Established in 1939.

Dutch Higgs and Ferd Fletcher became acquainted during a lawsuit in which they were on opposite sides and on January 1, 1939 formed their partnership, Higgs & Fletcher. Years later when Henry Pitts Mack joined the firm, the LLP became Higgs Fletcher & Mack. The firm now has over 20 practice groups and more than 70 attorneys with universal experience and local focus.

JOHN M.

Manager

John Morrell is the firm’s Chairman and Managing Partner. He has held this position since 1997. In addition to handling firm management, John Morrell has a full time Commercial and Bankruptcy Law practice. John Morrell’s practice is almost equally balanced between creditor and debtor representation in insolvency matters. He has handled numerous complex Chapter 11 reorganization cases as Debtor in Possession Counsel and as Official Creditors’ Committee Counsel. John Morrell also has extensive experience in representing secured creditors in complex cases. His experience draws upon expertise in commercial transactions, including real estate, sales of goods, securities, secured personal and real property transactions, as well as other issues directly relevant to complex business transactions and operations.
