All I ever get here is the po boy because I love it that much. Everything is so fresh. Sandwich is huge and dirt cheap. Great little lunch spot.

Awesome cute little place on the corner in Little Italy. If this is your first time here, it can get really overwhelming during the lunch rush. I wish one of the two ladies behind the counter took the time to help me out and ask me questions rather than helping everyone else who came in and was ready. Finally when I was ready, I just wish they took them time to slow things down. Sandwiches came out fast and the whole register process was quick and easy, that I feel like they could have taken the time to slow things down between the staff and customer to really just provide that customer service rather than, what’s your order, ok pay go bye. Maybe I’m being fickle but just maybe that little extra could make me smile and remember my experience. The sandwich that I got was delicious. A little on the spicy side but it didn’t over power the sandwich which was cool. Drinks are regular products in plastic bottles. They do have soda in glass bottles too.

Sandwiches were tasty but this place seems like it needs some help. We ordered 3 sandwiches and a salad. We specifically made sure there was no bread or croutons on the salad(due to an allergy) when the salad came out there was bread all over it so we had to get a refund. Then two of our sandwiches came out one with a long blonde hair in it and the others was a completely different sandwich them we ordered but with our order number on it. The last sandwich was forgotten all together. Then we were given a sandwich that was then taken back because it was someone else’s order. When we finally got our last sandwich we were told«sorry the guys in the back don’t know what there doing». The food was good but due to all of the mistakes and lack of communication we won’t be going back.

I needed a fast but tasty sandwich today. So I start checking the area(Little Italy) in San Diego. I came a cross with the place where I can park my car conveniently. I asked the girl at the counter for their specials and she recommended the«hot Pastrami» sub! It was satisfactory yet very reasonable price. If I have to give one criticism that they need to put more meat into that sub! Other that for the price I think it was really good.

We stopped here for lunch during our travels to San Diego and were not disappointed! We were hungry and the sandwiches were ready pretty quickly. They were reasonably priced and quite delicious! They were also pretty proportionate, so we did not leave hungry! We ordered two sandwiches(the po’ boy and the capicola provolone) and split them with each other. I enjoyed both pretty well and can’t say which was my favorite. There’s plenty more sandwiches to try, too! Next time I find myself in San Diego, there is a very good of me making it a point to hit this place up again. Just thinking about it makes me crave another sandwich.

Solid sandwiches. One of the rare places in Little Italy that has it’s own parking lot. Plenty of outdoor seating and lives up to it’s name. You don’t wait too long until you have a good sandwich in hand, after you order. Worth a try, if you are in the area and craving a sandwich. If you like avocado, I can recommend the avocado sub. They use 1 whole avocado in it.

Fresh and tasty! I always go for lunch and I have yet to be let down! Very fresh and quite flavorful. The vegetables were crisp and the bread in itself quite pleasing. I love how they have their bread baked fresh daily, which by all means deserves five stars on its own. Highly recommended

Tasty sub! I had the spicy turkey. The bread was good but I think I would prefer it toasted next time! Lots of turkey and a nice amount of avocado. The spicy sauce on it was yummy… Often they say spicy and it’s not… This was! It was a little overpriced for subs but I would still come again.

Needed sandwiches for a wedding party that was in a waiting pattern for the wedding start. Quick service and the sandwiches were all very good. There is no indoor seating, but in San Diego that may not matter.

Much better than anticipated. 3.5 stars but rather round up than down for the quality of food and they way they carefully put these suckers together. I had to go with the capicola provolone sandwich which is capicola, provolone, lettuce tomato, jalapeño, onion and oil & vinegar. Didn’t notice jalapeño listed on the sandwich, but what a surprise. Love the heat on this sandwich. Jalapenos, capicola and provolone are a beautiful and perfect combination. Whoever came up with this combination is a genius in my book. Liked the quality of the ingredients, but they could cut back on the fluff(lettuce and tomato) and add a couples more slices of that beautiful capicola. Sandwich is a little lightweight for the size and price. Bread fell a little flat for me. Love the way they put just enough oil & vinegar to accentuate the sandwich and not over do it. Drives me fuggin’ bananas when way too many people haphazardly just slop on oil & vinegar without paying attention and damage the bread. They nailed it perfectly. Strong sandwich shop.

Positive: The pastrami sandwich was wonderful, lots of dog & family friendly outdoor seating. Negative: Grab & Go call them self a destination for fast and friendly service… i will say although my sandwich was good it was neither fast or friendly… despite being not very busy(4 other customers)… and complimenting the girl taking my orders manicure.

«It tastes like eating air» — Jacob K. Who is Jacob K? Just an old friend of mine but a guy who has a great way of describing things. You see, when he asked me where I had lunch a few days ago I replied, «Grab & Go» and his response was exactly that… «it tastes like eating air» and he’s right! I couldn’t agree more. It’s such a mediocre sandwich place, which does seem like 90% bread,(air), and 10% filling. I’ve been through a few sandwiches on the menu with the same results, most recently a fully loaded roast beef. Having everything on top of the roast beef, a typically bland sandwich anyway actually added more onion flavor than anything making it an air and onion sandwich if anything at all. G&G is ab-fab for convenience but Mona Lisa across the street is a much better bet if the line doesn’t eat your entire afternoon.

I have been a fan of the many Grab and Go Subs located around town, and this location with its friendly quick service and great sandwiches. This time around I went for their Grilled Cheese Feta and Provolone with added bacon on my part on wheat bread. The sandwich came piping hot with the feta and provolone melted and halved and tightly wrapped( ). On closer inspection, I noticed the sandwich also came with sliced avocados which I did not previously know, so I scored there. The feta was bliss and the provolone melted all over the bacon so I had to step back a bit after each bite because it was that good( ). The wheat bread was moist and warm and held up well to all the ingredients( ). It was very smart of them to wrap it well in wax paper, even though I took some it off for a picture. Great sandwich and this was actually my breakfast, hence the bacon. The girls at the counter were great. In fact, I wish I knew her name, but one of the young ladies was the one who recommended the sandwich to me. I wanted something breakfast like, so she suggested the Grilled Feta with the added bacon. It was a winner indeed.

I love the wraps here but I feel like the wraps could be a little bigger for the price we are paying. I usually get the turkey and avocado wrap but I tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch one and it was quite delicious. I like how expedient this place is. I live down the street so I can just walk here but parking may be tough for those of you commuters. Hint: Parking is free at meters on Sundays :)

I woke up hungry on Sunday morning, and once I completed a few chores I was VERY hungry. A sandwich sounded perfect, so I decided to take a brief walk and head over to Grab & Go, a local sandwich shop that I’ve noticed on several occasions. Grab & Go offers a spacious outdoor seating area equipped with chairs, tables and umbrellas, situated right on the corner of Hawthorne and India, a perfect spot to sit back and watch the hustle and bustle of the ‘hood. When I arrived, business was rather slow and I was met with a female cashier who didn’t seem too friendly. At any rate, I opted for the Tuna Sub. For $ 6.95 or so this was really a great selection. The tuna was fresh and didn’t suffer from liberal doses of mayo, as other tuna concoctions can often be plagued with. The bread was magnifico; fresh and crunchy. Overall, Grab & Go is a nice, inexpensive lunch option in my neighborhood and, dare I say it, a little better than Mona Lisa across the street(gulp). I’ll be back to try more!
