Came by my office down in Sorrento valley. Food was good. I personally didn’t like the teriyaki sauce as much, it was a bit overwhelming. Service was good. $ 8 for the bowls an extra $ 1 for vegetables added. Not a fan of the price but it’s a food truck.

This food truck was at Kaiser this afternoon in Chula Vista off of Palm Ave. Didn’t have have best experience with the cashier. After getting my food, I cut into the chicken & it was raw inside plus it had a lot of fat on it. I bought it back to the truck and showed the blonde cashier the raw chicken. She said«It’s thigh meat, it’s suppose to be pink inside.» But I told her«It’s bloody, not pink! I can see the blood vessels still.» She didn’t offer to fix it but just handed my money back, which I happily took back. Then as I was walking away, another person came and said«Excuse me, I ordered half Mac /half rice but you gave me all rice.» Again the cashier was so rude, she told her«What do you want me to do, take half the rice back?» The lady replied«No, I just want what I ordered.» I didn’t stay to see the outcome but I hope then don’t come back here again! I wish I could give them ZERO stars for Customer Service!

Kinda disappointed. Paid 8 bucks for a small teriyaki bowl that consisted of cold chicken and mushy rice.

Love this truck! I usually get the kalua pork sandwich and I’ve tried nibbles of my friends foods :). I’ve never been disappointed! Definitely worth a try!

This food truck substituted in for one our regulars that comes. I normally don’t do the food trucks cause they are super expensive for the little amount you get, but since this was a rare one I thought I’d try. I got the Kalua Burger which was about $ 10 and it came with fries but it wasn’t as amazing as it looked. The meat was very salty and there was not much flavor besides that. Very little bbq sauce — which if more was added it would have probably tasted better. The bun was sorry and soggy. I feel like if you have a specialty burger, at least have a bomb bun to go with it. I wouldn’t get this again and wouldn’t recommend it. The fries also were just plain. Friendly staff tho!

These guys are awesome! Kalua pork, salmon and rice, Hawaiian favorites. We had them in our neighborhood for a camp out and pool party. No long waits, reasonable prices and good food. What more can you ask for?

I really liked the french fries. Thin, crisp, hot and just the right amount of salty. I normally don’t eat the fries, but I couldn’t resist! The Mahi-Mahi sandwich was tasty and very filling, too.

It’s so hard to come across a legit food truck where the price can match the quality of what you’re eating, and I can’t wait for this one to come back, and taste another piece of the menu. They were very friendly(not very many food truck occupants are) and the food was delicious. Bonus… They told me how long the food would take, so I wouldn’t be sitting there angrily. I chose to devour(because thats what I did) the kalua pork burger, and returned to work with a mini food coma. Good!

Out for my weekly pilgrimage to the Wednesday Downtown Curbside bites lunch, I perused that weeks trucks and spotted one that I had never seen before. What was this light blue truck… Hawaiian. Ooooh, I love Hawaiian. Give me a big mound of Kalua Pork and rice and I am one happy camper. I was totally excited to try it, and led my lunch buddies over to the truck. 2 of us tried the Kalua Pork plates and another tried the lumpia. The lumpia was really, really oily. The rice that came with the pork was the sticky gelatinous kind which my friend really liked. The pork was ok. It lacked a little saltiness and that smoked flavor that usually comes with being smoked in an imu all day, but it was moist. The sandwich version comes with BBQ sauce so that one probably had more flavor. The employees were super nice and my food was ready really quickly, so two pluses for them. If I try them again, I will probably go for the teriyaki chicken or they had a special hot roast beef sandwich that day that sounded delicious.

We booked Hana Hou for an event and they were so accommodating! I highly recommend them for events. Nyla was very quick to answer emails and answered all of my questions. I truly appreciated their willingness to help us out.

What’s with these crappy reviews?! They are new. Give them a chance to work out the kinks! Geezzzz. Anyways, I got the panko crusted Mahi Mahi sandwich served with garlic aioli slaw on a toasted Ciabbata roll! Simply delicious! I can’t wait to see them again so I could remember what it taste like. What i wanna try is the teriyaki glazed salmon with julienned vegetables. What does julienne mean? That’s why I have to try it. I do appreciate that there is finally a Hawaiian truck around since I have been following Aloha Plate for a while. Hopefully they become as popular!

disappointed. was so excited to see a Hawaiian bbg food truck this time! i am a huge fan. i love chicken katsu, so without even thinking about it, i ordered the chicken katsu. im not sure the chicken katsu was even chicken, it tasted fake and rubbery. The macaroni salad tasted like something you’d get from a grocery store. there were no sauces to go with the chicken katsu, katsu sauce??? and none of that sweet sauce you put all over everything on your plate. I am so disappointed. the only thing i ate on my plate was the rice. I would have rather driven to an L&L and spent the money there than wasting ten dollars on gross inedible chicken.

I booked Hana Hou Food truck for a property event at our apartment complex the food was great! The Pork Nachos were huge and delicious and the chicken teriyaki was very good as well. We look forward having you back to our community. Thanks for the great customer service.

We visited Hana Hou on Adams Ave. we ordered the Chicken Katsu plate and the pork and cabbage plate. The food was underwhelming overall. The Katsu was decent but the pork was completely unimpressive. Rice was well cooked but wasn’t anything special. The Hawaiian macaroni salad side was okay. However the prices were fair. Not terrible, but I won’t make a special trip for it.
