Farmer’s Market & Liquor

I’ve lived in the area for over 8 years and found myself here several times. Yes the guys here are very nice and friendly. Sadly every time I come to this place and make a purchase, somehow I always walk away feeling like I paid way too much and the quality of what I bought was poor and outdated. I say to myself «I am not coming back to this place anymore.» But because of the convenience of location and hours, I find myself still showing up here because of some emergency need of something.
It is a family owned establishment and prices are higher than other places. Things seem to sit on the shelves a long time and my experiences are as follows: Bought a «Whatchamacallit» chocolate bar, got home peeled back the wrapper and low and behold the candy bar was so old that the chocolate bar was white. Threw it away and didn’t want to go back up the hill to complain. No more chocolate bars from here. Bought a pack of smokes and of course they were overprice by fifty cents. Another caveat is if you make a purchase under ten bucks they charge you fifty cents if you use your credit/​debit card. So that pack I bought was now a dollar over priced. Of course the pack I got was stale.
Bought a case of beer last night and was not surprised to find that the case was bottled back in Sept 2015. Also this case was overpriced by five dollars out the door. Tax and CRV on top of the price I was told did not add up. I’m no math expert but the numbers they have already programmed in their cash register is incorrect. It always seems that the register that they are using has these magical numbers that you can’t see when they are totaling up. All you see is the item price then the total jump after they add in their «Tax & CRV»
And still, what I have left from that case of beer has a stale and flat taste. I am forced to drink each bottle with a reminder to never come back to this place again. This place could be better if they priced things reasonably and had fresh items. But now I’ll be walking 3 blocks up to the 7 Eleven or Crisp from now on.

Not a bad local liquor store, and the fact that they are open late during the week, and even later on the weekends makes this an ideal place for some late night beer and snack runs!
The prices are averages, and the prices on beer are about what you would pay at any liquor store really, but hey at least it’s a bit cheaper than 7 – 11 in general. They have everything from cold medicine, snacks, a few household items you might need, and beer, liquor, soda, energy drinks, and of course water.
I literally live a block away from it, and I love the fact that whenever I have a snack attack or a drinking night. I can run, walk, or stumble myself up the hill and back down the hill to my place in one piece.

Yikes! Friendly cashier, clean store, decent beer selection but extremely over priced. This place should be a plan b or even c if you need something and you’re just entirely too drunk or sick to walk somewhere else.
I understand sometimes you pay for convenience but frankly, it would’ve been much more convenient to walk my lazy ass a few blocks further in damn near any other direction. Not impressed. They’re priced like it’s the only liquor store for miles when there’s a 7 – 11 a couple blocks away.
UPDATE: Dammit! Here I am again. I have to update because while I still feel this place is over priced, I keep coming here cause it’s so convenient and they really do have a nice beer selection. I’ve given two stars because truly, «meh, I’ve experienced better» but apparently, «ekk! me thinks not» was a little harsh.

Quick, convenient… The owner/​cashier is always friendly and helpful. Not sure if the other reviewer has the right place (there’s a similarly named store up the street) — I’ve been stopping here regularly for snacks, energy drinks, etc., for a few years now, and never experienced anything shady.

Pay attention to what you’re paying for here! The cashier is shady and rings you up multiple times for items — has happened on several visits already.
