Epicurean San Diego

I highly recommend everyone participate on all of the tours Epicurean San Diego offers! The tour I participated in took us to Café Virtuoso, Suzies Farm, lunch by K-​Pasta, and San Pasqual Winery. It was the best day because it was not only very informative but also fun and well organized. Stephanie made planning our tour super easy and she was a joy to spend the day with! Can’t wait to sign up for my next tour!

I had the difficult and stressful job to plan an outing for our leadership team that would be different than a normal outing activity or just dinner as a group. Lucky me, I came across a flyer for Epicurean Tours which was the perfect fit. Stephanie was absolutely amazing to work with for our private tour and our group had SO MUCH fun! Our group of 30 is still talking about how much fun they had and what a great experience it was. Thank you Stephanie for an incredible tour of our San Diego! We visited Suzie’s farm which was so beautiful, informative and delicious, then we went to Café Virtuoso and learned about coffee roasting and tasting. The finale was an incredible tasting and tour experience at Old Harbor Distillery. Amazing local businesses that we were so happy to learn about and will continue to support. Thank you Stephanie for everything!

Went on the beer geek tour on ¹¹⁄₁₄. Stephanie was an amazing guide and the tour was enjoyably educational. Having the opportunity to walk around stone farms with a pint of their milk stout and fresh mint from the farm sprinkled in was a treat to say the least. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a window into the core of what is San Diego’s craft beer scene.

Went on the Beer Geek tour and it was fantastic, educational and fun. We went to White Labs first, had a special tour of the facility with a vertical tasting of a beer of our choosing brewed with different yeasts. Then to lunch at Brothers Provision for a great lunch. Then to Stone Farms for a personal tour with the owner and grower and another beer sampling. Then on to Societe Brewery for another great tour and Beer tasting.
Stephanie was personable, fun, engaging and knowledgeable. She also gave some great recommendations for the San Diego area. We all had a great time and came away more knowledgeable, satiated and with a smile on our faces.

We did a tour with Epicurean San Diego and had an incredible day. My husband was skeptical but came away having had the best time. Stephanie was so well prepared and every location we went to rolled out the red carpet for us. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about some great San Diego venues, food and drink businesses. And it’s great whether you’re local or just visiting!

This is a must see tour! Stephanie Parker, who is the owner, created an action packed day of many stops of some of the best in San Diego. We had the pleasure of seeing some very neat behind the scenes places. One stop was an organic coffee experience at Café Virtuoso. I loved the smells and tastes even though I don’t drink coffee. They suprised us by having THE BEST Chai Latte I have EVER had! Lunch was such a unique experience at Susies Farms. She arranged for a private tour where we walked the farm as we ate fresh fruit along the way. Then she made the freshest salad and lunch I have ever had. I can still feel it crunching in my mouth. Yummy food that was actually good for you! The entire trip we were treated like VIP’s. Way to go Stephanie! Your hospitality and passion for sharing your favorite places made this an amazing tour. Thanks for the education and a fun filled day! I highly recommend this to those who love life!

We went on a tour back in May and we really had a great time. We love to cook and eat and are trying to be healthier. We learned so much from each of the stops. Stephanie Parker was very nice and professional and she really knows her business. The whole day was planned out and everything was taken care of in advance. From the first stop in the morning to the last stop of the day we were hooked. If your going to be in the San Diego area or you live there and are looking for something fun and educational, I highly recommend this tour. You won’t be disappointed.

I took the half day tour last Saturday, and it was so much fun! As a native San Diegan that recently moved back to the area, it was great to rediscover the city through Epicurean. We had three stops, and I learned so much at each one. Plus we got to eat and drink delicious things! The lunch on Suzie’s Farm was amazing, and to end the day at a local winery was just perfect. Stephanie is an awesome host, and very organized. The tour was really well thought out, and just a great time all around. I highly recommend if you like fun, delicious food, and supporting local businesses!

We did a girls day and went on the Epicurean Tour. It was perfect! Stephanie our tour coordinator was organized and it was so well planned. We did not have to do a thing but show up. The tour was unique in the way that it was not touristy which is what I love when traveling. You got to see San Diego as a local which was so much fun. I felt like we were let in on some on the secret places that we would not have known otherwise. The food, tours and drinks was great and all local. Stephanie is very knowable about the area so it was very interesting. It was all very relaxing. A great day!

I took my boyfriend on this tour last time we visited San Diego and we had so much fun. It truly is a taste of San Diego, Stephanie was our tour guide and you can tell she is truly passionate about what she does. We learned so much and it felt like we were visiting places that we never would have seen otherwise. Every place we went had a connection to the others and it had a very «farm to table» like atmosphere. I definitely recommend this tour, we had a blast and Stephanie was awesome!

We loved this tour… all places were new to us… i am a native san diegian. and i have never heard of any of these. we we a bit older… but age is no difference in food and good times. i feel we all got along very well. my favorite was the salami stop. the owner had a little bisrto set outside with sliced salami and flowers for the mom’s…too sweet. the weather was just perfect for us… all exciting for us. we did this as a birthday gift. i would recommend this to any foodie… or any one who wants to try something different… tour guide fabulous… happy touring… e & j doonan

This was the BEST tour I’ve ever be on! So much more than the usual beer or wine tasting tour. We enjoyed every stop and the diversity of each place! The food provided for lunch was amazing and tied in with our farm stop (my personal favorite)! If you love good food, supporting local businesses, discovering new places to eat/​drink, this tour is for you! Check it out! SERIOUSLY… DO IT!!!

Last Saturday I went on a culinary adventure with Epicurean San Diego. I love cooking, eating out, home brewing, heck I would consider myself a Foodie. This tour was amazing and Stephanie was such a great host. It was a long day, about 8 hours when all said and done, so I really feel like I got my money’s worth!
Our tour went like this: first we started with a coffee class at Café Virtuoso in downtown San Diego. We learned how to make pour over coffee. Their coffee was so good I bought a bag of beans to take home with me! Then we went to Suzies organic farm where we took a tour of the farm and the chickens, got to eat veggies right out of the ground, and finished with a really nice picnic catered by a local mom and pop restaurant that makes pasta from scratch with Suzies ingredients! That was soo good! Then we went to an urban wine bar in downtown San Diego and had a wine flight. It was well deserved after that coffee and farm tour. After that we went to Meatmen sausage, where Albert the owner was amazing! He was hilarious and he makes some incredible cured meats! He also doesn’t mention it, but he has breakfast sausage you can buy to go as well… Super tasty! And finally we ended up at Societe Brewing Co. I am really into craft beer so I was very excited for this stop! They are hands down one of the best breweries in SD! Here we got to drink some craft beer, go on a brewery tour, and eat the Meatmen sausage. The combination of the meat plate and beer together was seriously amazing!
Plan on this tour taking up your whole day. When you are finished you will be exhausted! I’m so excited there is someone like Stephanie doing a tour showcasing some of the best artisans and craftsmen that San Diego has to offer. Seriously… What a day! This tour will bring out the Foodie in anyone.

Epicurean San Diego is for the traveler who wants to see what the locals of San Diego are all about! This tour is amazing! We got to explore all locally owned businesses that are welcoming, fun, and are unique in their own way!
Our tour guide Stephanie was well organized, knowledgeable and made the day flow easily. The whole day was very well coordinated, but did not feel rushed at all. At every stop I felt like a VIP since we had places reserved with the tour.
The food, drink and ambiance of the different places we visited really made this tour stand out from all others that I have been on.
If you want to see hidden gems of San Diego and support local places then this is the tour for you!

On Saturday I had amazing experience on the Epicurean San Diego tour. Turns out I am a Foodie and didn’t know it. I can understand and appreciate the differences between the mass produced and locally grown /​crafted food and drink. I just needed Steph (tour guide) to walk me through it and show me the way.
The tour had 5 stops and provided an amazing lunch in the middle and great food and beverages all along the way. The pace was relaxing and educational. I very much appreciated the special attention at our stops and the ability to learn about how local businesses craft their food and beverages. My group was a blast and the van was comfortable.
I recommend you bring a reusable bag/​soft cooler. I picked up fresh veggies (Suzie’s farm), sausage (Meatmen –Amazing) and beer (Societe Brewing) to continue my foodie development at home.

Went on this tour with a group of friends yesterday and it was truly a cool experience! We went to a bunch of cool local spots that I would normally not thing of going. We went to an amazing donut spot that had specialty donuts and coffee. Then went to Suzies Farm which was an amazing organic farm that had a lot going on! We picked vegetables and got an insiders experience on their farming practices. They had a strawberry jam festival which was lively too! Stephanie (tour coordinator) had our lunch catered there and we had fresh pesto pasta and foods made with the ingredients from that farm too– SUPER fresh and delish.
The other stops included a wine tasting as well as a behind the scenes look at a salami making company! Last stop was Societe Brewery where we got to try different beers and take a tour which was definitely my favorite part!
I definitely recommend for locals of you want to try something new or if you are traveling to SD and want a «locals» experience!

Yesterday I did the Epicurean tour with my family and friends and it was a blast! A side of San Diego I have never seen before and I even lived in SD for five years awhile back! I would definitely recommend Epicurean to all my friends, near and far! It’s great for someone visiting SD because it was an easy way to get around and experience SD with a knowable tour guide! And just as great for a local resident because it’s a side to San Diego you wouldn’t normal get to see or know to do on your own!
I believe the tours changes, but for mine, I had Stephanie as our Food, Farm and Libation Guide for the day! She picked us at a designated spot in Old Town and lead us on quite the adventure.
Our first spot was a local gourmet donut shop with speciality donuts and coffee that made my soul water!!!
Next was Suzie’s Farm, a local organic farm which I learned has a huge impact on the local food industry. We got a special tour of the farm, animals and got to pick our own vegetables. Our tour guide coordinated a catered Italian themed lunch for us from a company who gets its produce from Suzie’s farm! We got to enjoy our lunch on the farm with a little Jam Festival going on. The Pesto Kale Pasta was my favorite of the meal nom nom!!!
Next Stephanie took us to a Urban winery were they make their own wine right on site. The owner himself served us 6 wines of our choice! Relaxing with a cold a drink was a perfect way to follow up our farming experience.
Next we got suited up head to toe in safety gear and took a private tour of MeatMen, a local salami and sausage company! This was my favorite part of the tour!
Our final stop was at Societe Brewery! Were we got some samples of the beer and enjoyed some meats (that tour guide got from MeatMen), cheese and crackers ! After relaxing for a little bit, we had a special private tour of the brewery and its founders history! We got to go inside the sour beer barrel aging room (super rare), into their refrigerator, and see every stage of the beer making process!
It was a super fun day!
