History

Established in 2006.

Learning to fly has been a dream of mine since I took my first flight at age 12. Originally, I planned to fly a Corporate jet for someone rich and famous, but life has a funny way of changing your plans. After a year of flight instruction to build hours, I realized teaching people to fly had become my passion. Seeing people accomplish their dreams of becoming a pilot, and sharing aviation with others, has proved to be much more rewarding than flying around a bossy rich guy! At Fly San Diego, we strive to ensure each student becomes a skilled, safe and confident pilot, while of course having lots of fun!

My name is Jamie, and I moved to San Diego more than 8 years ago from northern Idaho to pursue a career in aviation.

I will always remember my first flight when I was only 12, flying up the Pend ‘Oreille River and landing at a private airport on the Pend ‘Oreille Lake. I saw my house and hometown from the air for the first time, and it opened my world to the endless possibilities that flying could offer. After that day, flying was stuck in my head and I had officially «caught the flying bug».
