Greenfield Village Apartments

This is our second year here and overall it’s been pretty a pleasant stay. I moved here from Georgia so I’m used to getting a lot for my money. This was one of the more spacious apartment’s we found square footage wise for the money. They offer a lot of amenities like a beautiful gym with a really nice Roman «spa» and a sauna room. I think they offer sun tanning too. They have a movie theater room (haven’t tried it yet) and offer family movies for the residents on Sundays. They have a kid’s room in the rent office with a flat screen tv, computer, and books. A computer room for adults, just have to bring your own paper for printing. Two pool, two playgrounds, and they redid the basketball court. There are grills at the first playground. The parking for guests is terrible and they will tow your car if you don’t give your guest the parking pass. If you have more than one guest they should probably park on the street. Messed up but… We did start to get an ant problem when we first moved in but my husband ran to home depot and bought some stuff and we haven’t had much of a problem since. You do need to check back when you put in a maintenance request to ensure that it was put into the system. But we haven’t had much of an issue with maintenance. I’ve had to call Back up there but they will work with you. They will say that they have 7 to 10 days on a minor issue but I haven’t seen it actually take that long. They don’t do anything to refresh your apartment if you resign the lease because they are not going up as much on your rent since they took that option out. They will give you the number to a carpet cleaning company they contract with to get a discounted rate. Overall we’ve enjoyed our stay here. I forgot to add the gym offers exercise classes like cycling, and zumba.

ANT INFESTATION!!! AVOID!!! This place is horrible, unprofessional staff, lazy management, trash is horrifyingly piled up constantly.
And the kicker, a major and massive ANT issue!!! They claim they no nothing about it, but this is the 3^rd review to mention it!!!
Shady people run this place!
I have seen them upon eviction, go through people’s belongings and take what they want to keep before doing the legal thing, which is setting it outside on the curb.
Avoid this place unless you we completely out of options

If I could give this place a negative star I would… When I lived there management was horrible… Rude front desk workers and they are just as lazy as they are rude… While I was there I was given a nasty note about my service dog being in my apartment and was told I had 3 days to get rid of my dog or be evicted, excuse me but that is against the law… I met with Brandy who told me they misplaced my dogs paperwork when I mentioned it was against the law… Moving out during my pre inspection I was told everything looked good only a few minor touch ups for paint. They ended up repainting the entire apartment and charging me for it even though they told me only minor touch ups… They make you pay for a parking pass for a guest but as stated in a previous post, residents park there and guests are forced to park on the street. My friend got her car stolen parking on the street!!! My boyfriend also got a ticket for parking in a guest spot with a guest pass… Last but not least, a package was accidentally delivered there after I moved out… I called before it was delivered and left my call back number and got nothing… I called 4 times concerning my package and all 4 times it was the same story“the new resident isn’t returning our calls” turns out the new resident returned the package to the office not once but twice and instead of notifying me, they returned it to the postal worker… This place is not worth the money and headache… Look somewhere else before it’s too late!!!

I have been living here for a few months now, and I love it! Every place is what you make it, but my apartment is very clean, in great working order, and spacious. I have had a couple of maintenance issues come up, and they are always taken care of within 48 hours.
My neighbors are very low key, but it seems like the entire complex is like that.
I have had only positive interactions with the staff, especially Scott. He is fantastic, always answers my questions, and helps with whatever I need.
My favorite part of this place is the gym, that’s what really sold me. The equipment is great, and the organized group classes are great!
I truly enjoy living here, but admittedly I don’t usually have to deal with the things people complain about like parking.
Overall, this is a great complex! Very lowkey.

Been living here almost a year now
It has a pretty good sized gym. With a steam room which is a plus. The parking isn’t the best but it’s not too bad. The BIGGEST problem is that whenever it rains the fire alarm in our building and the one next to ours goes off. It is the loudest most ear penetrating noise to have in your apartment. I cringe when it rains because I’m anticipating the fire alarm to go off. Which it once did at 1 am while it was raining and took about 30 min to shut off. These are all false alarms and a glitch they have in the alarm systems. It’s def unsafe to have sooo many false alarms because people have stopped evacuating their buildings since they don’t take the fire alarm serious anymore. Management has yet to send out any information as to why this happens and pretty much when asked it’s like they have no idea why that’s going on. It’s pretty much a given that the fire alarm will go off when it rains and no one seems to have a clue on when it will be fixed.

Shitty place to live. I come to visit my brother every so often and there’s never parking. And with the new management they tow everyone’s car. My brother has one car for him and his wife and every time they have a family member over their car is towed. Being so close to the boarder and having families with 3 or 4 cars to a house who use up most of the parking shouldn’t make others who have one spot and pay an extra $ 50 to have a guest park in a spot fair. Why not just get license plates for people who live here and ticket the rest? If you want to live in a place where your cars get towed, and ticketed and are being over charged for amenities they claim to have that are never available «luxury apartments» this is the place !

Best apartments in San Diego! Great gym, great neighbors, safe community, great underground parking garage for resident. And there is a lot of little things that make this community just great! Check it out for yourself for a great living experience.

Where to start. This place is a fucking joke. Do not move here. Do not buy the other 4 or 5 star reviews. They are so far from real it’s not even worth giving a laugh. I was deployed and my wife was scheduled to move in. She gets here and there is water damage in our apartment. Literally everywhere. They were nice enough to give us a new unit. Great, thanks. If you love waking up to ants everywhere then this is the place for you. I have called countless times and finally try come and spray some bullshit spray that only works for a week. You have to repeat this process for about 3 weeks and finally some licensed exterminator will come and spray your unit. The «maintenance» staff is literally some Mexican guys that don’t know what the fuck they are doing. I’m very mechanically inclined and would love to do everything myself but nope, they have to document it. The staff is also a joke. One of the front desk women doesn’t even speak any English and they don’t even call you or alert you that you have a package ready to be picked up. The other one is some black chick who is somewhat of a bitch who you can tell just hates her job with a passion. The complex used to be a ton nicer with with the old management. Now there is dog shit everywhere. I shit you not… Everywhere. People that live here are so lazy it’s not even funny. They are to lazy to put there trash in the trash drop so I usually pick it up so the ants don’t get to it. They also love to raise your rent. Don’t fall for the 1465 move in special. They will jack it up a fuck ton when it’s time to renew your lease. If you love to wake up to blaring music from your neighbor or someone blaring music in the complex then move here. I can keep going on and on but hopefully you get the gist by now. It’s hilarious that the management at Greenfield won’t even respond to any of these reviews that people leave. They are pathetic.

I moved to San Diego on military orders and was sold on the gym with trainers, underground garages with reserved spaces, and elevator access to the upper floors with a great view. The next day, my wife arrives, is refused a tour, and the elevator is broken. A month later, we have a major, building-​wide ant invasion and have to argue to be put on the pesticide treatment list. By this time, They had already messed up our rent automatic deposit and I found out the gym does not actually have trainers and is frequently closed. In fact, today is Labor Day, and after a long day of duty yesterday, I walked to the gym, which I can only enter with an electronic key, and it is closed. Evidently, this complex doesn’t trust me, a paying member of this community, to work out unsupervised. Of course, that supervision consists of one inattentive attendant who I can only guess is paid to be on their phone. Likewise, this complex boasts a security guard that awkwardly stands by the gate around 1700 and possible towing for any guest that parks in your spot, even though you invited them to park there. With only a handful of guest spots for hundreds of residents, you’ll have to tell your guests to park in a nearby neighborhood. Sometimes, I wonder if they try to make the experience as inconvenient as possible.

Have spoken with management 3 times in 2 weeks about my neighbor’s disgusting use of their balcony as a pet waste area. All three times they have told me that they have given the tenant a 3 day warning to fix the issue. Today is day 3 and I just saw their dog shit on their balcony again. Such a lovely view from my bedroom.

Excuse me R&V management.. If you were to EXACTLY call Yes Energy water, they would tell you that you’re suppose to credit back the money you charge me since I already pay it online! 90 bucks is a lot. I already call to confirm it from them. They can’t do anything since it’s you guys that I’m suppose to contact which I did billions of time, but you guys just give me the same excuses. Who the freak bill the water every 3 months? Bull crap. Anyway, you can keep that money since I know you guys are money hunger for it. I’m glad I’m out of that shitty unprofessional place.

I had been here since June 2012. The amenities and place is nice. The complex was sold to another management and the complaint I have since they manage the place that no one was cleaning everyday to maintain the cleanliness of the property. The previous management has cleaners everyday. But a month ago I noticed some changes they started cleaning and making the place more neat. Hopefully it would stay that way. Guest parking is a problem, you have to plan ahead because there are not enough parking spaces for guest. Staffs are nice, never had a problem dealing with them. So far, i am ok staying here.

Don’t move here!!! Ever since the new management took over, everything has gotten Extremely bad! The gym is a joke !!! No fitness director! People who have no idea about fitness babysit the gym at random hours. Before we had Adam and Joaquin who were running the gym and being very helpful not only were they trainers but they were the fitness directors. It’s sad how bad it is… The cleaning people do a horrible job, the gym looks dirty because the cleaning lady that worked there for years is also gone. She would be in charge of cleaning the gym all day. The front office people are rude ! They don’t care about the resident’s concerns. Parking is a nightmare, the building that I live in smells like pot, cars are always getting broken into… new management is unprofessional!

I’ve lived here since July of 2014. There have been some ups and downs, but we are glad to be here.
This complex is huge. With well over 600 apartments, we anticipated the leasing office facing challenges that would come naturally to such a big property. We live in bldg 5, and it is quiet and peaceful. Our neighbors are courteous. If they have ever disturbed us with noise, we asked KINDLY to be accommodated, and have not been disappointed. The apartments themselves (inside) are very nice. Clean. New. The parking is definitely a challenge to those who only have 1 parking spot reserved in the garage. Our 2 bedroom has 2 reserved spots… so no problems with parking.
We had 4 major maintenance issues needing repaired when we transferred from our one bedroom to our two bedroom, and they responded within 36 hours. The office is hard to reach. But if you are persistent, and KIND, they will respond well and help.
Although this place has «issues», it’s not impossible. The major things would include improved cleaning of common areas and better parking for guests. I would love more guest parking for family and friends.

I would give this place 0 stars! I’ve been here two years and this place has gone downhill with the new management. The pictures they show are in no comparasin to what this place really looks like. No one cleans anymore. The property, courtyards, stairwell, garage, mailroom & elevators are distugusting, dirty and smell like pee. They allow residents to leave trash outside their doors or leave up holiday decorations. The elevator is broken every other day, when you try to speak to anyone in the office they give you attitude like it’s your fault that this place is gross or something broke in your apartment. The rent goes up every year. I’ve always paid my rent on time yet they don’t care about that. They hired a rip off of a towing company named NPS Connected Solutions, that just came in started charging resident for stupid «violations» it’s ridiculous that we pay rent yet have nowhere to park! My new car was also scratched by some idiot who lives here but that’s not their problem. They are charging me $ 115 beacuse I parked in a visitors parking space over night, and said I can no longer park in my residence unless I pay the fine. Are you kidding me?! This is a scam for money seeing as I pay rent and paid $ 25 for the permit sticker.
Please do yourself a favor and don’t move here unless you want to deal with this nonsense! The pools and gym aren’t even worth all the bullshit here. Plus none ever rents out the pool house for parties beacuse they make you take out a renters insurance policy of almost a million dollars and is ridiculous. That’s why everyone has their lame family parties on the table next to the grills.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! Ever since the new management/​owners took over the place is a living pigsty. They NEVER CLEAN the hallways. There is dog urine everywhere. Even HUMAN URINE right outside the elevator. I went to complain to the office, and all they said was that before they took over three cleaning people were assigned per building. Now, there are three cleaning people for the entire complex!!! They told me they have told the new owners but that they do not care!!! Do not move here!!! Just look at the sign someone posted on the hallway just today…

I really enjoy staying here. The amenities are great and the new management/​maintenance is awesome. There is jet noise but an airfield is a few miles away so what do you expect. At times it can be loud from kids playing but again you can’t expect children to not be outside and playing. The garage parking has been great and the prices definitely reflect the location, amenities and sq. ft. I have a 3bd/​2bth and intend on renewing. I hope this review is useful!

My family and i lived in this apartment community for 2 years and it was horrible.
Here is why:
–the office staff is horrible. No customer service at all. They seem to forget that without us, the tenants, they would have nothing to do all day or even have this job.
–rent checks somehow always go missing. Seriously!
–rent DOES GO UP AFTER ONE YEAR!
–the community is full of inconsiderate people, just like the staff. Makes you think, right?
–summit patrol is no help. You call for a maintenance issue and they supposedly fix it. Until you find out that they really didn’t.
–refrigerator leaks. I told them about it and All they do is send this Mexican guy that knows nothing.
–the elevators ARE ALWAYS BROKEN.
–kids play in the center of the apartments on the first floor and it gets so loud that we just leave for the day!!! Unattended as well.
–fire alarm always going off. Waste of resources.
–parking is horrible. Just horrible
–the security that «walks around» does nothing to help security. They don’t talk to you, they just walk!
–in the past) months there has been too many police department visits for whatever reason.
–loud couple fights outside!
–smells like weed
–tagging in the elevators and pipes
–the pools are dirty
–walls are very very thin.
–dogs are now accepted. It would work if the owners would pick up their crap and leash them.
At the end of the day. My husband and I did not want to surround ourselves with the above. I didn’t want any tagging or smelling like week for my two children. So we gave notice, they got so angry by the way, and moved out!!!
Please don’t live here. There are so many other places when you can live.

One year later: my rent did go up, but you have three options to choose from, which determines how much more it goes up.
PROs: maintenance is still on point and responsive. The office is now open every day (except some holidays).
CONs: The airport nearby hosts navy planes, which are loudest on the weekends and sometimes during the week. It gets so loud it sounds like they’re about to drop a bomb on you; the walls shake and car alarms get set off.
At night a nearby facility (junkyard, Otay landfill, or Mexico) is either burning tires or garbage, which I’m pretty sure is illegal. The security personnel don’t always seem to know how much authority they can and can’t use.
Although we are situated on a hill near the ocean, we are 3 miles North of Mexico, 5 miles West of a state prison, less than half a mile West of a junkyard, a few miles south of Otay landfill and the closest beach is considered to be the dirtiest in San Diego (mostly because it’s so close to Mexico).
The worst part about living here is the neighbors: loud, inconsiderate, disruptive and they smoke. Omg, the upstairs neighbors are terrible! They must be military boot-​wearing alcoholic morbidly obese insomniacs with a constantly moving furniture disorder!
Too many neighbors don’t supervise their underage kids.
The gate is almost always broken.
Most door locks are either broken or don’t work, so anyone can come in. And they do!
Certain crack patterns in the walls make me suspicious of the solidity of the foundation. However, it could be from settling.

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! We were forced to move from our gorgeous apartment to this hell hole because of crazy rent prices. This place is awful; I don’t even know where to start. We moved in November 2012 and have had the following happen:
Stolen packages from our door because 1. people here tend to be thieves; 2. two addresses that are similar (5545 Ocean Gate vs. 5545 Surf Rider) and those tenants KEPT OUR PACKAGES.
Car was scratched and no one «saw» anything. Not even the security guards the private company hired to patrol saw anything. By the way, you might as well be a vigilante to keep your property safe (I’ll elaborate in a bit).
These apartments are so cheaply made that even putting up anything against the wall like a couch literally rips off chunks of the stucco.
I have the worst neighbors. Neighbors from hell. You will hear them running, walking, having sex, stomping around when they party, etc. I have filed numerous complaints with Summit Patrol (the private company they hire), banged on their door, called the cops AND NOTHING HAS HAPPENED TO THEM.
Just the other night I had to call the cops again because a fight broke out in the parking lot that resulted in 3 arrests, but 1. the security patrol NEVER showed up and that’s because they’re paid to walk the grounds from 10 pm. to 7 am., 2. people were pathetically watching from balconies and waiting to see if the group of drunk gang members were going to stab someone, and 3. it took the cops an eternity to get here.
Front office staff is awful. They keep putting notices on my door (again, mistaken addresses), telling me I’m going to get evicted, my lease is being terminated, I have numerous packages at the office that I have failed to pick up (which are not even addressed to me), I’m «behind» on my rent (again, addressed to the wrong person/​apartment), they entered my apartment twice because of the wrong address, and the staff keeps hasseling me when I try to get my packages with a valid ID (again, because of the wrong address).
People drive like lunatics even though there are a ton of kids that play all over the complex. After closing hours the gates close, but you will have a line out to the street because idiots forget their FOB to open the gate and block the entrance for those who are trying to open it. There are A LOT OF MEXICAN PLATES with no regard to how they drive here.
If you’re ok with all of the above, then move in. Oh yeah, after a year the rent sky rockets! The only reason we’re not moving is because we’re getting ready to transfer. Frankly, I can’t wait to leave this wretched complex. WORST PLACE TO LIVE. EVER!!!
