Flavaful Yogurt

$ 6.00 for an iced coffee? I try to support small mom and pop shops but that’s just robbery especially when they fill it to the brim with ice. Ok… To be fair it is delicious coffee. But $ 6? And here I thought Starbucks was overpriced.

Banh mi a bit pricey but good quality overall. The banh mi here uses the traditional bread (short bread) and while most banh mi places in SD uses the french bread. Lots of meat.

I gave this place a few shots because I live nearby and was not really impressed. The employees are always busy talking and take forever to acknowledge my presence so I feel like I am interrupting when I am trying to order. I’ve only tried their boba drinks and they are very watered down and overpriced. You are paying for a large cup of water, ice, and Boba. I literally went home, made my own smoothie and transferred the Boba balls into it…3 times. I give up. I’d rather drive up to Kearny Mesa.

Small little shop … Was kinda thrown off with their business concept. They have Sandwiches, Boba, Fill up water thing and a wall full of hair products??? Only came here because the line was too long at rite aid to get an ice cream. Got a boba that was 6 bucks … Super expensive. The boba was fresh but the drink was too way too sweet…

It’s weird that prices are not posted. They’re steep. It’s $ 4 for large milk tea (no boba). I will say that their milk tea is quite tasty. You can get a Thai tea for $ 2.50 at phở shops in the same plaza… their boba isn’t always fresh. They should really bring the prices down.
89 cents for a canned soda. Not THAT bad.
Water is 29 cents a gallon. The worker will quickly rinse out your water bottles and it’s quicker than going to water machines because they have many fast-​pouring spouts. They also provide a cart to load water on and bring to your car where a parking spot is reserved in the front just for people getting water.

I might’ve found my new favorite place to get banh mis. Thank you cashier at Thuan Phat for this recommendation. Bread was toasted. There was no lacking of meat or veggies here. I would take away a star because they got my order wrong, but the sandwiches were pretty good. It had the mayo/​butter spread and each bite had a little bit of everything. Even the last bite was meaty! :) Service was nice too. I am definitely coming back here. I ordered their grill pork and pork loaf sandwiches. Both were very good. If they didn’t mess up my order I would’ve been able to say something about their grilled chicken sandwich too. Prices are $ 3-​$ 4 per sandwich.

I saw that this was about the one place in San Diego that has anything Durian. I came specifically for that and ended up getting a durian, taro, and avocado smoothie. Taro was probably my favorite, then avocado (which i now make at home) and then durian. Honestly, not a fan of the durian. The prices were a little more than i thought they would be, but I gotta give the place props because the guy was friendly, and they serve some exotic flavors you won’t find anywhere nearby.
It’s definitely a place to go if you want a safe way to work your way into some crazy international flavors!
Now I just gotta find somewhere that sells betel nuts…

Must’ve been the owner’s daughter who suggested this shake — it was absolutely disgusting and when I said I didn’t like it, she got her daddy and he told me it was an «acquired» taste. When I explained it wasn’t what I expected, that I took her advice, he told me it was the most expensive fruit, and they get it for so-​and-​so amount of money, I said I still didn’t like it, and HAD TO ASK IF I CAN GET SOMETHING ELSE (Instead of OFFERING to get me something else like a REAL business person), he said… wait for it… NO.
What the hell? I just paid a fortune on a shake in YOUR business that your daughter suggested I get, that I COULDN’T STOMACH CUZ IT TASTED WORSE THAN ASS and you won’t let me get something else???
…Let me say this again… I just paid you a ton of money for one little stupid smoothie that tastes like shit and you’re going to KEEP MY MONEY and not even TRY to console me with anything else to keep me coming back?! You’re just going to KEEP MY MONEY and let me walk out of here empty handed? (Yup, I was pissed.)

…Oh, and my son’s yogurt? I about fell over when he put it on the scale and they told me the price… my baby is a little 5 year old boy who eats like a bird. I should’ve walked out then and saved it for his college fund.
If I can give this place NEGATIVE STARS I would! I was getting my hair done next door and wanted to get my son some ice cream. WHAT THE HELL is this yogurt made of, GOLD?! YES! TO THE OWNER!!! I have a news flash for you, mister, your shi* ain’t all that and a bag of tricks!!! I walked in and the only one in there at the time was a young girl (12, maybe?) on her ipad…(start of a horrible, stupid joke, right?) There was no «hello» or «hi» or utter of ANYTHING cheery or helpful… I thought she was a lone, miserable customer, but she wasn’t. She was the help, but she was only helpful with taking my money…
Come on, now, I’m asian too (although that shouldn’t matter), and you’re gonna do me dirty like that?

Dang$ 4.00 for a Boba!!!
I guess it is a larger size but they didn’t put alot of Boba in it. The Thai tea is pretty flavorful and isn’t too sweet but I think next time im gonna just go to K sandwiches down the street.
Why didn’t they have prices up?!!

Froyo, boba and… H2O? hey, its works right? I live in the area and often pass by this place while I’m doing laundry around the corner but I never go in the store. Most of the time, when I want boba or froyo, its after dinner; however this place is always closed at that time. Finally, I got my chance to check out Flavaful Yogurt the other day. I forgot to buy water and quickly remembered this place as I was omw home.
The water here tastes pretty good. Yeah, it tastes like nothing and that’s exactly how I like my water… Flavaless. They sell water at 29cents a gallon which is pretty good. Try finding this quality of water elsewhere in the area; not gonna happen. They have 3 monster water tanks visible to their customers as well as their heavy-​duty filtering system. After coming here, the water from those vending machines outside the grocery stores just don’t cut it anymore.
While I was there, I had to try the yogurt. My GF and I loved it. They have many flavors we both enjoy. My fav was the taro. Their toppings are a bit limited and catered to the Asian community; though I was happy for this because my GF and I are Asian. Hey, don’t forget we’re in Linda Vista next to two phở restaurants and the ex-​vien donger :) Nevertheless, the yogurt is yummy here.
The only two complaints I have is that they are not open past 7pm, even on weekends. Also, they didn’t have mochi bites as a yogurt topping. I’m hoping they just ran out temporarily.

Really nothing to expand on all the previous reviews — work in the area and just discovered this gem! Love the fact that they have «exotic» flavors.

Great yogurt and smoothies here. The taro is very good — some of my fave taro yogurt ever. And honeydew — wow, how unexpectedly delicious! One of my fave froyo flavors, period. But all of the yogurt is good if you ask me — even the durian!
And the smoothies are great, my faves there being the taro and the avocado. Simply delicious. I will need to try one of those durian milkshakes sometime soon.

I parked my car infront of the Flavaful Yogurt to get grandmas meds at Rite Aid and noticed that the Vietnamese French sandwich place is now a Yogurt and water filling station, a huge sign on the glass window «HOT ESPRESSO COFFEE» okay, I should try the ESPRESSO since I didn’t have caffeine this morning. The owner’s name is Tim, so I asked about the espresso coffee — he replied «it is good and no complaints yet about the coffee. I said, great glad to hear that; can I order a cup please, as he was fixing my coffee, I was checking out their yogurt machines and their featured flavors; strawberry, lychee, durian and blueberry; I did not try their yogurt here.
Well, I am reviewing the ESPRESSO COFFEE not the yogurt.
My 5 star rating system:
minus one star — no espresso machine on-​sight
minus two star — the coffee was pre-​made in a thermos from home.
minus two star — he heated my ESPRESSO coffee in the microwave –NOT COOL and the taste was blahhhhhhhhh! my squadron coffee mess for .25 cents is way better.
You don’t get a STAR to be honest = ZERO!

Oh, no! Not another froyo review!
No worries. This time it’s not about the yogurt. In two words — durian milkshake.
Place is clean. Staff is friendly. They offer a small choice of milkshakes and boba drinks, for you to choose from. But, if you happen to be looking for froyo, there are 16 yogurt flavors and 30+ toppings to choose from. It’s the average 38 cents an ounce. An extra plus? Durian yogurt, which I’d be willing to try.
But, I wasn’t here for the yogurt. Flavaful Yogurt is now my go-​to place for my 8-​year addiction to durian milkshakes. It’s just creamy durian goodness. My advice, if you want to try the essence of durian, without having to eat the über smelly fruit, try it as a milkshake. If the sweet oniony after taste doesn’t put you off, you might actually like the fruit. Or, not.
I heart durian milkshake; therefore, I heart Flavaful Yogurt.
The one downside to this is the fact that it’s next to an often super crowded Asian market. So, drivers… beware! Thems crazy people driving around there.

The first thing that caught my eye was the durian flavored frozen yogurt. no other place has it! even if you don’t like the durian fruit you have to try this frozen yogurt flavor!
hawaiin coconut was also really good. and cantaloupe was out, but i’m definitely going back there to try it soon!
and the raspberries were so fresh and so good! not frozen!
