Single handedly the best salon I have been to in San Diego, being born & raised here I have had the trouble of searching for my go to spot! Well, this place takes the cake by a landslide. My favorites have to be Kathy & Lily although I have been worked on by many others and I can honestly say they all really excel! Everyone there can assure you’ll walk out with satisfaction, I get my gel manicures done every 2 weeks and even when I can’t make it, my nails perfectly last me 3 full weeks without any chipping or cracking. I really can’t express how grateful I am for these ladies! Always exceptional work and wonderful service from each and every one of them. I live in north park and make the trip that is well worth it out to PB for my everyyyyy time beautiful nails! I promise you won’t be disappointed my gals (:

Had a great experience here with Kathy. Got my nails done here for graduation and they turned out perfect. This place is very clean and I highly recommend it. I walked in didn’t have an appointment and they took care of me very quickly! :)

DO NOT GO TO HERE. I am honestly SHOCKED that this place has good reviews, this has to be one of the worst manicures I’ve had in San Diego.
I want to start out by saying I really wanted to like this place (it’s walking distance from where I live/​would be super convenient). I called this morning to see if they have availability for 2:15 and ask how much a gel manicure costs. She said yes and $ 30, so I booked it. I arrive at 2:10 to pick out my color and notice a customer finishing up who looked very unhappy. By 2:25, the same customer (clearly annoyed) said «it’s fine, it’s fine, I really need to leave I’m late» and then paid/​left. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt (even though they were running almost 20 mins behind schedule) I sit down with my color. The manicurists (don’t know his name unfortunately) sits down across from me and REEKS of cigarette smoke! Then as the manicure goes on, I feel an incredible sharp pain and look down to see my finger bleeding! He started nervous laughing and said «oh sorry!» and continued on trimming my cuticles… He didn’t stop the manicure until he literally had to dab my blood because it was getting all over my nail. Then he proceeds to put a cleaning agent on my nail before the paint that stung soooo badly when it touched the cut. He continued dipping the brush into the small bowl and applying to my nail until he finished and PUT THE REMAINING LIQUID BACK IN THE ORIGINAL CONTAINER. He literally wiped my bleeding finger with a brush, dipped it back in his mini bowl, continued with my other nails, and put the liquid back — so not sanitary! At the end of the manicure, there was pink nail polish on the outside of my fingers/​nails. I told the lady at the front desk I was very unsatisfied and showed her my nails and cut. She dismissed me saying there was only the top coat on my finger. Firstly, I don’t want ANY gel polish anywhere besides my actual nail and then proceeded to show her the pink. She grabbed cuticle cutters/​Neosporin and tried clipping away the polish on my finger which also started to hurt. I told her no thank you and handed her my credit card. She said «thank you $ 32.» Are you serious?! Not only did she not offer me a discount, but charged me more than what she originally told me. I said that I wouldn’t need a receipt or card because I am not coming back. For the first time, she looked upset and offered me 20% off my next manicure (which I will not be using).

I’ve been here multiple times and have had a good experience which is why I decided to give this place two stars and not one, but my experience yesterday wasn’t great and worth sharing. First, a manicure and polish change on my toes took an hour and a half! Not gel, regular polish! Then when the time comes to finally paint my nails, the manicurist asks that I go ahead and pay so I don’t get my nails messed up; makes sense. I pay and tip her (a good tip) but shortly after putting the second coat on she ditches me to go do someone else’s nails and leaves their front desk girl to clean my nails up and do the top coat. I could tell that she wasn’t comfortable cleaning up my nails and everyone else that worked there wasn’t sure about it either. My nails don’t look horrible, but they don’t look good either. I got red polish so when cleaning up the nails the polish smeared and was all over my fingers. I did ask her to go back and redo a couple areas which she did. I just thought it was a little slimy to ask me to pay in advance and then have someone else finish the job, especially when that person didn’t have the experience to do it. I won’t be returning.

Best nail salon in PB. It was my first time trying the shellac and I absolutely love it. They even offered me a 10 day guarantee, so when I came back a few days later to fix one of my nails they did it at no charge and without any hassle. I highly recommend this salon! The price is great and the the people who work there are really nice :)

I’ve gone here twice now and have had a great experience both times. The staff are all very friendly and the manicures are well done. A tiny bit on the higher side: $ 32 for a gel set & 3 $ per nail for art work, but this place is close to my house so it’s worth the extra few bucks. My last set held together for a full two weeks (which is the real test for me because I wash my hands constantly) and I could have waited longer if I wanted to.

THANK GOD! I have lived in PB for 5 months now and have had bad nail experience after bad nail experience, and FINALLY Ivy’s Nails & Spa to the rescue!
My sister and I went in and my nails were terrible and I was in desperate need of a fill. My nails look amazing now and I will tell you the things you will find here that you won’t find at other nail salons in PB— Professionalism, a low cost, cleanliness and organization. They charge 20 $ for a fill, and I’m not saying you can’t find this price anywhere else in PB, but if you do, I can promise you that the place will be straight up NASTY (Royalty Nails).
So no need to worry anymore, this is a wonderful PB nail shop, look no further!

I love this place! Lily is so sweet and she’s great at doing gel nails. I have horrible thin, short nails, and Lily can still manage to make them look good. She’s a perfectionist. And I can’t believe how long they last without a single chip. I highly recommend them.

The quality of my manicure was great, which is why gave three stars, but two of my acrylic with gel nails broke within the first week and I was overcharged by $ 8. They made up for it the first time I came in for a broken nail.
Come with enough time to spare. I came on my lunch break and was late going back into work.
Don’t attempt to park in the parking lot. The person working at the Yoga place next door will rudly yell at you to move your car. This happened to me last time I was there and after re parking around the corner I was pushed to the bottom of the list to get one nail fixed and after waiting was asked to come back in a couple hours. I don’t live in the area so that was out of the question.
Tried to reschedule on my lunch break today and they still couldn’t get me in, which means I’m forced to find another nail shop because either their availability is really bad or their receptionist is!
Probably won’t try to schedule another appointment after getting the run around.

I called at 5 to make sure they could take me even though they closed at 6. They took me in and i got a Regular Spa Pedi + callus removal ($ 28) and a Gel Mani ($ 25?). Chau did my mani and she was very sweet and made sure i was happy every step of the way. There was a gentleman who did my pedi and paid great attention to detail. Although the mani was a little more expensive than i usually pay, i was very happy with the service and will be returning. At 6, they were having a birthday party for 2 of their employees, they never rushed me or rushed through the process. Oh, and they offered me water and tea!

They do a great job!!! Nails have lasted me over 2 weeks. Friendly service! Would recommend!

Treated my mom and myself to a mani-​pedi. I can’t remember the lady’s name but she did a fantastic gel mani. The massage chairs are amazing! I felt really relaxed. My moms manicure is already chipping it’s only been a week. Our pedicures are still looking nice though. The salon is clean. When we got there they told us to choose a color and offered us something to drink, which was nice. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is that the whole time I was there the guy wouldn’t stop starring at me while he was working on another customer. It made me feel uncomfortable. Other than that this place was great

I love this place. I have had both Lily and Tanya do my nails. This place is a little more expensive than some of the other places that I have gone to (e.g., La Jolla Nail Lounge, Nails by the Sea, etc.), but I am not going to complain. The last time that I got my nails done at Ivy it lasted almost 3 weeks.
They clearly know what they are doing!

Ivy is incredible! I have been getting my nails done for years now and this is hands down the best nail salon I have ever been to. I am so glad I found it early on when I moved to San Diego because i will definitely not be going anywhere else.
It is a very clean salon and they always offer water and/​or cookies when you get there. They employees all take their time and are perfectionists — my nails have truly never looked better. Everyone who works there is very sweet and easy to get along with.
Chau is the best! She always does my gel manicures and they are the best I have ever had. Will be returning here as long as I’m living in San Diego! (: (:

Lily is the best nail tech I’ve found in San Diego! I have acrylics over my nails with gel polish, but you’d never know they weren’t all natural! She does them nice and thin and the polish is perfect.
The salon is clean, and they offer green tea to sip while you get your nails done. Highly recommend! They do accept credit cards, but bring cash for the tip. Also, the parking lot is tiny, so be aware of that.

I had a wonderful experience here today getting my gel manicure and classic pedicure! The staff were so sweet and genuine. They provided me with water and helped me hang my purse up. They had the largest assortment of gel colors I have ever seen and were very patient while I sifted through them all. Lily did my nails and she was amazing! She paid such close attention to detail yet was still very efficient. I cannot remember the lady’a name who did my pedicure but she was so sweet and also did a great job.
They are very funny and include you in their conversation which is always nice as well. The prices are maybe a bit above average but the quality and color selection make up for it. Definitely recommend to anyone when in PB looking to get their nails done!
