Jenny Craig Pavilion

USD Campus is nice and kept clean. Today was a Kung fu tournament for the kids and we ran a little late. Parking is atrocious if you come late and plan on walking half a mile to the pavilion. Other than parking, I have nothing bad to say. The pavilion has many bathroom which makes it very convenient. The snack area is priced as your normal arenas with special events. I got chicken tenders with a side of fries and a large soft drink for $ 13. 2 out 5 for the food.

Recently attended for the men’s basketball game, Toreros hosting the Gonzaga Bulldogs. I must say, in the middle of a beautiful campus, this arena is as clean as they come. Clean bathrooms, concession stands and seats. Not to mention there simply is not a bad seat in the house. Unobstructed sightlines from anywhere, even the concourses. Lots of empty seats as others have mentioned, but hey, it didn’t bother me.

The JCP is as gorgeous as the rest of the school. The walk up to it is a bit steep so if you need assistance be sure to call the university public safety and they will arrange a transport for you to get up to the entrance from the parking garage. Be careful where you park because you will definitely get a ticket (pretty much every time!)

Been to this arena a few times now for some basketball games and I must say it’s pretty nice. Small in comparison to my alma mater SDSU (Whooo hooo!!), but nice nonetheless. Like another reviewer said, there’s waay too many empty seats. I don’t know if it’s not advertised well, students just aren’t interested, or what’s going on, but it’s very disappointing to see the turn out at these games, especially when they have a good record. I’m losing my voice here people! Where you at?!
Women’s restroom has many stalls. Turning on the water is tricky of you’re a newbie. The faucets appear to be automatic but there’s a chrome button (that doesn’t look like a button) that you press down to get the ball rollin. There’s only 1 paper towel dispenser at the very end of the restrooms. It’s kind of weird, but I’m thinking it’s a conservation thing and a way to encourage everyone to utilize the many hand dryers. I also like that they have recycle bins all around the arena. Oh, and note to selfie takers — this is not your selfie type of bathroom haha
Parking is tight in the garage down the hill, but the green and red lights (and blue for handicap) above the spots is pretty cool and helps you find an open spot quickly.

Nice venue by USD’s conference standards. Enjoyed watching a game there but there was a sparse, unenthusiastic crowd and not much of student section in attendance. Also, the entrance/​exits are located on one end of the building so you’ve got to walk all the way around the top perimeter if you’re seated at the opposite baseline of the court.

This is probably the finest, nicest, cleanest high school basketball gym I’ve ever had the pleasure to visit!
The restrooms are cleaner than most In-​N-​Out Burger restrooms I’ve had the pleasure to pee in!
Hands down!

Only 20 people showed up for the game?
Why is everyone so quiet and subdued?
Felt like I was attending mass.

I went to the Holiday Hootenanny at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. The arena itself was pretty nice with good sound quality. My only complaint would be that I didn’t feel that I had nearly enough leg room. I am only 5’7″ and couldn’t even cross my legs without having my knee on top of the person in front of me. Oh well. But what really stood out was the ease of parking and entering the venue. Everyone was really organized and it was obvious. This is RARELY my experience with shows at large arenas. (I know this place isn’t enormous… but it is still impressive.)

Good place to watch a game. And a team that gives an honest effort every night. Great crowd too.

FANTASTIC facility. IMMACULATE! I may be biased as a USD grad, but this thing, though seating only 5,000 people, is amazingly pretty, clean, and nary a bad seat in the place. When it’s packed, it’s LOUD. GO TOREROS!

I love the Jenny Craig Pavilion. It is a shining example of a great mid-​major school arena. From the outside, it’s pleasing to the aesthetically minded for following the same architecture as all the other buildings on campus. I give the university credit for not building a typical arena with standard arena architecture. It probably would have been a campus eyesore. There is a large concourse between the arena and the football stadium that is sometimes utilized for spirit-​related fun during more important games.
Inside, the lobby includes restrooms, snack bars and ample space to mingle. You really can’t pick a bad seat in the arena. They all have unobstructed sight lines to the action on the floor. Where appropriate, seats are angled towards the floor so that you don’t have to watch an entire game with your neck turned. The USD men’s basketball team is on an upswing, so a good product is just an added bonus to the excellent arena. When there is a good-​sized crowd on hand, Jenny Craig Pavilion is an exciting place to watch college basketball.
If you want to sound in the know, you’ll call it the Slim Gym.
