Hillcrest Advanced Aesthetic Dermatology

They never answer the phone. This isn’t the first time I’ve tried to make an appointment but it is the last.

I was excited to schedule an appointment with this dermatologist unfortunately they have no interest in acquiring new patients or calling their patients back. I have called everyday for the last 3 days to schedule an appointment, 2 left voicemails, e mails, and even called their Encinitas office to try to schedule and see if their Hillcrest location is open. Yesterday the Encinitas receptionist mentioned that they are incredibly understaffed at both locations and have been in training but said someone would contact me later that day. No one did. I called the Encinitas office again the next day (since there is no one at the Hillcrest location) and another girl gave me the same story and said it would take about 48 hours hours for someone to contact me back. It has been more than 48 hours, but I asked if it is typical of their office to take two days to call back their patients and she said I should look else where for another dermatologist. I thought that was pretty rude but I can see they have no interest in new patients. Luckily there are plenty of other offices in San Diego and I’m sure it does not take more than 2 days to call you back. Im sure the doctors at this location are great but they might want to reconsider finding new receptionists that don’t tell people to go elsewhere when they ask a logical question. I get you’re understaffed but asking what the average call back turnaround time is a logical question, and there is no reason to tell people to go elsewhere for asking that. Oh well that’s exactly what I am going to do. FYI: If you do plan on scheduling something with them their next appointment is in October

Dr. Heimer is my favorite Dermatologist of all time. He is caring, compassionate, and very professional. I’ve been going to him for about 7 or 8 years. If you are looking for dermal fillers, he is the man! I researched the market when I was interested in having Sculptra injections, and he was very highly rated. That’s when I started going to him and I’ve never left. He is excellent in my opinion. The atmosphere of their Hillcrest office is always comfortable to me. I feel the good vibrations! Over the years, I’ve had numerous types of dermal fillers from him: Sculptra, Restalyne, Juvaderm, Radiesse. I’ve also had Botox, IPL, and other miscellaneous things.
Yes, his focus is primarily cosmetic dermatology, but he does traditional dermatology as well. He keeps up with the latest in dermatology too. I’m definitely a fan.
The only down side to me is the price, which is painful to my budget, but worth it to my face!
Dr. Heimer is really good!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful my experiences have been with Dr. Heimer and his staff. Everyone in the office is welcoming, friendly, attentive, gracious and knowledgeable. Dr. Heimer is an extremely accomplished physician who uses innovative approaches to achieving the best results with his patients. He is compassionate, caring, and takes a great deal of time with each patient to determine his or her needs/​desires and develop a solution that yields the best results while keeping procedural costs in mind. While Dr. Heimer rightfully could be charging more for his services than other physicians, his prices are very reasonable. Robin, his office manager, is also a joy to be around. Since I’ve been going to Dr. Heimer, friends and family have commented that I look better than I ever have. How can anyone argue with results like that?
