I don’t know what to say about these guys. I hope what I dealt with was an isolated incident, but just be careful. The guys were really nice, and to my knowledge, the things we shipped from my office to another state arrived safely in the end. They will come to your office and package up the things you need to ship, take it to their facility, paletize it or whatever, and get your freight ready to ship out. They contract out their actual shipping from what I was told, and it gets there in about a week. They’re flexible with the pick up times and they can get to you in a rush if needed.
We were given a quote that ended up changing when they found out we had stairs with no elevator. Now, I can understand this, but we weren’t even asked if we had any stairs, and then they still charged us a «per step» fee when they showed up to take our banker’s boxes.
We figured this was understandable and took the responsibility for not mentioning it. A couple days later, the items still hadn’t been shipped. I had been out of the office for a few days and came back to several emails and messages from them saying they had questions and were trying to confirm and they needed to get a hold of me. The reason this irked me is I had contacted the guy I was originally working with to give him new contact information to my manager who he could contact since I wouldn’t be around.
When we finally got in touch with them, they told us that guy had been fired and they needed to confirm everything he did. It turns out they quoted our shipment based on sending it somewhere in California, and our shipment was going to Wisconsin. How would that even make sense? I still don’t know. This obviously changed our shipping fee.
All of this didn’t necessarily bother me. I can understand if someone gets fired from a place and the other people have to pick up his slack and his fuckups. I get that. What I don’t get is the way they didn’t really take any responsibility for their company’s name. They acted as though that employee and his mistakes were no longer their problem and it seemed like they were asking me to pity them and start from scratch without really understanding that they already have customers in process whose quotes and whose progress should be honored regardless of what was messed up on their end. If that were my job, I would have to give it to me at the quoted price even though it was grossly off.
One star is for getting our items there safely.
My experience was a one star experience, but I added another star for them finally giving us a discount after my boss had to call and get nast about it.
The third star is because I don’t think they were awful — I think we were run through the ringer, and I would advise people to be careful, but I can only rate based on my personal experience and haven’t heard anything else about the company. Just be careful and stand up for yourself. They do have good prices and your items will be sent securely, but I didn’t feel comfortable at all in the process.
