Good Earth Plant Company is San Diego’s largest locally owned and operated provider of interior and exterior landscape design, installations and maintenance services, and our highly experienced and diverse staff has helped us achieve this leadership position.

Under our GreenScaped Buildings banner, we apply everything we have learned about growing plants in containers combined with a new approach to introducing plants and nature into our urban environment by making use of non-​traditional gardening space: green roofs, living walls, tower gardens, and more that we have yet to discover.

History

Established in 1977.

Jim Mumford, a long time San Diego resident, began his career in 1977 with the opening of Good Earth Plant & Flower Company, a flower «bucket stand» in downtown San Diego.

Three decades later, Mumford is a thought leader in expanding the potential for bringing the living world of plants into our everyday lives to experience their positive environmental, aesthetic, and health benefits.

Mumford is an award winning plantscaper, green roof and living wall designer, a sought after speaker and a recipient of numerous local and national awards. He is a Certified Landscape Professional, Accredited Green Roof Professional, licensed contractor and a nationally recognized plantscaper. Mumford is currently studying the relatively new fields of biomimicry and biophilia.
