Tricia H. is an amazing hair stylist! Not only is she knowledgeable about hair health, but she can style both curly and straight hair of any texture. She is also comfortable with any length. I have curly textured medium-​length hair. She has dyed, cut, flat-​ironed, and given me a Keratin blow-​out. She has also styled the hair of my teenage daughters. They love how healthy their hair feels after leaving her salon. Her prices are reasonable. I would recommend her services to anyone.

Started coming to Gloss Salon 2 years ago. Tricia was recommended to me by a good friend who has been getting her hair done by her for several years. It’s difficult to find a stylist who specializes in ethnic hair but Tricia is the one! Not only is she meticulous and professional but super sweet! She takes her time to perfect my color and keratin treatment every time! The dryness and breakage of my hair has completely stopped and it has grown longer than ever before. I get so many compliments! Prices are very reasonable and location is beautiful.

I have been getting my hair done by Lyndsey for a while now and I will follow her forever! I change my hair all the time and in the past, I could tell stylists would be annoyed by me, but Lyndsey is always up for the challenge and always knocks it out of the park. I love how versatile her skills are: cuts, natural color, fun colors, ombré, balayage, extensions… You name it, she does it and does it well. Not to mention, so many huge hair companies repost and feature her work on their social media and websites so you know she is one of the best in the industry! I feel lucky to be able to get my hair done by her. I HIGHLY recommend her and I love this salon. It has the most welcoming atmosphere and I am always greeted by the owner and the other stylists, it really makes you feel comfortable.

Lyndsey has done SO many amazing things with my hair! From balayage to fashion colors, and now she’s doing my extensions! The salon is so cute, and lyndsey is so chill to talk to and makes the time fly when I’m gettin my wig right. She can do it all, from sun-​kissed balayage to traditional foiled highlights to kick ass braid styles! This girl can do it all and you’ll walk out feeling like a bo$$!

I use to go to Style Lounge and now I go here because I simply love the comfortable atmosphere! Everyone is so nice and amazing hair stylist! I go to Lyndsey! She’s amazing!

Love Gloss, great stylists, great location and beautiful salon. Wouldn’t go any place else in San Diego, come all the way from Vegas just to see Gina, been seeing her for over 10 years.

I have been going to Lyndsey for all my hair needs for years now. And now she is at an even better salon at Gloss! Lyndsey is the best with anything I throw at her for hair and she is very creative when I want to try something totally new but have no idea what I want. She does great color and I could not be happier with her and now the great new salon at Gloss where everyone was so nice and welcoming!!!

I’m not much of a Unilocaler but this one needs to be done. Super lovely place and has many stylist to choose from. BUT DO NOT BOOK WITH DUNICA. Very rude and unprofessional. She was late coming to the salon for the appointment and loves to argue with the client.

Wow! What a spectacular disappointment! I think they don’t like people over 50!
I’m new to the neighborhood, so I walked in to see if they might be able to take me for a trim. I got a colossal cold shoulder and «mean girl vibe». Realizing that it’s an imposition to be a walk-​in when they are busy, and having heard from neighbors that it’s a good place, I called to make an appointment and identified myself as the person who had come in earlier that day looking for a trim. Dunia strung me along, asking me when I could come in, and we made a time the following week. I showed up at the appointed time and she acted like I was an alien with two heads! She acted like she had never talked to me and told me it was «a communication problem». I’m usually pretty good at communicating on things like this, so I was baffled and embarrassed. She was working with another client and was totally disinterested in even sorting out what had happened. She told me, dismissively, that I could wait a half hour or so, and maybe she would have time to cut my hair.
I was so humiliated and embarrassed– my guess is I did not look «hip» enough when I walked in the first time, since I am over 50, and so I was not going to get much in the way of service. I walked down the street and booked a haircut with a different salon that seemed more interested in having me as a client.
Even though I live a couple of blocks away and pass the place all the time, I won’t EVER go back because it felt so unwelcoming and I felt so demeaned by their behavior. Don’t know if the haircut would have been any good, but if the price of the cut includes being embarrassed and demeaned, I don’t need it.

Dunia Diaz is amazing with both cuts and color! I have blonde hair which was turning orange from my old stylist. I heard about Dunia and she not only corrected my color, but in a handful of visits, my hair is amazingly healthy and fabulous. I get compliments on my hair all the time now!
If you want a stylist who not only knows her stuff, but cares about you and your hair, gosee Dunia. The salon is a sweet little place with the cutest little dog, Tyson!

I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored by Dunica Diaz for YEARS now, and she does an AMAZING job. Until I found her I bounced around from stylist to stylist without a second thought. But her talent and style hooked me!
I wear my hair super curly (natural), and straight, and her cuts are always flattering to both styles. She is a true professional, an amazing talent, and always fun to talk with! She’s a diamond, and I’m so glad I found her! Definitely book with DUNICA for a stylish and polished look that will get lots of compliments.

Keely is simply the best. Not only does she make each and every visit comfortable and relaxing, she’s great at what she does.
I have brown hair with highlights and have had a really hard time in the past trying to find someone that can can do highlights without going too blonde. Usually the stylist ends up going too blonde and has to put a toner on it making the color, as Keely called it «muddy». Keely nails it every time. Whether I’m going a little lighter for the summer or keeping it a little darker for the winter she gets it perfect every time.
Her haircuts are low maintenance so it doesn’t take a lot if styling to do yourself and they last a really long time. To top it all off she’s really fast at what she does.
Keely has been my stylist for a few years now and no matter where she goes I’m going to follow.

I was placed in one of the worst situations with a women by the name of Michelle who works at this salon. I called at 10am to make an appointment for a groupon a purchased $ 80 for a $ 170 value for a haircut color and highlights. I was looking to do a blonde ombré (pretty much what the value) She said I may be a little more depending on your hair I said that’s fine. I made the appointment for 6 which she was late for and when she came in there was no enthusiasm for having a customer I showed her what I wanted and she said she would normally charge $ 200 for something like that so she was going to charge me $ 150. Do the math that doesn’t add up? So I said that doesn’t make any sense. She told me she wasn’t doing it and that I had to leave and proceeded to hand me my water bottle. So I asked for a manager because I was in shock this completely wasted my time I was trying to get my hair done for my birthday this weekend and she didn’t care as we’ll. I would never recommend this place to a soul. There are 1000 of other places don’t go here. You may have a cute salon in little Italy but your attitude and customer service blow. If you see the groupon for her do yourself a favor and try somewhere else because she will waste your time and one of he rudest people I met. Not to mention she told me the highlights weren’t suppose to be in the groupon. If you don’t want to honor your groupon deals THEN DONT USE IT

MICHELLE is the BEST!
I moved downtown last November and have tried a couple of hairdressers but wasn’t impressed until I had my hair cut and accent highlights done by Michelle Impelluso. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever had my haircut so wonderfully. She definitely takes the time to analyze your hair type, facial features, etc.
I have finally found my hairdresser in Little Italy!

Stephanie rocks! This place has great energy, and everyone there has a great attitude. I asked Stephanie for the 2014 Men’s Top Cut– she performed perfection. Great attention to detail, took her time, gave me great tips on products. I didn’t want to leave the «experience» I got… Gina the owner was there, when she talks, take notes people… She found the secret to youth… and was kind enough to share her secret… A+++++

We came here last night as a group for a bachelorette party–
The ladies did an excellent job with our hair! We have one blow out, up do, clip on extensions put in and styles and one styled. All we awesomely priced! Stephanie did mine and I can absolutely say she is awesome! She even got our names in a guest list at a club —

MICHELLE FOR PRESIDENT! I complimented a friend who has gorgeous hair and she told me M is her secret weapon. I decided to give her a shot, and you’re welcome, since I’m your guinea pig! I called her and she fit me in last-​minute and was very sweet and accommodating in doing so. Then when I was there, she listened to what I wanted and gave me EXACTLY that. What else could I want?
Michelle is super focused on hair health (read: she won’t try to push color on you) and will put the time in to get it absolutely perfect. I found being in her chair totally relaxing and enjoyed watching a professional at work — I’ve never had layers that swing like this! She’s very sweet, but stays focused on her work vs. chatting you up. Anyhow, total thumbs up. The salon is adorable and tucked away in Little Italy. Numerous washes later, my hair still looks awesome (if I may say so myself). Definitely going back!

I got my hair done today by Stephanie and boy what a ride! lol First off I came in with purple hair and I wanted it changed to teal. She told me that she could strip it out and get it there so we got started.
Apparently the stripping process has 3 steps, we got through 1 and 2 and my hair had turned a really pretty bright blue. We figured we’d do the last step and then just add some green and be done. Well, after applying the last step it turned my hair back purple! While we were both amazed and annoyed, Stephanie just kept on going and we did it again. We stripped the color a second time, got the blue back (mostly) and then added the teal on top. It turned out amazing! For some reason my roots didn’t want to take the color, but that’s no fault of Stephanie, my hair is just weird; she offered to fix it for me at a later date (my choice I had places to be).
My hair doesn’t feel fried, and looks incredible. The products she used were gentle but got the job done. The atmosphere is friendly and accommodating, and even though it took nearly 7 hours to do my hair today I left feeling like I’d gained a friend not just a hair stylist. Stephanie truly enjoys what she does and it shows. I don’t live here, I’m just visiting, but if I’m ever in San Diego I’ll only be using her, and I’ll make sure to recommend Gloss The Salon to all of my friends that end up here. :) Thanks guys!
