This place is the best. The portion sizes are huge, the customer service is really good and the employees are friendly. The orange chicken is the best much better than Panda Express. The prices are pretty cheap for the amount of food they give you. Overall, food taste great, portion sizes are huge, great customer service, and good prices. I highly recommend this Chinese food place over Panda Express.

I’m not sure about their other entrees but if you get the GARLICCHICKEN you will not be disappointed! Whenever I go I buy all the garlic chicken that they have cuz it’s that good. And every time I’ve gone, the lady fills up my plates. Pretty cheap also but cash only. I love this place!

Cash only. Not $ 4.50 as others have said. Two entrees and fried rice was $ 6.79. I ate the fried rice which was okay and then threw the entrees away. They were so not good. I had to wonder how long ago they’d made the orange chicken. It was very cold and very dry inside. The mushroom chicken was cold and gelatinous. I just couldn’t do it. Clean place though. The lady was nice. Could be an off day but I doubt I’d come here again.

My go-to for fast Chinese take-out. The ladies who serve me are sweethearts and often generous with their portions. The food is delicious and does not disappoint — it beats the Chinese food down the street that’s for sure. In my opinion, it’s quality over quantity when comparing the two. Even then, Great Happiness offers great portions while holding down quality flavors.

Take out was packed full. Tasty food. Orange chicken was probably a little overdone but the thai chicken was flavorful and moist. Chow mein was nothing special. Will probably return if I get a craving for chinese food and I’m in the area. It really is about a 3.5, but I’ll give them the extra .5 because the lady behind the counter was kind.

I got an order of fried rice and hot & sour soup to eat with the to go order of meat I bought from elsewhere. This place is very heavy on the pepper(in both dishes). It takes away from the other flavors and can be overwhelming. The soup was very sour. I’m a big fan of hot & sour soup and order it wherever has it so trust me when I say it was too sour. I added some extra salt and it was okay. Not excellent but not too bad either. Definitely not a place I’d go out of my way for due to the pepper. I have a feeling the other dishes might be the same so I’d rather not take the risk.

This place isn’t bad! Much better than Panda Express and it might even be cheaper too. Staff are pretty unfriendly but whatever, I got my food to-go

Since I had found this place near my work. I have been here a couple of times!!! Depending when you go, one lady who I love gives a lot and one just gives you an ok portion. Once you are spoiled with the«giver» it sucks when you walk in and you see the other lady LOL. Customer service is great and they are fast and efficient. I love their orange chicken and I am not a fan of orange chicken but theirs has a nice thick sauce that is not over powering and the chicken is still crispy. I did notice that they are heavy on the black pepper on their rice and noodle dishes. I did not give them 5 stars due to the interior of the restaurant… I don’t think I would be able to eat there. They just need to do some deep cleaning and updating their décor and walls and I think it would be great!

Ill personally never go here again. Food wasnt all that, and their stingy with how much they give you. The place down the street is better and fills up your plate. I wont waste my money here again.

Underrated chinese food place! Some fast food chinese restaurants have their food on heating trays and it ends up being soggy or old, this place always gives you food that tastes and feels fresh off the pan! I really enjoy the food and the service at Great Happiness. The old lady behind the counter today was very sweet and welcoming. You get hefty portions for as low as $ 6 and I would say that this is my favorite Chinese food spot in San Diego aside from Royal Mandarin. Thumbs up and no complaints so far.

After seeing the other reviews, I was extremely excited. I did not expect the disrespect, and generalized lack of customer service. I will never go back there again.

Do not eat here. As a chef the safe food practices are lets just say they don’t follow all the rules. Like coughing and touching food. Yuck!

Best orange chicken I have ever tasted! And the prices are pretty good. For a one item it’s $ 4.00, and for two items it’s $ 4.99. I got the one item with steamed rice and of course, orange chicken. I love the consistency of the chicken because it has a nice crunchy outer shell, and the sauce is just great. I have to say, I’m not really fan of their chow mein or fried rice. Their spicy chicken, beef and broccoli and pepper steak are my boyfriend’s favorite. The lady behind the counter is really nice too. It can also get a bit busy, and parking is tight. Other than that, try this place out! Just like other reviewers have mentioned, this is a CASHONLY spot.

I randomly wandered into this place one day and was pleasantly surprised. I have to admit the food isn’t fantastic, but for the price, it’s pretty damn good. I ordered two combo plates at $ 5 each(each combo was rice and/or noodles with two entrees) and everything was decent enough for two of us to polish off both plates. Part of the food quality and freshness probably depends on luck and timing. Their garlic chicken wings were particularly delicious. Anyway it definitely exceeded my low expectations and made for a decent meal.

**CASHONLY** First off, I came in right before they closed, which usually people aren’t too happy about. However, the owners(I think) were so kind, and adorable too. Lots of seating as well. There wasn’t that much of a selection, it being so late, but everything out look good. I got fried rice and orange chicken. It was delicious! Maybe because everything is amazing when you are starving??? Either way, I was very pleased to stumble upon this place while driving around for food. Overall…cheap, yummy food complimented by great service. She even gave me a freshly picked orange :)

I give this place 5 stars because it is the best at what it does. Really good tasting Chinese take-out at super prices. This restaurant is tucked away in the corner next to the 7⁄11 at 70th& El Cajon Blvd. They give you enough food for three meals at under $ 5! The food is fresh and tasty. I get either the broccoli with beef or the orange chicken. That is accompanied with a heaping mound of either chow mein or fried rice. There are some tables there if you want to eat there — and a tv is usually on. The woman who works there has been there for at least 10 years and is so nice. The parking can be dicey if there are a lot of folks going to the 7⁄11 or check cashing place.

If your looking for cheap Chinese food, this is the place. For 5 dollars you get a box stacked FULL of food, and if you dine in you get a free bowl of soup!(their hot n sour is great) But dont forgot cash. They have a great selection, great orange chicken, spicy chicken, curry, and they switch up thier menu every now and then to add some variety. This place is like two blocks from my house and it’s officially my go too place for Chinese. Can’t say enough good things about it!

I Love this place! This is fast food place, so this place does not serve the greatest meal, but I think it is pretty awesome for under $ 5! This is my favorite fast food Chinese place! And I started recommending it to friends live nearby, and EVERYBODY loved this place. This place is cheaper than Panda Express and you get soooo much more food that Panda. And taste better than Panda too! Their Garlic fried chicken is the best fried chicken in this neighborhood! Even though they sometimes don’t have this, but their sweet and sour soup is awesome too. And the list of great food here goes on and on… And not to mention I always get a great service. Another good thing about this place is food is always fresh. But since this is tiny place, they stop making new food around 6−7pm So sometimes you get only a few options for dinner. All in all, I believe this place is the best cheap fast food Chinese!!!
