History

Established in 1992.

After traveling and teaching across the United States and Europe, Keri wanted to put her unique stamp on the Salon Industry. She and her mother, Carol, opened their first Gila Rt Salon in 1992, in the hip neighborhood of Hillcrest, San Diego.

The goal was to create an environment where the staff would flourish and the guests would receive the ‘ultimate salon experience’. By 2004, the salon had established a reputation as one of the most progressive salons in the country. Known for it’s intense focus on Salon Education, over 10,000 happy guests, and an accolade of press; named one of the 200 fastest growing salons in the country by Salon Today magazine, 6 years in a row, we were official.

In 2006, Karla Lopez-​Martinez partnered with Gila Rt Salon to open our second location in the South Bay at Otay Ranch Town Center. We were received with immediate success…

Known as the ‘educator’s educator’ Keri Davis has been in the beauty business for 27 years and has trained with Paul Mitchell, Sassoon and Tigi. As a successful salon owner, she attributes her ability to maintain staff productivity while increasing her client base to a series of hands-​on, easy-​to-​apply systems. Over the past 20 years she has divided her time between extensive travel, teaching seminars, cutting hair, and running her own businesses. As a frequent guest speaker at seminars, hair shows, and training functions, Keri has shared her ideas and concepts with salon owners, educators, and business leaders all over the world. Her latest endeavor: Aveda Business College. She has been an intricate player in the development and teachings of Benchmarking for Success and the latest program, Rituals for Retention.
