I came to computer pros after I paid $ 80 to a guy that was recommended by a friend at the gym. He basically told me that my hard drive was shot and that if I wanted to recover the data I would have to go to some forensic data recovery place that would charge me an arm and a leg to even take a look at my hard drive. I saw the reviews on Unilocal and took it to computer pros to see if they could do something about it. I actually brought my other computer because of s screen in to see if they can repair it. Although there was so snafu (the screen that was shipped to them was the wrong one), they replaced my computer screen once the correct one came in and my data from my old hard drive was transferred to my new computer. Their prices are very reasonable since I still have my arm and my leg. I would recommend them to all my friends and will give their card to the friend from the gym because his IT guy was a waste of time and money.

Marc took my wife’s HP notebook into his shop to reconnect the power switch. This machine is 3 or more years old, so he kept the cost of repair down to be consistent with its cash value, although I would have liked it to be cheaper. Probably, I should have taken the machine to a shop that could have charged more consistently with the needed repair.
The repair was completed within 7d, during a busy time for them. I plan to take my next pc repair to Fortress, especially a difficult one.

I can’t even imagine how I’d manage without Fortress Computer Pros. I have a home office full of equipment that I know how to use IF — and only if — everything is running smoothly. When it’s being temperamental, I call Fortress and one of their technicians takes over my computer and remotely solves the problem. This is so much easier than waiting for someone to make a service call or hauling all my stuff up to Rancho Bernardo from the beach area.
James Nestor of Fortress built my computer so that I could have a machine perfectly suited for my needs, and I really love it.
As others have said, it’s great that they are open Saturday (although shorter hours) and everyone is easy to deal with and honest. They also have enough staff that when things need to be fixed in-​house, it happens pretty quickly.

I recently stripped a T5 screw on my laptop and could not find a way to remove the screw without doing some major damage to the laptop case. Found this shop near where I lived and decided to give it a try to see if they could do anything. The gentleman came out of the office to ask how they could assist me and I explained the situation. He politely asked if he could take my laptop to show his technician. I had no problem with it and waited a few minutes. He returned with the laptop and said that they removed the screw and replaced it with a regular Phillips screw for me. I asked if they would charge for this service and he said no. Very nice fellow too. This place can easily be my to-​go shop for any of my computer troubleshooting issues that I cannot solve myself in the future! Yes, I would recommend it to others who needs computer repair service.

I gave Fortress my Win8 laptop to do a few mods — install Win7 and replace HD with SSD. They do fast quality work. Will be back.

I called asking if I could purchase standoffs from them, for my Linux Box, because the fellow who sold me the asus motherboard on ebay didn’t include them and they told me I could come in and take some for free.
I came in had a lovely chat with one of the associates and he gave me the package and I was on my way.

I tried installing a high-​powered graphics card (GTX 660) in my desktop, but ran into problems and wouldn’t start up correctly so went into Fortress Computer pros after seeing their high ratings on Unilocal.The diagnostics price was $ 59.99, which is a few dollars more than other places, which i’ll get into later, but let me just quickly say you get what you pay for, and this place was awesome.
The guy at the front desk (I think his name is Marc, might be the owner) was an awesome guy. Let me just say that iv’e been to other Pc repair shops and my experience has been that they always try to nickel and dime you (my brother recently went into a place in Mira Mar) or always trying to get a little extra from you, which I absolutely hate. This place was not like that at all. You get a feeling that this is just an honest business, no shenanigans whatsoever, I was very impressed
Initially they said that the graphics card was too strong for the motherboard (not sure what model but my pc is an acer aspire). I had already upgraded the PSU (power supply unit), so I knew it couldn’t have been that. They were able to boot it up and tell me what was wrong with with (the cpu was out of place which I did when I was putting in the card myself). They fixed this and got the PC working again. When I went in, Marc suggested that they try another grpahics card, to make sure it was the motherboard. Turns out that the660 series wasn’t initially compatible with windows 8, but they were able to change something (I forgot exactly what they did) and got it working on my PC, I was super stoked. All I had to pay was the $ 60, which I felt other places might have charged more for the extra work
Most places will probably charge $ 40 -$ 60 for diagnostics, so it isn’t that expensive. But these guys are legit, do good work, and aren’t going to try to swindle you for $. If you have a computer problem, trust me, go to them. They will do everything in their power to make sure your computer I show you like it, at good prices as well. If you want quality work (which they explain to you in detail what was the problem and what they did to fix it, which is a plus) at fair prices and just an overall good experience, go to them, you willnot regret it. I WILL be going back to them for sure if I ever run into another computer program, and would recommend them to anyone and everyone. If you go to them i guarantee you will be giving them 5 stars on Unilocal when you leave. I never do these Unilocal reviews because I haven’t been to many businesses where they just excell, but here I am, I was that impressed. I even signed up for this just to leave them a good review.
The technician, after he was done explaining to me what they did and how, even asked what games I played (seeing the high-​powered graphics card) and we talked about that for a little bit. Don’t bother trying to go to other places to save a few dollars, computers are big investments so take it to them. They won’t let you leave unless you are happy with everything. I’d give them more stars if I could.

Fortress Computer Pros assisted me with updating my Microsoft Outlook and moving my contacts and calendars and a business and personal email account to feed into one location using Microsoft Exchange 365. They listened to what I wanted and found a solution that would work. They spoke in a language I could understand. I would highly recommend Fortress Computer Pros to anyone wanting well skilled, highly professional service on computer, tablet and phone.
They made my PC and my Apple equipment seamlessly (to me) speak!

So happy I found this place. It will be my new computer spot. I tried them because they were open on a Saturday. Bonus when you are in a jam. You would be surprised how many of these type of places are closed on Saturday and Sunday. The owner himself greeted me on a Saturday. He is a super nice guy, Marc, he was thorough and took his time explaining the process. They weren’t able to fix my laptop with out having to reset it, but I recently backed my data up so. Oh yeah! I have learnt that lesson already before.
I was called by Fortress every step of the way as problems were discovered. I was given correct time frames, and excellent follow up. The prices are reasonable. Parking is plentiful. Unfortunately, I have been to several computer places in the past. They can be run down, depressing and dingy. But Fortress is clean with a cool, classy, modern logo for customers to take in which feels fresh. I am a satisfied customer and will be back.; Umm… hopefully not to soon though.

I went in to have the virus removed from my computer without losing all my other data. Good service, very knowledgeable people. I thought there was something wrong with my printer but one look and it turns out all it needed was color cartridge!
My only concern was that I was told I’d get a call in 7 days but it took 10. I used the Unilocal coupon for a little discount and I’m happy with the result.

I can’t say enough good things about Fortress. This is your typical family run business. The Jobins are top notch people and Mark, the owner, should be very proud of his sons who work there. Fortress is a great business run by great people. The staff is great, their shop is super tidy and THEY COME TO YOU! How could things get better than that?

I’m pretty familiar with most problems on my computer or others, but when a combination of a bad virus and my girlfriends cat caused my laptop to not bootup without having to reformat I found fortress comp pros. I must say that they solved the issue in about a week and a half (due to high business volume), and were very friendly.
My only complaint is I asked them to clean underneath all the keys, and when I came to pick it up they hadn’t even wiped it down. When I told the guy at the front it had not been done he took it in the back and used an air blowing unit. Not exactly taking the keys off and performing a thorough cleaning, but hey my comp works again. Well worth $ 125.

Nice bunch of folks. Honest and straightforward. Reasonably priced. Second time I’ve used them. First time they fixed one problem and another cropped up soon after the original repair. The immediately re-​diagnosed (at no charge) promptly discovered the problem and acknowledged that it was too expensive a repair. Why I came back again? They actually refunded the $$ I spent for a hard drive (which I DID need for the original repair) even though it was already installed. Doesn’t get much better than that, now does it?
