian water. (that may be it though).

Have been to the Jimbo’s in Carlsbad and they have much more hot food selection. I will say the steak was tender and was seasoned nicely. The green beans however were cold and soggy. The staff wasn’t very friendly, I asked what came with the hot meal and he said vegetables in the front row, I asked how many and he never responded. Not sure I will be back for hot food.

I love their sandwiches! Delicious and healthy. the juice bar is great too. And unlike whole foods there are a lot of vegan desserts at jimbos! Love love love it all! Nice atmosphere and amazing employees. I love the vegan miso soup they have when it’s being served! Seriously my favorite…

It’s not often I shop here for every day items, because their prices are so high. However I often eat treats from their bakery or salads from their salad bar.
Gluten-​free: Hands-​down Jimbos has the best muffin made with out gluten I’ve ever tasted, it is their pumpkin zucchini muffin. It’s important to know all of their baked goods are kept together therefore they cannot claim they are gluten-​free so they advertise them as «made without gluten.» This means there can be some cross-​contamination and it might effect those who are very sensitive to gluten. I haven’t had any problems with it, the muffins are delicious and this location makes them the best. I’ve tried a couple other Jimbo’s and they aren’t as good.
They have a great selection of muffins, scones, cookies, cakes, and desserts! They also have a great selection of premade salads if you’re in a hurry and want a quick and healthy lunch. I only have them four stars, because their prices are so high.

this place is like a kid between trader joes and whole foods. selection isn’t the best but the pricing is much more affordable than whole foods for the same item. If i’m ever at the plaza i would definitely stop by to pick up something

I’m actually not a huge fan of Jimbo’s but I’m giving them 4 stars because although I might not be a fan, I know they are good. Everything here is either natural or organic including soap and shampoo. I will say they keep their fruits and vegetables very fresh.
If you’re hungry, be careful coming here because you’ll end up buying way more than you need. Back in the meat department they have food they have prepared for the day and you can order it up to take home. They have several main dishes and they come with one or two sides. On my last visit I had the tuna casserole and it was incredibly good!
They have a decent selection of wines and local brewed beers. A pretty amazing selection of cheeses and their meats and seafood are incredibly fresh. But you aren’t going to find many (if any) of your traditional brands here. Lastly, they and incredibly environmentally friendly when it comes to their packaging and bagging of your groceries.
The reason I’m not a big fan is simply the price. Trader Joe’s has the same foods and much of it their own brand. They also have organic too but not at these prices. And some of the labeling… «organic meat». Really?!? So tell me where does this ‘organic’ meat come from? There is so much labeling these days of ‘free range’, ‘organic’, etc… and I’m just having a hard time buying it especially when I read how deceptive these terms actually can be. But it’s great at raising prices and I think Jimbo’s is guilty of this. Example: I purchased mango slices. It was enough from one mango yet it was $ 10. Really?!? $ 10!!! And right on the packaging it stated it was from Mexico. I have nothing against food from other countries, but are you trying to tell me they don’t use any pesticides? For $ 8 I can get 9 excellent quality mango’s from Costco and I don’t mind cutting them myself.
I think Jimbo’s is guilty of deceptive labeling and exorbitant pricing. Yes, I do come here but generally when I just want something quick and then later I realize how much I just spent and vow not to go back. Fortunately, Trader Joe’s opened up rather close recently.

I love Jimbo’s because it seems to be a good mix between Whole Foods and Sprouts. This store was nice and there was a huge selection in the deli area. I really like the service here because the staff was attentive and made sure I could find what I was looking for.
I agree with Arlene P.- the layout is a bit weird because everything did feel a little cramped for me when I was walking through.
I highly recommend you give Jimbo’s a try if you’re looking for health-​conscious food and home goods.
This one is tucked in the same plaza as Urban Plates and Carnitas Snack Shack so there is plenty of parking!

OH, Jimbo’s, OH Jimbo’s. how I love thee! I love how Jimbo’s is a mix of Sprouts and Whole Foods. with plenty of healthy options all around.
PRODUCTS I BUY: I frequently come here for their freshly made smoothies as I love: The Tsunami (Organic banana, organic strawberries, organic mango, organic dates, organic oat bran, bee pollen, organic flax meal, vitamin C, protein powder, and organic apple juice), The Fat Burner (Organic mango, organic banana, organic rice milk, protein powder, SafSlim, and fat burner supplement), and Ginger Squeeze (Organic apple juice, organic lemon, and organic ginger). The drinks are on the pricier side, but worth the splurge for all it’s goodness.
Jimbo’s also has an abundant selection of vitamins to meet all of your needs. I love how they have sublingual supplements which allow for better absorption (this cannot be found at other stores like CVS etc.)
In addition Jimbo’s has a great selection of bottled beverages for juices and smoothies and teas. Some of my favorite brands include: Forager, GT’s Kombucha, and my latest favorite Suja Essentials. which lately these have been at regular grocery stories as well, but there is better variety at Jimbo’s.
SERVICE: The workers are all great from the juice bar/​deli in the back, to the vitamin clerks in the middle, and last, but not least all of the cashiers at the front… all Jimbo’s staff have been really nice and helpful.
LOCATION: The parking can be tricky as this is in the busy Del Mar Highlands Shopping in Carmel Valley off El Camino Real.

I personally thing the produce and meat section of this supermarket is outrageously over priced. The exterior of the market has been revamped thanks to the remodel of the entire strip mall. But the interior still remains a bit dark and out dated in my opinion.
I knew they had a juice bar but never gave it a second thought as I just thought it’d be a rip off. I mean, Jamba sells wheat grass too and surely Jamba would be cheaper than here. And Whole Foods has a brand new juice bar and that’s just another exit down the 5fwy. So I was really surprised when I stopped by today and discovered that their juice prices aren’t terrible.
Julio was the juice bar dude that helped me. I got the Emerald Express. I asked if I could substitute the apple juice for something else and he said he would have to charge me. BUT, if I deleted the apple juice the would just give me more celery juice. Perfect — that totally works for me. It’s 6.95 for the reg size and $ 7.95 for the larger.
I watched him put all the fresh ingredients in the juicer and was incredibly happy w/​the final product.
I’ve bought sandwiches and soups from here before and they weren’t bad. I suppose the prices are on the same line as Whole Foods and hey, this isn’t the cheapest zip code in town is it.
So I’d suggest trying out the juice bar if you’re in the area.

This Jimbo’s is much smaller than my regular Jimbos in Carlsbad but all the same goodies, which I love.
Started coming here during my lunch hour to pick up my juice/​lunch since my clients office is nearby. I haven’t done any grocery shopping here but have only used the deli and juice bar. I find they are pretty efficient in getting drinks out which has been really helpful. So far, I’ve ordered:
Organic Emerald Bliss — Large: 7.95
Includes celery, apple, spinach, kale, parsley and ginger. This is a recent item added on the very short list of juices I order but its closest to what I make for myself at home in my Vitamix. Sometimes the drink isn’t really cold making it tough to drink but the flavors are still yummy. I might have to ask them to put ice in it tomorrow :)

All Organic Flu Fighter — large: 7.95
Includes carrot, celery, cucumber, spinach, parsley, beet, tomato, lemon, ginger, onion, garlic, and jalapeño peppers — A nice kick!!! Don’t be fooled into thinking you can only get this when fighting off a cold or flu. This is one of my faves regardless!
Hopefully I’ll be able to do a little more shopping here in the future but for now, this has been a great lunch spot for me to hit up when in the area for work.
P. S. The cheese section is always so tempting …
