History

Established in 2011.

Hodad’s has been recognized as one of the top 5 burger joints in the country by CNN!

Our 45 Year overnight success story begins back in 1969, Byron and Virginia Hardin began serving the World’s Best Burgers in the beach community of Ocean Beach San Diego.

Hodad’s first location was on the beach at the end of Santa Monica Ave. in OB. In 1991, Hodad’s OB opened at it’s present location on Newport Ave.

In 2011 we opened our second location at 10th & Broadway in downtown San Diego and in 2012 we opened a seasonal spot inside Petco Park for all of the baseball Fans. We now have a catering truck too.

Hodad’s is now owned by second generation Burgermeister, Mike «Bossman» Hardin. He’s a local guy and a surfer.

The thing that really makes the Hodad’s Burger stand out is the AMPLE amount of fresh and meaty toppings. The burgers are just huge. Simple but Huge. We keep it all simple with good local beers, REAL milkshakes and super crispy Fries and Onion Rings. That’s it. No Gimmicks.

Business Owner

Hodad’s is now owned by second generation Burgermeister, Mike «Bossman» Hardin. He’s a local San Diego guy and an Ocean Beach surfer. He does his best to make life better for America’s Military with a gang of other great Chefs with their group called the MESSLORDS!

These fine folks travel the globe feeding our hungry troops on assignment and from what we hear back from them, that little taste of home makes a world of difference. All around good guy and damn fine burger maker, Cheers to the Bossman!
