Pros: Courteous, one of the few places that repairs Nokia window phones, explains the repair to you and offered to give me a discount for my time (will get into that in the cons)
Cons: You have to walk in or call them to check the progress of their repair/​work.
I dropped off a spare Nokia 1520 to get the screen fixed, guys said they would find the parts on amazon/​ebay and call me by the end of the day, week later no call. So I walked in to see what’s up the guy said he found parts and was about to order it (sure he was) because I had to walk in they offered to cut the labor charge, okay cool save me some lunch money. So the parts got ordered and they said 2weeks at most they would call /​email me when it was ready. 2months later (as I’m typing this) still no call /​email, I guess I could walk in but its the principle of the matter.

Very disappointed this time. I brought in an android mini phone to repair and replace the screen. I was told they didn’t have the part in stock and it would take 3 – 5 days at most before being fixed. I was talked into and agreed to buying a backup phone and then would have to get and adapter for our SIM card. $ 99 for the phone and $ 35 to repair my android. We would get the adapter and phone later that day (Monday). I called didn’t get it. By Wednesday I told them to forget about the buying the backup phone because they still didn’t get the SIM card adapter. By Friday I went to the store to find out the status of my android mini and was told they had called all the local stores but no one has the part to replace the screen and they would have to order it from China! By this point I was livid. I got my android phone back and had to ask for my SIM card because they didn’t give it back with my phone.
During this whole time I think they were more concerned with getting their new store ready than taking care of existing customers :(
I took my android to another phone repair place in Escondido that had 3 screens for our phone! They were friendly and reasonably priced. We got it fixed within the hour! I guess Genius didn’t call and ask them for the part.

I have been using Genius Repair service almost a year. I replaced cracked screen on my I phone four times and recently my daughter’s I pad. These guys are professional and treated me with respect. The orders were done on time and no issues what so ever. The prices were fair.

Was able to walk in there at 4:00 PM on a Friday with a cracked iPhone screen and pick it up at 5:30 the same day with a new screen and battery! Prices are comparable to other shops I called around the Rancho Bernardo/​Escondido area. It’s right off the freeway and it’s easy to get to. The guy I dealt with was nice and friendly. They also have a bunch of cases and other accessories for phones there.

I dropped off my galaxy s6 edge here for repairs. It’s one of the few places I could find willing to work on android, especially the edge.
Here is the timeline :
12⁄6 — Drop off phone and pay deposit. Was told to call in 5 days to check on status.
12⁄15 — Call to check on status. «It’s not here and should be here in a few days, we’ll call you when it comes in»
12⁄18 — Still no phone call so I call the store. «It should be done by the end of today, around 5PM, we’ll call you.
12⁄19 — Still no phone call. I go in person to the store. They opened up 10 minutes late btw. Staff member looks around the store for the phone but it isn’t there. «It’s not here, I gotta call my boss and try to find it for you. I’ll call you later today» No phone call was received.
12⁄20 — I call again. «I dont have an update, but my boss will be in, i’ll call you back.» I do get a call back this time, phone is fixed. Phone is complete according to expectations and an additional 5% off is given for the trouble.
2 stars instead of 1 for the 5% off. But you guys need to organize yourselves and communicate better. You have phone parts lying all over the place and there doesn’t seem to be a solid system for storing completed phones and making contact with costumers.
Thank you for working on my phone, here is some advice.
Use a computer system to track status of the jobs and when costumers need to be contacted based on when they were told they would be contacted would be a good start. Clean up your work stations, there should only be one phone out at a time, when its done, put it back in the box and stored somewhere safe. Keep an asset tag with the phone that gets stored in the aforementioned data base. No, I don’t work with cell phones, but this advice would help anyone running a business, anyone who wants to be organized really.

Came here after the apple store tried to charge me $ 290 for a simple screen repair because my phone was «bent». Cheeyne and Andre were great! Finished the job in half an hour and my phone is as good as new! It was only $ 103! Saved $ 187 thanks to you boys! Call me

Inside the Office Depot mall, hidden in the corner. Came in for a broken Iphone screen. 90min and $ 95 later phone is good as new. Service is quick and professional. Not the cheapest place, but it was closest place to me and I didn’t have much time to shop around. It was right before Thanksgiving and I was leaving town the next day. They do guarantee the work for 60 days. I found a problem with the Home button a week later and they fixed it up free of charge. Stand up guys. Tip: Groupon for coupons.

Today (Sunday at 2 p.m.) I converted the slight cracked screen in the lower right on my iPhone 6 to completely shattered … you can feel the cracks making to not very usable … darn it! Since it’s a Sunday I’m thinking who is going to be open and how much is this going to cost? I need this phone up & running for a long work day tomorrow. Did some Unilocal Reviewing, called a few places, discovered they all are about the same pricing. Genius Repair is closest to where I live so thought give it a shot. Remember it’s a Sunday afternoon after a long Thanksgiving weekend so not sure who feels like working … didn’t expect super customer service greetings as my phone to the place was ok no warm & fuzzy. My in person to the store was about the same as I had on the phone even had to walk into the back to ask for help as no one was in the front. It’s ok. The young technician (there were 2 technicians and they were busy) got up from the work bench, looked at my phone, let me know we can fix it today just need a couple of hours. When I came back was greeted by a 3rd person who was more a manager type as he was in tune to great customer service. He asked my name, went back to get my phone, had me confirm it was working good, then reviewed the warranty with me and their savings program for repeat customers. This place was very good. Again remember this was afternoon on a Sunday and they got me taken care of in a couple of hours. Thumbs up!

Ok so lets start with pros cause I don’t have many. If there is one thing I can give them is that the service was fairly quick. I came in with a shattered iphone 5s screen and they had it fixed within 30 min. Also they offer a coupon. Thats about it.
But cons. First of all I thought the customer service was terrible. Not very friendly, a little rude, definitely wouldn’t come back. I called back a couple minutes after dropping off my phone to ask a question about getting something else on my phone fixed and the guy said «I don’t know what phone your talking about we get a lot of phones, even though I already mentioned my name and that I had just been there. Didn’t really sound like this dude wanted to help at all so I just said ok and that I changed my mind.
When I got my phone back I tested it out to see if anything was wrong and I found that my fingerprint recognition wasn’t working so I went back in and told him. He said that «it happens a lot» «its probably just a software issue and that there is nothing they could do.» Also only realized later that my vibrate no longer works at all so if I get any phone calls or texts while on silent I won’t be able to know unless I’m staring at my phone 24⁄7 and theres a piece of hair now under my screen.
So long story short pretty disappointed. But hey some people have given this place good reviews so try at your own risk.

My screen cracked and then I sat on it and the screen turned black and started calling random people and a bunch of other crazy stuff. I called up and they said to bring it and and they replaced my screen and LCD within an hour. Cool people that got my phone and business back on track! Thanks guys

Not only are they courteous, professional, and do great work, they were willing to do a speedy rush job for me while I was on shift, so I wouldn’t be stuck without a phone if I had to take off. Originally quoted me 1 hour labor time — got it done in about 15 minutes.
To top it off, lowest price quote of any place I’d researched. My screen was shattered: half the display had completely shut down and the other half flickered and frozen relentlessly. Now it works like new. Saved my phone from the dumpster.
Only complaint: really hard to find the place. No sign at all from Penasquitos drive. If you didn’t already know it was there, you might never discover it. It’s in the same parking lot as the 7 – 11 tucked on the backside of the building. But certainly worth the time to find.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE !
These people are a bunch of absolute idiots, and not only are they incompetent,
they will have you leave your iphone in way WORSE condition then when you walked in.
If I could give it zero stars I would.
All the positive reviews of this place have GOT TO BE MADE BY EMPLOYEES.
Read the negative reviews… they all have the same problem or theme…
You bring your perfectly working iphone in to get a new screen.
You are told to come back in an hour.
An hour later, they say they need another 15 minutes.
Half an hour later, they need yet another 15 minutes.
An hour later, they still need 30 minutes.
THEN they give you your phone back and say there is water damage.
HUH ???
There was NO water damage to the phone when I brought it in.
It worked perfectly.
But now it wont even turn on.
Guess someone spilled there water bottle on my phone?
And my friend dropped her phone off at the same time for a new screen.
$ 100 and 5 hours later, she has a new screen, but now her phone wont turn on either.
WTH ???
Save yourself a HUGE headache and go elsewhere.
Read the other negative reviews and ask yourself if the positive ones make sense, or they are just too over the top to be realistic when a lot of other people have had horrible experiences with these clowns.

Excellent and speedy service!
The screen on my brand new Samsung S6 completely shuttered and there are not that many places in SD that replace screens for other mobile phones. it’s very Iphone dominated market. I found Genius Repair thanks to Unilocal and couldn’t be more happier with the result and the quality of work done. They had the screen in stock and had the right color. The replacement took a little more then an hour. There is a 60 day warranty that comes with the repair.
The primary reason that I chose to take it to Genius Repair vs mailing my device directly to Samsung is same day turnaround and they don’t wipe out/​reflash your phone.
With Samsung it will take up to 2 weeks and the phone will get reflashed to it’s factory settings and you will loose all your data.

I must have dropped my phone one too many times because a grey vertical line suddenly appeared on the left side of my phone one day. I could no longer press any buttons on the left side… this meant no more accessing numbers, some of the letters, etc.
I found this place through Unilocal and brought my phone in on a Monday around 11:40AM. I told the guy my problem, dropped my phone off, grabbed some food at the nearby Jack in the Box and then headed back over around 12:20PM. My phone was ready and everything seemed like it was working fine. I could access the left side of my phone now!
A few days later, I realized that my rear facing camera (the main one) was not working. I could only get the front facing one to work, aka I can now only do selfies haha. I brought it back on Saturday and talked to a different person. He knew exactly what the problem was and fixed it in less than 10 minutes. I guess it was some loose wiring thing from when they had fixed my phone earlier.
I would have given a full 5 stars had I not had to come back a second time.

This place has the worse customer service. We had an iPad that was dropped off for repair and after a dozen phone calls and emails over a month has gone by. We show up to get our broken property and they can even find it. As far as I know they used it for parts to repair someone else’s iPad. After waiting with no confidence they were even giving me my iPad I left before saying something I would regret in hopes to come back after I cooled off.
Seriously having a bunch of irresponsible college kids run a technology repair shop may have been my bad for considering they may act like professionals. I would not recommend using this company, it’s a risk considering how unprofessional they handled a piece of equipment that cost 700 at purchase price
