History
Established in 1962.
Featheringill Mortuary was founded in 1962 by Wallace and Marjorie Featheringill and his father Walter who had been employed in funeral service since coming to San Diego in 1912. Being a family owned mortuary allows us to serve families in the way they wish to be served and results in a close personal service and a great financial savings to the family.
Our staff is a group of people dedicated to serving. You may express your thoughts and they will be respected and given every consideration by our counselors. We want to fulfill all your needs, always considering your financial requirements.
We currently have 3 generations of the Featheringill family working at our mortuary. We own and operate our own crematory as well. This allows us to provide quality personal cremation services in addition to Burial Services.
Meet the Business Owner
Wally F.
Business Owner
Mr. Featheringill grew up downtown above Johnson-Saum Mortuary, where his father was the embalmer. He attended San Diego High School and went on to graduate from San Diego State with his degree in business. After working in the banking industry for a few years he followed in his fathers footsteps and went into the funeral industry. He became manager of Lewis Colonial Mortuary and then opened Featheringill Mortuary in 1962.
After more than 60 years in the industry he still owns Featheringill Mortuary and is happy to have his daughter (Teri Featheringill) and two grandsons (Kori & Kyle Truesdale) working with him and carrying on the Featheringill Tradition.
