Erbhandyman Service

Had a long list of tasks/to-do’s, so I called Erbhandyman, and sure enough Jeff came to my rescue and was able to accomplish everything in one day. Both Jon and Jeff were genuinely friendly, yet still professional, but most of all the work that was done looks fantastic. Thank you Jeff!

This was so easy. These guys put up my new security door in a snap. Just awesome!

I just bought a new home and had some missing drywall at the base of my laundry room that I wanted to get repaired. He sent his drywall guy over, Clyde, who worked very hard to fix our problem. When we were given the keys to our new house, we found that the disconnected washing machine hoses were leaking into the outlet box. Clyde found that there was a crack in it and it was causing more water damage in the wall than we could originally see and sent me to Home Depot to get a new outlet box. Clyde was over at our place for 6 hours and installed the new box and worked very hard, which we greatly appreciate.
The only issue we had was that the outlet box was not installed correctly, and the drain was not properly connected and the faucets were about ½″ too high. You could see directly into the wall in all 3 holes and could see drywall. If any water ever leaked in here, it would go into the wall much faster than a small crack. Here’s a picture:

We let Jon know Sunday evening and Clyde came over first thing Monday morning. He placed a foam insert and some silicon around it, and while still not actually done correctly, it was better than having gaping holes in the outlet box. The other issue was that I was quoted $ 50/​hr and charged $ 65/​hr when I was given the bill at the end of the day. I would have been okay paying $ 65/​hr but it’s the surprise increase at the end that seems to be all too common from what I’m learning as a new homeowner with lots of projects.
I would have taken one more star off for those issues but I needed Jon’s advice again. I contacted him about our washing machine being about ½″ too large to fit in the room and he called me right away. He was incredibly helpful and offered to walk me through what I needed to do to score the existing door molding stops and remove them. He offered to help me the next morning if I needed it, but it turns out I was able to score the paint and remove it with a putty knife. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Erbhandyman Service, I plan on continuing to use them again, even though a few things could have been done better with the washing machine outlet box.

The owner, Jon, fixed the door on our commercial building. He was responsive, performed quality work, knowledgeable, and efficient. I recommend him as a handyman and plan to use his services again in the future.

Called Erbhandyman Service on Tuesday and spoke to John and he had James come to my home the very next day! So pleased with this contractor’s knowledge and attention to detail. You will not be disappointed with this business! I have additional home repairs that I plan on having completed and will definitely be hiring them again!

We called John Erb and he sent out Jeff Reiner to fix our cedar deck. Jeff not only fixed our 51 year old deck but made some suggestions to give it a different look. The deck not only looks like new it has a completely new look that is incredible. This is the second job Jeff has done for us. Both were completed in a prompt, professional manner. We have an older, custom home that unfortunately requires frequent attention. We are thankful we have a nice relationship with Erbhandyman Service and Jeff Reiner.

We had a plumbing leak that resulted in damage to our laundry room ceiling. After our plumber repaired the leak and the electrician upgraded the ceiling light fixtures, it was time to replace the damaged ceiling. We had a highly rated and recommended dry wall company scheduled to do the work, but that guy twice canceled on us at the last minute.
I remembered the good referrals neighbors gave Erbhandyman Service on Next Door. I called on Monday, Feb 15 President’s Day. Within the hour, John called me back, very professional and scheduled his drywall\painter specialist to come out the next morning.
15 minutes before the scheduled appointment time, Clyde Fernandez arrived pleasant and ready to work. His work was carefully executed and seamless. Ceiling looks perfect! He was respectful of our property and did a good job of cleaning up after his work. True professional. The price was very reasonable, and the invoice specifically documents the scope of the work.
We will definitely have Erbhandyman Service back out here again. I have worked as a homeowner insurance underwriter and inspector, so I can be very critical and difficult to please. Erbhandyman Service does excellent work, AND they are respectful gentlemen.

Called John up with a variety of house issues we had been putting off fixing, and he quickly sent one of his guys over. Pricing was very fair, and almost everything got fixed right off the bat. Then John himself drove over the same day to follow up and fix the one remaining electrical problem we were having. Great experience and we will definitely use them again.

Jeff came out to our house to review some issues we were having with leaking through external doors. He described the situation and provided us with different potential solutions to fix the problem. Thank you!

Im sure under circumstances where no external issues come up, these guys are great. Unfortunately like literally every other contractor I’ve dealt with in San Diego, if any extenuating circumstances arise, or any slightly complex dilemma presents itself, they were unable to handle it.
I had to wait 2 weeks for my closet doors to be picked up. I told them the last day was Feb 2 and Home Depot was sending them back. So he scheduled me for Feb 1. Leaving zero room for error or problems. Bad idea number 1. Of course Jan 31 was the huge wind storm, and of course one of the contractors had a tree fall on his house.
Inclement weather happens sometimes. As a business owner you have to improvise. Their idea of improvising was to show up at Home Depot and then call me to tell me they were short a man, and I was going to have to come haul the materials with them.
I have a job. Im wearing formal work clothes. I’ve waited 2 weeks for this install, and my doors are getting sent back to the manufacturer tomorrow. And I’m getting a call saying they want me to come do the work with them.
Knowing that today is the last possible day, I would’ve expected some extra effort to find a buddy or source another helper to get the doors here and get them installed. It’s not appropriate to tell a paying customer to «come help». Now my doors are getting sent back, and I get to wait another 3 weeks minimum to have the install done.
Sorry for the 1 star review Jon. I know you work hard for good reviews. But try to see it from my end. Long ass wait, and now I have to start all over.

Been using John’s handyman services for a couple years now on multiple occasions. Always does a superb job and consistently goes above and beyond. For those who gave a nasty review due to lack of follow up, I am fairly certain John’s family faced something severe towards the end of 2015. Have some compassion. If he wasn’t able to respond to you, you can’t really give him a review at all. Unilocal reviews are ridiculous sometimes and so mean! John, if you read this… hope all is well with you and yours!

These guys came by and helped out with some small electrical work which actually went well. Since then they have completely failed to respond to calls, text messages about follow up work. Disappointed and will not use or recommend.

John scheduled Jeff to come and fix our main entry door that had become difficult to open and close. Jeff was excellent to work with and did an excellent job. He even showed up early. They are now our go-​to for home repairs.

I recently had John out to remove security bars on my home. John was by far the best communicator I’ve seen in a handyman. He even came out and did the work himself because he was the only one that really knew how to do it properly. He was very upfront with pricing, when he would be here, etc. Then HE SHOWED UP ON TIME! You wouldn’t think that’s a big deal, but in construction it’s everything. John does what he says he will do, and is a honest person. He even hauled away some extra wood debris for me as he was already going to the dump. I will definitely be using his talents in the future.

Awesome group of guys. They turned a ugly wall into a masterpiece. Had a bunch of different pictures and frames of numerous sizes that i wanted put on the wall. Obviously, I am not good with a hammer, nails, or even a ruler for that matter so I needed some help. They showed up on time, dressed professionally, very respectful, took his shoes off without even asking and everything. The price was perfect and job was awesome and looked amazing. As most of you know trying to find a decent contractor to work on smaller projects means paying exorbitant prices. I wanted to install a patio door. I first tried Homedepot installers. Homedepot wanted me to pay almost three times the cost to install a stock door that according to Homedepot I would have to customize which doubled the cost of the door.
I then decided to just get the door, but have someone else install. I used HomeAdvisor to find a door installer. The guy I choose came out measured, said he doesn’t order doors from Homedepot (which is where I was getting my door since they had what I wanted at the right price). He also said I would receive a quote in 3 – 5 days, and never, I mean never called back, really?
Luckily I didn’t hold my breath waiting for his call. Instead I chose to employ Erbhandyman services for my patio door install. Erb Handyman services installed the same stock door at no addition cost, other than their hourly rate and the cost of any additional materials.
When it was over I spoke with James about some additional projects, which I will be following up on within the next couple of weeks.
All I can say as a condo homeowner, this business phone number is a permanent fixture in my contact list. I am also referring them to a friend of mine who wants work done on her floors.

I’ve gone to Erbhandyman 3 times in the last year and a half to get some work done. They were much easier to reach out to a year ago before they got inundated with all the positive Unilocal reviews. Bill has always been courteous, professional, and friendly. I’d recommend them to anyone. Just be prepared to set up a weekday appointment at least a week in advance. Weekends are impossible to book. They can be hard to reach but that’s what happens when businesses get good Unilocal reviews.

I had submitted a message for a quote online and John got back to me right away via phone. He was nice enough to get back to me very quickly and let me know he wouldn’t be able to get me the quote until the next week because of how busy he is; this would be fine in most cases. Due to capital budget I needed it this week. I should have been getting quotes a few weeks back, then this wouldn’t have been an issue.
I would definitely look into using this company in the future! There is a reason why they are in demand and have 5 stars.

Jon’s skill and good cheer are such a plus. Yes I have relatives who could help me (I’m 75) but they can’t because:
1. They r so, so busy and/​or 2. They haven’t a clue.
